Some Kylo Ren/Finn choreography just popped up in a brief commercial.

Holy shit, this confrontation is going to be one of the best in SW history..

Look at their weight, body language, reactions.. feels like a legitimate fight. And from what I've heard, just from cast interviews, there will be lots of meaning and significance behind it (which was absent from all but one of the prequel confrontations).

What I like about Rens attack there is, while looking nice, it is to generate power, its not a spin for spins sake he's using his motion to generate a huge piledriver of a swing.

Exactly. Their attacks have meaning and purpose and feel grounded by the laws of physics.

I mean... I like the way it looks too, but turning your back on an opponent in the middle of a fight is never, EVER the right call.

And it's a lightsaber, you don't need a lot of momentum :P

You only lose hands in the second Star Wars movies.

Tell that to Ponda.

Look at the first move, he has Finn on the backturn so he couldnt lunge even if he wanted to, its a set up move for the second one which is to gain momentum for the swing.

Im probably reading too much into it but the whole sequence looked really well done and sensible.

You can if you sure of the move and need force to break a defense. In this case if finn was expirienced he could have finished renn on that move, but he is not supose to have experience in sword fighthing

Looks like the only decent seats I'll be able to reserve is a 3D showing. Not in love with seeing it for the first time in 3D but who am I kidding I'll be seeing this shit at least twice.

Hnng I want to watch but after the chinese trailer I decided to stop watching anymore until the movie.

It's okay, only 3.something days to go.

Its only 2.5s long :D

Treat yourself :3

Looks like he's turning his back on him because he knows Finn is completely on the defensive (he attacks him twice with one spin too, so it looks like it's a legitimate move). And Kylo's saber looks pretty damn heavy to me, which I think is the point. If the fight were initially more even, I don't think he would turn his back on his opponent. Just some things that popped into my head.

If Finn doesn't get a limb cut off, I imagine he would at least get multiple saber-induced lacerations across his body, sort of like what happened to Obi-wan's legs in AOTC.

In the prequel era he would aim for his lightsaber. Now he tries to decapitate him.
A new era is upon is brehs.
In an interview, Bogeya says this fight is brutal. No fantasy stuff, just a harsh fight. Ignite to kill.

He compared the original fights to stage combat, simple but intense, while the prequels were more like a dance

This story is kinda meant for gaming side, but I figured it was too small
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens opens in theaters in less than a week, and my favorite thing about the movie so far is that two of its leading men once sang a song with Justin Timberlake about not wanting to go to outer space. At the tender age of 36, Oscar Isaac has already had the kind of career that most actors can only dream of, but it wasn't always wine and roses for the Guatemalan beefcake.

Long before he starred in critically acclaimed films or blockbuster action movies, Isaac was set to perform in EA's Dante's Inferno, though he was later "fired off it" for reasons unknown. What we do know is that Isaac thinks it was a "shitty game", which puts him in direct opposition to former Dtoid EiC and current Epic Games heartthrob Nick Chester, who once described it as "... a hell of an entertaining package".

lol

That fight clip has me itching to get back into the competitive pseudo-sword scene. I was decent enough with tai chi style a few years back. Most of my upswings came from kendo folks who had no idea wtf I was doing, though.

Ha-ha nerds. They can't get girls!

Honestly, this skit would have been better in 1993, I think. Maybe it was the execution. The audition skit they did a few weeks back was much better.

Awww I thought it was cute.

That guy with the display case CLEARLY has several things in there out of their original packaging, filthy casual :)

probably an odd question, but what are the chances this has subtitled alien dialog in it? If it doesn't, then I'll probably try and see it in Japan. But if it does, I can't because it likely won't have English *and* Japanese subs for those sections, so I,d have to hold out until January.
