Take these Twitter reactions with a grain of salt. Wait for the real reviews to drop.

you do realize many of these people are the ones who write the real review right? There is no review screenings for TFA. All of the people who are reviewing it were there tonight. If they were. They wont be able to review until they see it with the rest of us.

Incorrect. There are critics screenings tomorrow.

Guys, when we're talking about how this film compares to the old ones, please keep in mind that you're comparing a movie that has just been/hasn't really been released to films that have more cultural impact than possibly any other fantasy films in history. It's almost impossible to compare them.

If this film even brushes elbows with those, it's an astonishing achievement.

Absolutely amazing night at the #StarWars premiere. Movie is a love letter to fans of the franchise (AKA everybody).

After watching @carrieffisher on the red carpet tonight, I want a stand-alone #StarWars movie called LEIA DON'T GIVE A FUCK.
lol

Uh, no they aren't. I have never said "This movie doesn't have enough plot holes."

I didn't say an abundance of plot holes are necessary. Take screen writing 101 man, it's part of the process. No story has no holes, it's just the good ones have ones you don't readily recognize.

Edit: some people think JJ is bad with this, others don't

apologies if this has been asked a thousand times already but is there or isn't there a review embargo? and, if not, when will they start going up? tomorrow?

I also think some people conflate plot holes with things that are simply not addressed. It's a shame people feel like every single aspect of a story needs to be detailed and shown to the viewer.

Some things can be filled in by your imagination if they aren't vital to move the plot forward.

Went and collected my ticket for Friday, so I don't have to queue up on the day. With all this and all the tweets coming out, my hype is literally at maximum.

I'm sitting here sipping a margarita at a fancy hotel in Las Vegas and there are people gambling away their lives in every direction but the folks here at this bar are all talking about Star Wars. Some are wearing cowboy hats, some are in dresses, and they're all different shapes, sizes, colors.

I think us bar folk are pretty cool.

Yes, this 100%

JJ did say in several interviews recently that with this film they wanted the story to be told through the environments and the characters, not through constant expository drivel. I'm have a feeling a common complaint of this movie will be its "lack of good story"

so you thought ANH did not have a dumb story? I mean seriously think about.

No, not really. But more to the point, it's a good story well told. The film I referenced in my post earlier today was the last Abrams film I saw, which was the Star Trek reboot: very well made movie with a really dumb story. My worry was this would be that. The reaction so far is almost universal in saying TFA is good, with what negativity to come so far has been about the story. Basically, what I was expecting.

Note: When someone says TFA is the best movie since 1980 or 1983 they are saying its in the OG level which means it could be better than New Hope but as good as TSB

But Lawrence Kasdan :(

People are angry that Faraci called it 'OK' and are now gathering his entire back catalogue to find opinions they also disagree with to compensate.

J.J. nailed it. #StarWarsForceAwakens is wonderful.

* Okay someone already posted this, but this is surely a good sign!

People are crazy. They're zealots and they're crazy.

But like I said before, I would never have to do that even if I were crazy like they are. I know from plenty of past experience that I don't often agree with Devin Faraci.

Really? Because based on this thread, people just brought up Fantastic Four and his Marvel bias. Not sure what the climate is like on Twitter.

Patton Oswalt @pattonoswalt
And without spoiling it, I can say that #StarWarsForceAwakens has the BEST final shot of any Star Wars film. Wow.

The prequels were bad because they weren't "Star Wars"

The sequel are now going to get shit for being too "Star Wars"

Am I the only one finding this humorous?

Only from one or two tweets so far though. And no complaints about bad acting, stupid characters, bad writing, etc., so it sounds like it should be fun. I can deal with the story being the weak link. But it might not be anyway.

Hmm Maybe I should separate plot and story. ANH had a dumb plot. Its story (which is how the plot is told was amazing)

Agree in a sense. ANH was a well told story, but the plot itself was dumb. What made it work was the characters and their chemistry, and at the time mind blowing special effects.

I guess its comes down to if that one person who happened to like F4 (worst movie I saw all year) is right and the "story" is dumb. Is he referring to the plot, or how the plot is told.

The Star Treks were written by Orci and Kurtzman. I'm impressed Abrams made competent films from those scripts. There are so many variables, I don't think it's that easy.

Goodness thank you for reminding me of this. JJ did not write either Star Trek. He wrote Super 8 and Mission Impossible 3, which I felt were both really well written. And Kasdan is no slouch..
