Dead Zone was actionwise the best Dragon Ball movie. Closer to the fights of the first Dragon Ball series than the KI spam of the later fights in Z.

Oh, sweet. I did that a long time ago and there are some great movies and some shit ones, but mostly a bunch of middling ones with good moments. Are you skipping the first three DB movies and just doing the Z ones?
Shin, are you sure you want to watch all the DBZ movies? When Resurrection F was announced, my friends and I decided we were going to watch it for nostalgia's sake. To prepare ourselves, we decided we were going to watch the DBZ movies that were most relevant to Frieza, namely the Cooler movies.
It was a huge mistake. Return of Cooler nearly killed me with just how horrible it was. Immensely stupid, even by DBZ standards. From what I've heard that's not even the worst DBZ movie either.
At least you have Tree of Might coming up though! That one's hilarious.

I haven't seen most of the movies in a long time but Bio Broly is the worst, I'm sure of that.
Funi always looks like trash. Has to do with color range and it getting expanded twice for some reason.

There has never been a good DBZ movie. In fact the movies may retroactively cause you to dislike the series as a whole if you liked it before.
That's the one I most frequently hear being cited as the worst of the bunch. It's frightening to think that there's one worse than Return of Cooler. I'll be staying far away from it.

The fact that they named Frieza's brother Cooler is still the most hilarious thing in the DBZ universe. Like the parents were just having a bad day.

Also, in Phantom World, there is a reason why she is fondling herself - well, more of a reason than you would expect.
For Water, she rubs her kidneys...
and for Metal she rubs her chest, or lungs. I assume for each element she stimulates the relevant Yin organ. Doesn't really change the merit of the series but it's a fun fact. Also she goes into Tai Chi stances (or something very similar) whenever she goes into fondle mode.

I'm probably gonna watch it this year too. Excited for the new one, especially considering how much better Gennedy and co have gotten at some things in the time since Jack.
It's been awhile since I've seen anything Jack, but I don't remember anything being on the level of some of the action in Sym-Bionic Titan.

I see what the anime industry is doing. They've been playing the long game.
They desensitized our inherent gag reflex to light novel tropes by exposing us to shitty terrible shows like World Break, Absolute Dio, Sky Wizards Academy, and Lance N' Masques in rapid succession.
Then they put reasonably competent people in charge of shows like Asterisk War and Phantom World, and BAM no one can tell they're shit right off the bat like they normally could.

Y'know, I think the opening 10 seconds with the narrator who looks like the Happy Mask Salesman are slowly changing. In fact, I went back to the first episode and checked and the music was way lighter and his voice was way softer. That's attention to your creepy detail right there.

Maybe not animation but in choreography or style? Yes. Jack vs the Ninja, Jack vs the Princess and the Bounty Hunters, Jack vs the Guardian of the Portal, Jack vs the Ultrabots is also fantastic. Heck Jack vs the Monks is great too, tiny glimpse:

I haven't seen the first three DB movies in a LONG time but I remember them being short (40m? Maybe thats just the first) and sweet. The fourth came out way into DBZ and it's a retelling of DB.

I'll be skipping the Dragon Ball movies, largely because I've only seen bits of the original series (Mostly after King Piccolo is introduced), while I've seen Dragon Ball Z in it's entirety.
I am sure, Clov. I want to see how deep this barrel can take me. If nothing else, it shall serve as a reminder that even the most beloved of franchises can carry the smell of shit beneath it's golden haired physicque.
Which is probably why I'll say that somehow it isn't even in the bottom 3.
Also, is there anyway of watching Episode of Bardock and Plan to Eradicate the Sayians legally? Or will I have to go through other means in order to watch it?

Well he doesn't tend to take out the sword unless they're robots or spirits lol. Nice work around for the show to still be able to slice and dismember many of the enemies since they tend to be robots.
Also he was trained in basically every martial arts form when he was a kid until adulthood, including with shaolin monks.

I remember when Sword Art Online aired, discussion of it dominated the entire week while it was running. I doubt discussion of Phantom World will be very prevalent after today.
I remember the good old days when people talked about quality shows like Joshiraku instead of SAO and Oreimo.

I'm done as fuck with Dragon Ball Z. It's almost eerie how I have one cousin who grew up with me watching it, and he still watches and consumes DBZ crap all of the time. I don't know what it is with South America and DBZ but I tried to make him watch other shows and he gave no fucks.
I wasn't citing Free openings as a 'breakout', just trying to think of examples of KyoAni shows as of late that don't stick lock, stock and barrel to the mold.
It looks like we are so bored today that we are talking about Dragon Ball Z movies. Though I will grant that is a more worthy topic then what is airing today.
