Musaigen no Phantom World has literally nothing going for it other than animation quality and boobs. Fucking TLR: Darkness has a more fun and interesting plot than this and will win out in the other plot department too, ultimately.

I know for certain that if I were to continue watching this I wouldn't even smile once. The average porn writing has got to be stronger than this even.

On and Haruchika was...not terrible yet. I agree with those complaining about off putting character design. The eyes look downright terrible on half the people, like the volleyball team at the beginning.

I felt like I stopped seeing many impressions of KnK. Or Tamako. And I hardly saw any Tamako Love Story impressions even though it's like the best thing they've done in the last few years. You definitely identified the shows I felt like there was almost no discussion for though. Chuu2-2 and Free S2 didn't illicit much of a response around here.

I'm glad this series is covering seiyuu work besides anime. It makes it more interesting as a piece of edutainment.

Also, the foreign film they were dubbing in this episode was hilarious. I'm pretty sure the thought process behind it was "OK, what's the most American things we can think of? Apple pie, 4th of July, and uh... zombies! Let's go with that!"

I recall there being a crowd that stuck with KnK and Tamako, hell the most noteworthy thing in Tamaro Market was in episode 9. Second seasons for shows that fail to resonate here don't tend to generate much talk in this thread, even the people that keep watching them seem to stop doing their weekly check-ins. Tamako Love Story had some talk when it was first available, but like most films, there were no legs and it faded into obscurity.

I only started using a Kirito avatar to annoy that segment of crazy animegaf which went into hysterics over SAO. Same reason I jokingly put it #2 in my vote that year. And now its too hard to think of some other Avatar type.

That said I am a reader of LNs and tend to find the books much better than the shows they spawn.

Watch Odin: Photon Space Sailer Starlight. It's about the quality I expect from most mecha anime.

My favorite part of the Phantom World debate are people who dropped it already since that plot is so terrible and haven't dropped Haruchika which has every indicator of being early contender for Worst Anime of the Year (note I haven't dropped it yet despite that).

Yamishibai Season 1

Well, I found that pretty enjoyable. It isn't as good as Kagewani and looks far cheaper then even that, but the short nature serves it well most of the time. Yamishibai uses the Kamishibai style, an old style utilizing various pictures to tell the story. In that lens, it works. Despite that look, the show is pretty well framed and paced which is important for a horror series, although again not as good as Kagewani was but that had double the length episodes. Each episode is around 3m 45s and are completely unconnected, about a different ghost. Nothing groundbreaking, but simple horror can still be effective. They all work and are good stand alone, the one exception being episode 6 (the dude on the train) which I just thought was bad.

I gotta ask though - is there any mythological basis for these East Asian ghosts being such assholes? The majority of the time they seem to just haunt people and kill people for no reason, and when there is a reason it's a really unfair one like someone's dead ancestors did some bad shit. That's not fair! Other then that, a few have rules like "Don't look at them" but still. I suppose as I said above its an element of how long the episodes are but goddamn.

A season without watching a trashy LN show doesn't feel right to me. Although I usually never finish them. Kinda crazy that I finished both Asterisk and Cavalry last season.

At this point there is like a meta-experience in comparing them and seeing what unique hook they can add to the generic premise.

As long as they are not completely unredeemable garbage. Like Lances n' Lolis. I want those 20 minutes of my life back.

Myriad Colors Phantom World Episode 1

This is awful and amazing at the same time. I love it.

If you don't like Gundam shows you should watch G Gundam.

G Gundam is the greatest use of cultural stereotypes to ever hit any animated show.
