The two teaming up and who wins their fight are two completely different things

Why are people assuming because the heroes eventually work together means we know how their fight(s?) goes down?

Batman wins because... ehhh... whatever.

It's still stupid, Superman is a god, Batman is a guy that works out.
Batman isn't going to "win". He never wins. At best, he distracts Supes long enough to break his mind control or escape or prove a point. At worst, Superman counters every single countermeasure without blinking. That's how their fights go down in the comics

The real question isn't who wins, but how Batman weakens, delays, stuns, distracts, damages, counters Superman's abilities and advantages.

Imagine if Superman just killed him

No teaming up or anything

He just fucking kills Batman

I would love it, if only for messing with everyone's expectations.

You don't understand the plight of everyone else being the smartest person on the internet, man.

Yeah, but like, what if batman lures superman into a room, only to have the walls fall over and reveal it's a prison cell??

Wait a minute, maybe the Doomsday fight happens in the beginning of the movie where they kill off Facebook kid playing Lex and from there Bats and Supes throwdown???

I don't know. I'm upset.

I can understand if people feel that the movie has now been spoiled because of the second trailer, seriously; fair enough. Showing Doomsday but without those two shots of them together would have people not so angry as they are now (personally I don't mind, but then again I like reading movie scripts before the movie is out and don't care much for spoiler is general). But my reaction was to the guy who said there is zero tension and with Civil War there is. Which is just bullshit.

1. Saying there is no more tension because of the trailer, implies that beforehand you already expected one of them to die or something like that. Any reasonable person knows that they will team up, especially knowing DC is building their universe. Did people really expect one of them to kill the other? Preferring to seeing it the first time on the big screen is understandable and a fair critisicm, I get that. But that whole zero tension is just bullshit. Before the second trailer there was just as much (or none) tension as there is after. Unless like I said you had this idea they would fatally harm each other.

2. Marvel killing someone? Thors mom and Quicksilver, who else? Do people really expect them to kill either Cap or Iron Man in Civil War? But even more than that, both Evans and RDJ are confirmed to be shooting for like 9 months straight. Knowing that they will be in the movies after Civil War (and don't give me the but hologram bullshit), zero tension right? That whole thing feels way more fake and forced than the battle of Batman and Superman. ''You were my friend'' when? That shit had zero impact on me and I really like the Cap movies.

3. That is just the problem in general with announcing the movies 5 years in advance. I KNOW none of the important characters are going to die. They are already confirmed for the next three movies. With the logic people apply to this movie, they shouldn't give a shit for any of the upcoming superhero movies (both WB and Marvel). Heck, the whole phase 1 pre-Avengers movie doesn't have any tension whatsoever, because you knew there would be an Avengers movie, right? Same with Infinity War or Justice League, all the important players will be there. Having it not shown in a trailer or something like that is a legit critisicm, I can understand that.

no point watching this film, its going to be awful. We know the ending already

DC sucks, Gal Gadot is such an awful Wonder Woman. What were they thinking

can't wait for Civil War, its going to be amazing

"People are always bragging they've developed a weapon that can hurt me. They miss the point. It's no big deal to hurt me. In fact, it's pretty easy if you know how. The trick is to survive me."

Superman can be hurt. He can just take a lot of hits

Oh do you, can I get the link to where you watched the movie?
Or are you saying that based on a trailer you watched and just assuming you know the ending?
Why bother posting in a Batman V Superman thread if you have no interest in the movie?

I don't think I can tell trolling from legit fanboyism anymore.

I truly believe this was Doomsday shooting heat vision at Batman because you can see the flames from the destruction in the back caused by Doomsday. So it looks clear that they are fighting in Gotham because I think Metropolis had enough after Man of Steel. Supes is not going to take Batman serious without that armed suit.

Are people really being that daft? You knew at some point they would team up when this movie was first announced. Again I'm all for less spoilers but when the tagline "Dawn of Justice" was revealed you knew they would team up. Anyone acting like the last trailer spoiled that aspect of the movie is just being silly. Also Batman and Superman do fight. More than once from the looks of it.

That said outside of forums. No one cares what this movie is named. People KNOW they are going to team up. People just want to see them fight and get this DC universe kicked off. People want to see the Trinity on screen.

I'm disappointed that the movie supposedly cops out on having a winner. At least in Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns there was some semblance of a winner.

Will either of them in the movie even be shown clearly getting an edge up on the other guy? Or is it just going to be a whole lot of filler back-and-forth until the real bad guy shows up?

It's clear they are fighting in Gotham because you think Metropolis had enough? Did Metropolis just become sentient and scooted everybody across the water, "Now, now, go play over there! I'm still recovering from the last one!"

That really wasn't the case in DKR either. Batman threw the fight.

I'm going with Superman, though Batman is going to win the fan votes.

Because dominating another person into submission is a clear way to start a team.

I'm pretty sure TDKR has Superman hearing Bruce's heartbeat at the end and going along with his plan, implying Superman never really cared about stopping him in the first place.

Nah. There was no semblance of a winner. In the end, Batman ends the fight by faking a heart attack, a fight where he had broken ribs and a busted wrist and Superman wasn't even sweating

Unless you consider proving a point winning a fight. But it certainly wasn't a physical win

So all joking aside I don't give a shit "who wins," I've always hated any time you have superheroes fighting each other. To me that has always been a juvenile fantasy of writers who grew up asking "well who would win if Green Lantern fought The Flash?" The reality of that question is stupid since superheroes wouldn't or rather shouldn't be fighting each other, it's why I always roll my eyes during "The Avengers" when for for explicable reason they all decide to fight each other so all the fanboys can squeal as they see whether Thor's Hammer can break Cap's Shield.

Realistically (as far as a comic fictional character can go) Superman would kill Batman by simply sneezing so it doesn't interest me to see those two fight. I'm more interested in some actual plot, good characterization, and perhaps the forming of the Justice League on screen. I don't care if Batman dodges Superman's heat wave or uses a Kryptonite Ring.

Friends and family get into fights in real life. Why wouldn't superheroes?
