If it wasn't for Capcom Pro Tour, this game would be getting delayed.

Glad they worked out a compromise internally.

Yeah, I'm convinced Guile is the dude shown at the beginning in the military facility. He's the only character wearing dog tags. My dude finally got a new haircut. Will he have a new move? Stay tuned!

Don't know what is worse: Bengus art, 3d cinematics or the fact that Guile it's hinted as a character...

The more informations about this game get out the less appealing it is for me...

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Would you have preferred they delay the game, miss their fiscal year, and mess up their Capcom Cup schedule just so the story mode can be at launch? Or perhaps rush it and not give it the ample time it would need to be as good as they want it to be?

Their fiscal year and Capcom cup schedule don't effect me. That's on their end.

I'm more worried they are rushing the game to hit the fiscal year deadline, and everything is in a release now patch later state.

I'm sorry, but no.

Mortal Kombat changed the game. It raised expectations.

Capcom said Story Mode would be there this time around. While the in-game model cinematics is certainly better than the 2D art they've shown for what I'm assuming is Arcade Ladders, the fact that it's coming out 4 months later is a major disappointment.

MK also launched with absolute garbage netcode and told PC players to go fuck themselves. The less Capcom learn from NRS, the better.

If this were Mortal Kombat, I'd wait till June to get the game when the story mode releases as I'm not really interested in playing against someone else in that game (locally or online, it's always been more of a single player game to me).

But I'm okay with this. I'd rather have a story mode come later instead of no story mode at all. I'm likely going to be playing this game for hundreds of hours against others anyway)

Guile was already confirmed to be in the first wave of DLC alongside Balrog, Alex, Urien, Juri, & Ibuki.

Are you guys sure that the character at 18 seconds isn't Guile because I'm getting that vibe a bit more than I am the Balrog one.

I said MK, not MK X. MK was the first modern fighter to do a real story mode. While it's abhorrent how WB and NRS are treating PC players, no one can deny that they raised the bar for fighters having single player content, something Capcom fighters notoriously lack.

And for the record, I'd rather have it delayed because I consider it to be an essential part of the game.

So is that Guile having a short haircut at the beginning? Haha thats dope.

And I hope no one dies in that story mode. I like all of those characters.

None of them are either Balrog or Guile. The hair doesn't match with either of them, & the 3 men are likely to be with the US Military.

Not likely considering that we see Guile's model at the end in the picture that Charlie has.

But both games are completely different. I don't expect MK to have the same skill ceiling or level of polishness that I expect from Street Fighter.

I think this attitude of "we must please" everybody is a huge problem. Just because MK has a story mode (which is pretty bad on both 9 and X) that doesn't mean every other game must have one as well, specially not Street Fighter.

Why don't you just buy it when the story launches then? You'd rather the entire competitive aspect be pushed back just to have a story mode at launch?

This way you can buy it later for next to nothing. Releasing in February doesn't affect you at all.

Awesome news,
I cant believe we are getting a story mode
will it be like street fighter alpha 3 dreamcast world tour mode?
The best thing that ever happen to fighting games TBH even better than MK story mode.

Sorry for confusion. You mean you think no one will die or one of them will go kapoof?

But isn't it at all possible the picture could be older and taken at a much earlier date within the context of the story?

I mean that that the character at the 18 second mark isn't Guile.

As for anyone dying, the only ones who are safe are Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li thanks to them being in SFIII. Anyone else dying is fair game.

At least we know about the story mode. I'm not expecting this to be very good and I'm glad I don't have to pay for it.

I wonder if we'll have a DLC character or two out by then.

That's his USF4 model.

That's why I said "not likely". The silhouette for Guile at the end does look like he kept his iconic hairstyle. But there is a chance that Guile will get a new set of clothes for his default design with the classic costume being an alt.

That's his USF4 model.
That model looked way too good to be his USF4 model.

Charlie is back from the dead, so death doesn't even matter if people want you enough.

"you won’t need to play either of the story modes to unlock any major content in the game."

"Capcom reiterated that all post-launch content must either be free for players or earn-able with Fight Money. So, with both skill and patience, you’ll be able to unlock everything that comes for the game without paying any extra money."

SWEET !
