X-Men Apocalypse Super Bowl Trailer

The black leather armor again is really turning me off. After some of the great costumes we've seen lately, to go back to that seems like a downgrade.

Still hope it turns out well, I like Fassbender and McAvoy a lot.

Looks fine, and I'm sure I'll see it in theaters. Still bugs me that they have McAvoy and Fassbender, but they waste time on trying to shove Jennifer Lawrence down our throats. I mean I know they are obviously a big part of these movies, but they should be the main focus.

Loved it. Psylocke looks great.

Jean, Cyke and Storm look fantastic.

I'm jazzed as fuck for this movie. Love the X-Series especially since FC

First Class was fantastic, I actively disliked DoFP, so I am not excited for Apocalypse. Singer did a terrible job with the sentinels and has failed with Apocalypse screen presence already. Maybe the movie will end up being good, but I would be far more excited for it if Matthew Vaughn was directing.

You found the villains in First Class to be memorable? The White Queen? Azazel?

Most of those effects shots are obv only for promotional use

Singer X-Men movies always have one or two cool action scenes draped around a totally crap story

And they get really great actors for some reason

Main thing that still bothers me is that somehow Professor X is supposed to go from this:

to this:

in less than 20 years. Same for Magneto. That's some hard livin.

maybe he focused on moving himself with his mind powers instead of his arms and got real lazy and aged prematurely

At some point you just have to agree to suspend disbelief. They aren't going to get Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart to sign on for another 10+ years of X-Men films.

I kind of wonder at what point Marvel is going to have to retcon or shift characters with World War 2 origin stories away from their origins. It doesn't make a lot of sense for Holocaust survivors to still be battle-ready in the 1990's and 2000's.

As a huge fan of X2/DOFP this doesn't look great. But it's like 15 seconds and there is hardly any dialogue. As long as Apoc, Mags and Xavier are there to bring their A game it'll be okay.

Dude, it won't even be the best comic book movie released that month.
I don't see how that's certain. We've seen like a grand total of 3 minutes from each film that are both months away. Plus Winter Soldier and DOFP were about even for me in quality. They also both got around the same critical reception.

It might be me but I feel like Apocalypse isn't imposing enough. I expected him to be bigger, maybe Juggernaut's height and his voice to sound deeper and authoritative.

He just looks kinda of regular and his voice sounds soft....like you'd expect a little more from a dude that's pretty high up there in power.

I actually find no issue with his voice being soft? Dude doesn't need some generic booming, deep voice. I loved the opening lines he had from the last trailer.

Plus we've seen very little.

I mean, I do. But I almost kind of wish they'd either stop jumping 10 years ahead each movie, or start using a little bit of age makeup and/or hair dye. I'm sure that would look bad though which is probably why they don't do it.

I do find it funny they went out of their way to explain why Mystique isn't really aging but didn't bother with X and Magneto.

i think they're gonna be stuck in the 80s from here on out.

They're coming forward. Deadpool is the first look at the world state of the Fox/X-Men film canon in the current day.

When New Mutants comes out that'll be current day. X-Force probably will be as well, if it actually gets made.

x-force with deadpool would be cool.

but nah screw bringing xmen forward, they should make a couple movies in the 80s. would be tight

I'd be ok with that. It would be kind of annoying if they had to recast all these people again for the 90's version. Then again, a 90's era one would give them the perfect chance for them to do a take on the Jim Lee costumes.
