That's what the car is for. I am sure there are plenty of places we can go but plenty we can't go. Like I bet at certain point it is literally just the road and nowhere to pull over
The same could be said for any number of games with fast travel or pilotable mechas.

The overly large worlds still wind up boring because of color-by-numbers quests and irrelevant NPCs.f

I'm obviously hoping that isn't the case here.

I think he means the air trolley seen in Lestallum.

Mmhhh... But didn't Tabata say that the trolley was not accessible, or that they were just "considering it"?

Last I heard he said if they have time for it they'll put it in...so I wouldn't count this in as a totally confirmed thing you can do just yet...would be nice, albeit pretty superfluous overall.

Yeah, I remember him reconfirming those city trolleys or whatever they're called recently or maybe I was just rewatching an older ATR or something. I'll check the source later, I'm commuting right now.

EDIT:
Source is this answer from the dev team in the official forum:

I can tell everyone a little about Altissia at this time.

Altissia has many and varied locations, such as multiple cafes, ship-bourne market places and parks etc. The city is of a considerable scale, to the extent that even the developers sometimes get lost there!

The player is free to take a leisurely walk around the complex maze of streets, or ride the gondola to see the sights and there is also added enjoyment to be had looking for restaurants to visit!
You are bound to encounter some unique characters when exploring the city streets.

So we have created lots of different things to enjoy in Altissia and hope everyone is looking forward to visiting!

EDIT2: LOL, wait. "Gondola" is not the same as "gondola lift"? :D It sounded like the German "Gondell" which is "gondola lift". But apparently "gondolas" are also those Venedig-style boats, which obviously will be found in Altissia.

You guys are fast. The video hasn't completely been processed yet, so the quality will be better in a few minutes.

THANK YOU FOR THIS AWESOME and this somewhat long loop !!!! You're the best !!!

btw, for me, the quality was pretty good. I'll reload the page in a few hours just to see if it has improved !

I'm surprised to listen up to 3h of awesome GuardianSoul's music masterpiece, then at the very end hear that he added up the last bit of the trailer just to beautifully complete the loop ;) That was awesome !

Yeah Tabata said something about them during the ATR when they showed of Lestallum

Ahh, I knew I wasn't remembering wrong. Found the source, it's this recent answer from the dev team in the official forum:

As a citizen of Venice, i can confirm that lol

Those elevated cargo rail things in Lestallum don't seem to have a cabin for passengers(at best there is an operator driving it).

Either way I think this particular form of transportation would be unnecessary. Lestallum isn't that big. The biggest feature of Lestallum is the crater behind it that the mining facility is above, but even that is reasonable for walking.(it's not even as big as the crater Titan is in)

Gondolas in Altissia are another story. That place is huge and will need a form of transportation other than walking, especially since there are no roads there.

The Metal Gear we deserve.. They should've just ditched the whole "Final Fantasy" name and made this into a new IP..

Maybe they could have gone with a subtitle, to make it clear it was different from the main series but still drawing influence from it. Something like 'Versus'.

Should've been "Bouncer Redux." At this point they can just slap "Final Fantasy" into any game and people wouldn't care anymore.

Edit: My problem with this is this looks to be like a huge QTE fest battle engine where you just react to prompts as oppose to actually choosing commands.

There is not a single QTE in the whole footage except for maybe the party cross-attacks that seem to prompt a button-input depending on your position relative to your party members and even then first only one initial button press here and not a QTE. The fancy party attacks are literally commands that you can select manually for your party members. The weapons are manually switchable. Every weapon has a special skill that can be triggered manually. You can choose and aim magic manually. For warping you can choose the point you want yourself by aiming the camera and then pressing a button. Where are the QTEs? Maybe I missed something.

To be honest if I were shown this without the knowledge that it is a "Final Fantasy" game, I would've thought it was along th eline of Nier or Dragoon games. That's just me though.

Yeah, it only has chocobos, airships, summons, magic, moogles, classic monsters, recurring music, magitek armor, crystals, Cid and various other things from the franchise. It bears no resemblance at all to the franchise.
