Ever since Sucker Punch there seem to be a lot of revisionist history when it comes to Snyders films.
Well when people have low standards, they're easy to please!
For me, 300 is peak Snyder. No substance really, and it hasn't aged great - but it was mindblowing to me at the time.
He can direct the shit out of action
And then flop on everything else
even though it completely loses the themes and subtexts of the graphic novel.
I actually missed that at the cinema at the time and didn't see until years later. Wasn't that impressive. Watchmen is his best imo even though it completely loses the themes and subtexts of the graphic novel.

Oh shit, I didn't even notice the omega symbol. Is WB finally getting serious?! Am I getting Darkseid?!
Nah, Dawn of the Dead & Watchmen have proved he can do drama scenes decently. Granted a lot of that comes down to the skill of the actor hired to do that job, but still.
I don't think he's a bad director. I think he's got good instincts, and great visual sense. I also think he's not so great at thinking about how to maximize either of those things. So you end up with a guy who bounces around between "Smarter Michael Bay" and "Dumber Martin Campbell" depending on the screenplay.

Did you not see the Parademons either??

I feel like Synder gets Batman as much as he doesn't get Superman. That opening scene looked amazing, but I still don't think Supes smiles once in the trailer.
Definitely miles better than the last trailer, but still trying to keep my expectations in order.
The what now?
300 in IMAX in the theater would make you shit a brick
Did you not see the Parademons either??
That's because Sucker Punch is T-R-A-S-H
I disagree. I saw the movie a couple times over again just days ago (Cinemax), and appreciate it now more than I ever have before.Nahh. That movie is all flash no substance. I loved it regardless though.
WHAT?! I have to rewatch this.

Lex is still an awful casting but the trailer was hype
lets do thisssssssss, next month too D:
With every trailer this movie looks more and more bad.
Hold on - fight choreography, sure. Maybe even production design... but does anyone actually think this is going to be pound-for-pound a better film than Nolan's first two Bat-flicks? I'm sure somebody will respond with a curt and unhelpful "yes", but like... I was around back in 2005 and 2008, and judging by the temperature of the room, this doesn't seem to be eliciting similar levels of confidence.
While the Batman sequence at the beginning looks cool, he also looks amped up to Captain America levels. That seems like superhuman level strength.

for the 0 people wondering, that is a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS (PC flight sim controller setup) being used in that Batplane/Batwing/Batwhatever at the beginning.
That shot is sensational. Say what you want about Snyder, but the man knows how to create fantastic visuals.
Freeze it at 1:54-1:55 and look close.
