A 32:9 aspect ratio Monitor with a resolution of 3840 x1080 at 41".

That is beautiful... But, I want a G-Sync version.

Just pulled the trigger on a Dell U3415W.

I am beyond hyped. I have a LG 29 inch Ultrawide and i played Rise of the Tomb Raider all the way through and i'm sold. going back to 16:9 is just... too hard.

I seriously had a LG 29 inch Ultrawide and just upgraded to a Dell U3415W about 2 weeks ago. Worthy upgrade, you will be very pleased.

Welcome to the club! Playing games on my Dell is just too good. Can't wait for Dark Souls 3 :)

Alright so I already own this monitor. I got a bit more back on my tax check than I expected and am wondering if I should spring for a ~$600 34" model or is this one good? If I don't buy it I'm probably going to use the money for an Occulus Rift.

What kind of rig do you have? 34" ultra-wides, though there are exceptions, are often 1440p vertical, and "4k" horizontal. You'll need a 980ti or Fury X, both of which are $650ish video cards, to drive those at acceptable frame-rates with games.

Neweggs current deal of the day is an AOC 34" 3440x1440 Ultrawide for $549.99 this is the cheapest I personally have ever seen a 3440x1440 34" Ultrawide

I cannot comment on the quality of the actual product but that is dang cheap.

Currently in the process of building a new PC the final build will have an R9 nano as the GPU.

I just purchased an LG 34UC97 and am quite impressed so far.

One question though. I was under the impression that this display supports 10bits per color. I have it hooked up to my 970 via the display port cable that came with the monitor, but in the NVidia control panel, it won't let me select anything other then 8bpc for outtput color depth. Is there something else I need to do to get 10 bit?

edit: I just figured it out. I had to change a setting on the monitor to enable display port 1.2

I drive mine with a 970 and am generally happy with framerates. Your definition of 'acceptable' might differ from mine though :)

I also run a single 970 at 1440p and outside of only the most demanding games at ultra settings, everything handily performs at 60. Rise of the TR and Vermintide are two examples where 30fps occurs on ultra natively. Either a drop to 2560x1080 or dialing back a few visual sliders is all it takes to get things edging back to 60, but these are the exceptions in my library being two demanding new releases.

Not even a 980TI is enough tbh, I need to constantly OC +220mhz to try and get around 60fps, really need dat Pascal. Wouldn't trade 3440x1440 for any other res in the world though.

I just saw the curved Acer Predator X34 in person. My god. This has to be my next monitor. Here's hoping for a 144Hz variant in the near future.

I thought the exact same thing when I first saw it at PAX last year. The first thing I said to my wife when we stood in front of it...

"I must have it."

I'm putting a new build together just for this monitor. I'm ditching my 2x 25" Asus and going 21:9.

I'm torn between the asus and the x34. Most of the reviews I saw of the x34 had all sorts of issues.

Why would you be torn? Ofcourse go with the Asus.

Edit: Also i am also considering this monitor. Just hope its not over $1300 US.

21:9 is sooo last year :p
Unfortunately, I believe this will look bad gaming wise, thanks to fisheye effect, and that's why I dropped Surround in favor to 21:9/UHD.
Asus PG348Q finally released in the UK. Price not for the faint hearted but X34 is starting to finally drop.

Great, now to wait for TFTCentral review. Do we know the curve strength yet?

Oh yes of course, it's always good to welcome new tech, no problem here. For movies, I suppose it will be glorious this being said.

Damn. i should not have opened this thread as i now i want a new monitor :(

34" seems a bit big though. Are there any decent smaller alternatives ? (with G-Sync hopefully... i dont have a geforce yet but another thread made me want G-Sync :( )

I dropped my phone last week and ordered a Oneplus X to replace it...

I'm now sold on AMOLED screens... I mean, holy shit... How long until I can buy a 21:9 AMOLED Freesync monitor?

Years I bet.
They only started doing 16:9 OLED monitors (only at 30") which starts at $4999.

3800R

However at this point better to wait for the 144Hz 21:9 34 inch monitors. 144Hz really makes a difference.
So, bigger than the X34 (1900R was it?). Regarding your comment, yes, that's what I plan to do, right now I can use 3440x1440 with an UHD TV via custom resolutions, but I'm still interested to see how Asus managed to do it's monitor.

Honestly, 100Hz is enough if you're not looking to use ULMB. The difference from 60Hz up to about 85 or so is huge. After that? Somewhat negligible.

I want that Acer X34 so bad. If only I didn't need to buy a $1000 CAD 980 Ti to power it. Still on my GTX 680, and I feel I need to wait for Pascal.

"Barely above 60fps max" = "Destroy"

These are the same people who think a 970 will devour a 4K on Ultra.

How is 131fps "barely" above?

There isn't even a 3440x1440 monitor that goes over 100fps on the market right now.

Regardless he was specifically referring to 60fps at that res.

That a Dell right? I've seen that a lot of people buying those how is it?

Yes.
I only played with it for around 15 minutes before going to work, but so far:
- no stuck/dead pixels whatsover
- factory color calibration is quite good, I probably will leave it as it is
- really small backlight bleed in top left corner
- buttons were a little unresponsive, I think, will test those again after I cut my fingernails >.>
- A+++++++ design

Cool good to know

The Dell definitely had PiP and it's wonderful. I don't use it tons but when I do I'm very glad it's there.

Edit: post from above reminded me to say that if I had one complaint about the U3415W it'd be that I really hate the buttons. I want buttons, not half sensitive touch areas. I got used to them on the U2711 but I still don't like them much.

I also prefer the physical buttons, but I only access the menu like once a year, so it doesn't bother me much.

I believe Dell 3415w and any Samsung/LG monitors should have that feature.

my LG 25UM56P which I just received today does NOT support PiP.

Furthermore...

Did you know that Sonic Adventure 2 on Steam actually supports ultra widscreen!!??

I didn't have to do anything special, just change the resolution on the configuration! (yes some menus are goofy but the game runs perfectly fine!

I am absolutely in love with this monitor.

I would like to note that I am running this monitor with a GTX 660 ti and a GTX 750ti OC used as a dedicated PhysX card.
