SSFIV, has every character I ever wanted. The only ones that are missing are
Rolento
Sodom
Alex
Elena
Hugo
Urien

But they can always be added in SSFIV Turbo, along with GGPO online :D

And charge partitioning, and super select, and EVO-style training, and turbo mode, and stun bars, and variable super bar lengths(some supers get 3 ex blocks, others 5, etc), and Q.

It will also come with a DVD that will help players who had a hard time completing their trials. The DVD will include footage of what each trial looks like in action along with hand placement and button-timing footage. .

What a waste IMO...........all I had to do was go to youtube watch a trial I was having a hard time with and see the animation timing and master it in 2 or 3 tries, why spend extra when youtube trial video is all you need.

Good for you, but the trials are super hard for most. Video or no.

The only Alpha character left that mattered is Rolento(and i though he was gonna be in Super4). The rest...meh

i'd love to Minesweep fools in semi-3D

as for Alpha characters: Birdie is the main one missing IMO for being a Street Fighter 1 character turned into Alpha
Adon & Gen making it would be awesome to complete the package with Birdie

3s is shit.

A2 is over-rated IMO
went back to it (I don't use CCs because it is againt my religion to use CCs, V-ism or Yun's SA3 or Juri's Engine)
besides nice art; A2 is not that intense. i always found the Alphas to feel like paper

in 2010; all fighting games should have concise training modes with tutorials to teach the player how the grasp the mechanics.

SF4 Vanilla's Trials were terrible if the intent was to teach players mechanics or combos.

I couldn't agree more. I remember having one of my friends try the trials on a character he liked to play as. He really likes the game but is totally new to fighting game mechanics and combos. The timing and tricks to pulling off some of the combos were not really apparent to him at all. He couldn't really get past Normal Trial 4. Maybe he just sucks but I think the trial mode could have offered a little more info to the beginners.

Not just beginners the trial mode in SF4 was and is garbage and beyond most people.

That's all good (for Japan CE buyers), but Capcom still better have the option to have the character perform an example of the combo in-game. Not having that would be inexcusable.

I spent the whole last evening playing as Dudley on an arcade emu for 3rd strike. Works remarkably well with TE sticks on a PC, and goddam...he's one of the most fun characters in the SF franchise.

Totally agree, I was just messing about with him, he's actually brilliant.

Third Strike still looks utterly amazing to me.

Capcom need to keep anymore SF3 characters out. I would rather prefer some new characters rather than unloved repainted clones of SF2 characters.

This is SF4 FFS, we need more newcomers! Apart from Rolento, I can't think of a single character left that would add loads to the game.

Come on Capcom, blow us away!

so now it is in the same league as SF4?

I'd say SF4 is the opposite, turtling is hella easy in the beginner levels, but once you hit advanced play then offense/footsies are more dominant (SBO grand finals, evo grand finals, Alex Valle, recent tourney vids linked by oichi esp. ac revenger and the bison, etc. etc.)

Where as TvC is lawlz noobs, time to RTSD, experts?! UP BACK!!

Am I reading this wrong, or are you seriously suggesting that Dudley, Makoto and Ibuki are unloved, repainted clones of SF2 characters? Cuz shit like that is the only reason I can buy for people disliking 3s characters - plain ignorance.

Other than that, I agree that there should be more new characters.

On topic, I would really love to see Dudley in this game as he was my main in Third Strike and I dominated my friend often with him.

bolded for WTF!!
Clones??
have you played the Alpha series? now that was Maximum Clonage

three rumored characters: Ibuki, Makoto & Dudley have nothing in their DNA that depicts them as clones

Ibuki is a humm.. mhmhm girl... A FREAKIN' CHUN LI CLONE!

But yeah, loving the cast selection.
Every character has a diiferent and unique fighting style.

now imagine him in SF4..

i'm still having a hard time picturing any of the 3s characters without utilizing a parry D:

Sign me up for the crew that wants a revamped trial/challenge system. It really takes a lot of diligence for beginners to learn how to do some of these trials.
