Microsoft to hold Xbox & Windows 10 Media event Feb. 25th

I don't see them allowing GBA emulators on the Xbox One store for some reason.

If they are against them why arnt emulators like nesbox just removed from the windows store all together?

Edit: additionally whats the difference between me accessing them from my tablet with windows 10 and my xbox one? Imo it seems like the same thing.

I'm very excited to find out more on Tuesday.
The UWP is an incredible ambitious project and I'm excited to see how it plays out.

Does it look more like a business event than an entertainment event?
Because that's what it is.

Eh, I should of added a /s cause I wasn't being serious.

Tuesday embargo seems weird.
I'm hoping for some Dashboard update announcements. Cortana needs to get rolled out.
Maybe release a handful of universal apps at the same time.

hype, I hope we can have some news about Gears 4: beta news, videos from SP or MP, whatever will do... Just not a PC version.

I want to see more of Scalebound too PLEASE !!!
Extremely unlikely, Greenberg has said it's a showcase for their spring lineup. Scalebound isn't even a 2016 title.

Still the apps are nothing special in the store. That will also continue....

Why do you expect that?

The target audience for Universal Apps is much larger than Windows 8 Apps.
The development tools and libraries have improved and expanded.
There's self publishing.

There are a lot of differences.

I really do hope that issues others have mentions with how the games run in the Windows store are mentioned. I'm curious to see how they are going to go about addressing these concerns.

My thoughts exactly. A W10 machine is a W10 machine. Why would emulators be fair game for any W10 machine except XB1?

Is Kieghly going to be blacklisted now or are MS somehow screening every picture somebody takes so it won't 'accidentally' catch some info on the big screen?

windows apps are really interesting if they can also combine with cortana. I'd be happy for cortana to entirely replace the stock kinect voice recognition.

I also want apps to be able to run in the background - that would enable a bunch of audio apps for listening to stuff while gaming.

Really excited for KI:S3. Will definitely be getting an XBO for that.

First game I got on XBO (I was so excited for it since the announcement as I've been waiting for KI) and probably my most played XBO game.

Honestly, I don't think MS would care at all (hell, they'd probably secretly love it). However... I feel that emulators on Windows 10 slide under the radar because emulators are always on PCs regardless. The moment "play Nintendo games on your Xbox One" starts to be a thing, I think there'll be more pressure (not least from Nintendo themselves) for the store to become a little more strict in what apps are freely available.

I really want to hear more about how easy porting Xbox One games would be. My crazy wish for this is for a bunch third-party publishers to hop on board and support cross-buy/play for games we wouldn't likely get otherwise.

I would love to see a Windows 10 version of MKXL that is crossbuy/play with the Xbox version. Maybe that is why WB is so silent and isn't bringing XL to Steam, because this would be much easier and would combine userbases... Yeah, probably too crazy.

I'll just hope for KI to be alright for the PC and maybe we'll get Forza 6.

I hope this event doesnt come down to "hey you know all those steam games you love? Well you can now purchase them in the windows 10 store and you can play them cross platform with xbone players!"

if They're really going to push Windows 10 Store for gaming even beyond just Quantum Break, i'm sure things like full screen, vsync off and Sli support will be added without many problems.

If they don't get this stuff figured out soon - if they won't let us mod our own games' exe/binary files, etc - I will be very disappointed.

The wait isn't that long but I do think it should have been apparent from the start that this would be the case.

Microsoft didn't announce this event, they sent out press invitations, that was it. Im not sure what they need to be more apparent from the start about, Aaron tweeted about the event and when the embargo is, its not like they have been hyping this thing to hell and back as a major event.

They do an early event in the year nearly every year which is the same and they didn't pre-announce any of those either

If you give anyone on that side of the industry some wiggle room to tease your showcase with some autonomy, I'd imagine it's Geoff Keighley. And that's far from a leak; it's just hype for Tuesday which MS must want.

But MS wouldnt be distrubuting the roms just the emulators. It would be up to nintendo to crack down on rom distributers imo
