I have a real problem with being stubborn and going all in on an idea. Haha
Hehe just a smidgen, although to be super honest it shares more of Gitaroo man's DNA in that regard.
You know, I've never actually seen Gitaroo Man
*looks up on Youtube*
...wh...uh?
You know, I really miss fucking mental games like that being the standard. Just thinking about how
weird a lot of old games were makes what's mainstream now seem just so bland.
Examples: In Mario, you've got a fat man with a moustache who's fighting turtles and giant walking mushrooms.
Banjo-Kazooie, you're a bear who carries a bird around in his rucksack trying to save your sister from a witch who lives just around the corner by collecting jigsaw pieces and musical notes
Sonic, blue fast hedgehog with a double tailed flying fox friend fighting a fat science man who makes a
shitload of robots
Donkey Kong Country, various apes vs crocodiles who have stolen your bananas
Pokemon, catch animals in balls and make them fight!
Castlevania, one family constantly has to kill Dracula. They decide to use a whip as their main weapon. Also Dracula has Death as an underling?
Earthworm Jim...just yeah
not with that attitude!
Most people you know about in the games industry, both independent and corporate, have been honing their craft for several years. The ones who seem like they got off to a quick start were probably the ones making their own board games and similar creative works at home. It just takes time. Lots and lots of it.
Oh it's not so much that I don't think I'm mentally capable or anything as it is that every time I try I just get distracted and do nothing. Today I achieved:
1) I moved some code around a bit so I now have a few more scripts to try and organise things a bit better
2) ...no that's it I'm done
