Uncharted 4 delayed two weeks to May 10

The most anticipated game 2 years in a row is still getting delayed.
Watch it get delayed by 1 more week when it's closer to release lol.

Did they announce any bundles yet? Sorry, lot of stuff happening and i haven't been able to keep up and/or remember things like this lately. ...

Lmao, the crapgamer crew have "opinions" on everything

Pre-orders must be high if they can't even meet demand.
I wish they would at least tell us WHY it was delayed. This is the 3rd one, isn't it? November--->March, March--->April, April--->May

for everyone who has this preordered and expected to play it at each previous release date I think we/they deserve to know, you know?

Cool, delay it to 2017 if you have to. I'd rather wait more and have the last game of the franchise in its best possible state and the way the developers want it to be with no concessions due to fucking deadlines than have an underwhelming rushed game that needs three patches to be playable.

Keep ignoring the people who want it released now and still moan about unfinished games and neverending patches Naughty Dog, please. They have Assassin's Creed and plenty of other rushed products to satisfy their adhd needs and still complain later.

???? They just said it was delayed to meet demand, smooth launch and simultaneous worldwide release.

Did you even read the OP?

As you know, Naughty Dog is wrapping up production on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with the game on track to go gold and into production later this month. In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.

yes I read it but is that really it though? Manufacturing time so they delayed it because they're thinking it's going to be sold out? That's something they should've considered way before announcing any release date.

I dont get all the weird conspiracy theories over a 2 week delay :/

Well then say you dont think the reason given makes sense instead of complaining about them not giving an explanation for the delay. You have to ask the right questions

I would've been fine if they said something like "we detected a bug that for some reason we didn't notice before" or "the multiplayer server stuff still needs a little polishing to avoid lag" or maybe it really is about manufacturing the retail stuff and I'm just bugging out.

to be honest it is mostly frustration/annoyance. at psx they say they will hit march 18 and two weeks later they announce the delay to april. last week they release an awesome trailer with april date and now they delay it to may. as a huge fan myself, it is a bit disappointing the way they are going about it. i am very excited and am sure it will be worth the wait so no big deal in the end for me.

Wouldn't be surprised if pre-order demand increased exponentially after the story trailer released. U4 was trending like wildfire after it was shown.

agreed with everything you said up until the bolded. in the end yes of course this'll be worth the wait, but the game getting delayed again, even if it is two weeks later, is still a big deal imo.

Yes I understand that but issues pop up all the time that cannot be control.

That's okay. I have enough games to play and can wait.

I loved the first two Uncharteds, but 3 and Golden Abyss lessened my interest in the franchise. I wish they hadn't, though I still plan to play this day one.

Ah, and I lose even more interest in this game.

Whatever.

So you never even wanted to buy the game in the first place huh?
Cool.

What if their reason is genuine?
ND and Sony wouldn't just delay this game for shits and giggles a third time.

Seems like you want the bog standard PR delay excuse to help you sleep at night.

I just can't wait for this game to be out in the wild so we can stop the dumb "what is going on at ND posts."
Same

I have a feeling that if this is indeed a manufacturing issue, it's related to the special edition or the collector's edition. ND will of course make use of the extra dev time but given that this statement came from Layden it really seems like this is more business related.

Being out of stock for two weeks is a lot of lost sales that would go to used copies.

and like I said, that is something they should have considered long before ever even having any release date.

Then I'd like to know why!

I actually didn't even know about this delay until I came into work this morning. So by the end of the day if I'm having trouble falling asleep I doubt it'll be because of this, but that doesn't mean I (and others) won't be frustrated that it's happened. If they won't give a reason then whatever, I never said I thought the reason was illegitimate.

Sony wants to make as much money possible and imo, this game is going to be their Halo 3.

arne posts on the subject
Frothing demand.

Physical retail is still a huge chunk of console game sales.

I think you usually see or sometimes hear about the opposite, if at all -- compressing manufacturing time to hit a particular release (say console launch, I know because I was in one of those situations way back when). That usually ends up with "can't find X game" in stock at y retailer until the next shipment. Anyway.

I don't get what you're trying to say. You say you want an explanation despite getting one, you're acting like they won't give one, but also say you don't think their reason is illegitimate.

if it's really just for manufacturing purposes I just don't see why they wouldn't have thought of that earlier. but I did also say that maybe i'm just bugging out.
Are people really that upset over a 2 week delay? Holy shit people. It's just a fucking video game.
...this game was supposed to come out at the end of last year, and then it was supposed come out this month, and then it was supposed to come out next month, and now it's coming out in May. if you're over it then good for you, but people who aren't have a right to be upset.

I don't think I've ever heard of a game running out of discs at a retailer. Every big game I've gotten day 1 has had plenty. Can't believe they need an extra two weeks to make more discs when the "original" release date was still over a month from now. But maybe they are planning on working on the game until the last minute so that left no time to put it on discs? Idk, it's a bummer man.
