Yes, I noticed that...the numbers seem ridiculously low, particularly for the New York battle.

You don't think a government would fudge it's numbers even to the Avengers.

I mean yeah it looks bad on the Avengers to have people die, no matter how many really.

But it looks worse on the government. They're allowing the people who INVITE this sort of......"attention" to operate with no blowback and or punishment except maybe some bad PR.

2 years awa from Infinity War..

Are we really going to see The Defenders make an appearance in the MCU? Has this been confirmed anywhere?

How would DD's and Captain Amerca's stunt double fight himself..

I hope that everyone is included in the Infinity War.

Even if it's a small scene of The Defenders fighting Thanos' goons on the streets of Hell Kitchen.

I'd love more, but I'd be happy with that.

You know after looking carefully, it looks like spidey's eyes can enlarge as well.

Curiosity struck me, so I decided to trace the shutters in After Effects and animated it:

This is really cool. Thanks for this.

The low numbers for the Chitauri invasion also surprise me. No expecting huge numbers, but I would have thought a couple hundred.
Wonder if Ross'll reference the Dark Elves in London in the final film. That's a pretty big incident.
You would think. Nothing is suggesting it doesn't, though. They may have cut that from the trailer.

I don't get the love for that costume. I think it's ugly as sin.

It was cool at the time, but doesn't age well at all. It's of that period.

I hope someone dies in this. Otherwise it's almost a cartoon. If there aren't any real stakes then the movie could fall flat.

Needs to be someone major too. I don't think anyone is going to bat an eye if they kill off someone who was just introduced again.

What's more surprising is the government giving the Avengers shit for the casualties in NY when the world security council was ready to sacrifice all of Manhattan to stop it

Then again that was mostly Malick's call and now we know that dude is Hydra

Why is death needed for "stakes"? I never get this.

This movie is probably going to end with the Avengers heavily demoralized or even disbanded, they don't need to kill off characters with stories still to tell just for added drama. It's cheap and didn't work for Age of Ultron.

Also the helicarriers in DC were HYDRA too. Cap and Falcon stopped them from being Mass Murder Machines-why should the Avengers have to take an L for that?

Agreed 100%. I never get this argument.

Still not very excited for this - I find the plot just totally uninteresting (and so much of it is spoiled from the trailers anyways.) The Spidey reveal was neat, but just adds to the extent to which it feels overstuffed (tossing in Black Panther and Spiderman both.)

My daughter is going to drag me to it, though.

But what if the Troiler didn't actually spoil very much, and it ends being BETTER than Winter Soldier?!

What if?

have you guys seen the kid doing gymnastics... he fucking learned (or already knew?) how to flip around like spidey... im all in with this kid man!!! look at this shit!

Tom Holland is dedicated! (also this kinda shows that he will be doing a lot of his own stunt flipping... and that it might not all be CGI!)

Ok my fears are gone...good shit!

It must have taken place on a Sunday because a couple of hundred would have been killed in ONE building that they flew into.
Well they managed to keep it isolated to a small (relative to the city) section of NYC. Plus, the Ch'tauri were focused on the Avengers, and not on destroying random citizens -- something that Cap made note of when he was giving orders. Plus, the Avengers and the cops (and other emergency response services) were focused on evacuating people and getting them to safety. Still, the numbers do seem almost ludicrously low, a point I will not contest.

at the very least... a sneak peek at the suit, maybe in the background of starks tower or whatever base hes in. (but god damn do i love the iron spider suit)

I think the suit you see in the trailer is the closest you're gonna get to iron spider. I highly suspect tony made it

Spider-Man never had lenses in his eyes in the comics right? Just curious, because I never noticed that when reading his comics growing up.

Yeah he was a gymnast and street dancer before he took up acting, iirc. Bruhs trying to say he ain't Spidey are fooling themselves.

...

Isn't there the rumor floating around that says that Marvel does NOT want Tom to do his own stunts. If I were a high horse over there I'd never allow my golden boy to do flips and jumps. I guess CGI or stunt double, can't risk the actor breaking his neck doing a backflip.

I'd bank on him doing some flips and jumps unmasked a few times

Nah, my bet is
stark
only because Marvel want to keep their massive payroll for Infinity War in check.

But Evans only has one movie left on contract after this and it seems iffy that he wants to sign on for more (at least that's my understanding). So keeping him out of Part 1 for a flashy Part 2 revival makes more sense.

But in all seriousness
I think Cap gets put in that big prison at the end of the movie and they try to fight Thanos without him and then someone breaks him out either at the very end of Part 1 or the beginning of Part 2.

This has been my thought. They won't kill Steve but he will stop fighting and surrender to the authorities, essentially giving up the mantle of Captain America and Avenger. His image will be tarnished but he will at least find a way to save Bucky, and he'll remain out of the picture until Infinity War.

(No need to spoiler tag speculation FYI)
