I watched this again last night

I dig MCU and MoS and all that

But gawd damn, do I feel like we just settle after that movie.

The looks, the acting. The score.

It's so damn good.

Trailer looks gnarly.

TDKR made a mistake by not continuing to film in Chicago.

Actually, I believe based on other footage this is after the
booby traps
and before the two actually do any fighting.

Oh really? Awesome. I'm not too excited for the film as a whole but man I can't wait to see Batfleck in this. Such high hopes for whatever the next solo film they do with him is.

I'm curious, what comic book films would you rank above TDK in the visuals department?

I love all of the Marvel films, but from a visual and cinematography POV I would only put Watchmen anywhere near TDK, although TDK is probably slightly better.

I mean, this is the thing I'm having a little difficulty swallowing with this film - Batman would be crippled or very badly injured after a single attack from Superman. From the level of power he displayed in Man of Steel there's no way a regular human could fight him.

(They're obviously going to fall back on Kryptonite, but as a plot device I really dislike that. I hope I'm wrong and they do something more interesting).

How did Iron Man fight Hulk? Same comic book movie logic.

That's gotta kinda sorta freak Bruce out, right?

The reason he's even there is because he watched what happened in Metropolis and it absolutely shook him.

So there he is and Superman literally DOES IT TO HIM. Picks him up and flies him THROUGH A BUILDING. And then throws him across the top of it like he's skipping a fucking rock. In his own town, no less.

I was talking to a friend about this recently and I am going to guess Superman is actually holding back. They both know it's not a fair fight. Batman is banking on the fact Superman won't kill him, not like he killed Zod, and Batman knows he maybe can't kill Superman but he'll die trying. And then later they become best buddies!

This is no longer Nolan Batman based in the real world where he falls and hurts his leg, this is like a lot of versions of comic Batman who is a bit more resilient to such normal human restrictions. Obviously he has to be to fight such super human enemies. That and they will just explain that the suit protects him from damage, ignoring things like his brain liquifying inside of his skull from such instant force and speed but then it wouldn't be fun now would it?

Yup. I am scared seeing aggressive Supes. Reminds me of the Elite fight.

Maybe the sun hasn't been out for week and Superman has lost his juice or Lois is a firebomb in bed and Superman hasn't recovered yet.

Batman's brain would be rattling about in his nogging something fierce. It's a comic book though.

"If I wanted it, you'd be dead already"

What..?

You know film is a visual medium, right?

What? Visuals is the last thing on my mind when looking and talking about video games.

The cinematography of a film is absolutely worthy of discussion. It isn't a radio play.

And it's not like this trailer added anything worth discussing from a story perspective.

I think it's because art is such a big deal in comics.

This post certainly did a number on Movie GAF didn't it.

i'm not trying to say it's nonsensical, or unworthy of discussion, just that I haven't seen or heard of it before. that's all. carry on.

Of course, he holds back even against his enemies.

Of course, he holds back even against his enemies.

A fully unhinged, unleasehd Superman is almost completely unwinnable against. If he went at full strength he would easily level ALL of Metropolis in a fight. There's only a select few of his rogues gallery, such as Darkseid and Doomsday, that he can actually afford to go full strength at in a fight.

This is the movie for the graphics whores.

We're on maxed out settings while everyone else is still on their 360s.

That's fine and all, but can it run Batman v Superman?

I really don't like the cg there. Batman stepping off of Superman just looks bad.

Thought it was an actual suit, except for the arms? I remember Ben saying something like that.

It's almost as if it was based on a comic book or something.

In a huge suit of armour that was continually destroyed and replenished? And MCU Hulk is nowhere near as powerful as Man of Steel Supes. In The Avengers Hulk gets knocked down for a few minutes by a group of aliens' concertedly firing on him, while pretty much nothing stops Superman in Man of Steel.

They won't. And Batman will probably 'win' the fight. Which sucks.

He must be using Kryptonite though, as in that newest trailer when Supes tries to punch him and he blocks it, Clark looks visibly shocked.

EDIT - not trying to shit on the movie or anything, and I'm sure with Snyder directing it will have good action; I'm just curious how they're going to frame this as anything approaching a fair fight.

One part kryptonite, one part Supes holding back.

While the bolded is true how do you know that the suit of armor Bruce is using here is not way better than the one Iron Man used? It is based of comic books so not sure what more they can do. Also Supes gets bodied by Faora and Zod for quite a bit in MOS as well.

Also Kryptonite is most certainly involved as is Clark's kindness that restricts him from giving that little bit extra to take out Bats.

Because his mouth is exposed. Just punch him in the teeth, Clark. It'd be like a One Punch Man fight.

Really ought to be anyway.

lol yeah that is true. His mouth should not have been exposed but hey it looks cool so whatever.

I thought they weren't doing the Kryptonite thing with this Supes? I'd bank more on Superman just simply not expecting Batman's suit to be able to block his punch and so he's surprised that it does.

Not a big comic book fan or knowledgeable of them. Maybe I am confused of the whole premise of this movie. Wouldn't superman just crush batman without even breaking a sweat.... Does batman come into some knowledge of kryptonite?

Watch the movie to find the answer to that ;)

Kind of sounds like a dick response, but I mean that's something you should watch the movie to see if they answer, no?

Like we clearly see Bats "compete" with him, the hows we don't exactly know from the trailers.

Ironman falls from the sky and gets hit by sidewinder missiles, but this you find amusing. Obviously the body armor sustains some damage here.

My assumption is that Batman is going to take advantage of the fact that Superman doesn't want to kill anyone. Superman is going to be surprised at home much of a genuine threat Batman is.

Batman will have done his homework and will play Superman like a fiddle.
