Personally I absolutely loved Man of Steel. Can't wait to see this. Everything I'm reading sounds incredibly positive.

All this bullshit about "Batman should've been dead in that suit", "Wonder Woman looks like shit", "movie looks dark and gritty and that sucks because it's not Marvel", I don't give a damn.

I went into Man of Steel expecting nothing but trash, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a grandiose movie, not without flaws but nowhere near the garbage it was made out to be. I see no reason why this one won't be the same.

Yeah, I agree. MoS is everything I wanted to Superman Returns to be. WB finally gave the director the budget to do a Superman movie right. IMO it's the best superman movie to date. I find the Reeves movies to be boring.

I really enjoyed MoS, but I did think the Krypton bits were silly with flying dragons & all. Once it got to Earth, everything was good

What did Superman ACTUALLY DO.....in that movie to make someone emotional ?

The only thing I can think of, is when he destroys the world engine AND EVEN THEN....it's the music that drives the emotion there not his actions.

The scene with Laurence Fishburne and the female reporter who is trapped under rubble and looking into each other's eye as they think they're about to die was more emotional than anything Supes did in that movie.

I feel like I'm part of this group of people who can call a movie on its bullshit and still enjoy it. Whereas the people who like Man of Steel are actively choosing the route to ignore this movie's flaws because they feel it's some sort of indictment on it.

In fact. This is how bad the flaws are in that movie. That unknown to ALL OF US. Batman is traversing the city during the final act of that movie.. That is SO MINDBOGGLINGLY COOL.....that it improves the movie tenfold.

I have no problem with the people who like the movie. It's their reasoning I CAN NOT understand.

MoS steel was enjoyable almost simply because it was different from Marvel movies. That's not an anti-Marvel statement: But you can only take so much snarky, one-liner filled technicolor superhero action from one studio, nevermind several studios. It's a blessing that DC does something different, at the very least. I'm no Snyder fan, I really quite disliked Watchmen, but I thought MoS was fairly successful at what it did. The villains were fun, some of the action had some real weight to it. That's about it, but it's solid enough. 'Returns' is shit.

I liked MoS.

Soundtrack was great. Action was great ( i still say it's better then any CBM), Cast was solid, and at the end of the day it was nice seeing a modern day Superman action movie.

The flaws. Flat/bad writing, tried to duplicate Batman Begins too much but didn't work, and nit picky shit like SEARS/IHOP, Jesus comparisons, OMgz Superman destroying the world.

All of the flaws turned it into a generic forgettable CBM. But there was enough good to be hopeful for the future. I was hyped as fucked for a Batman/Superman movie. But knowing Goyer was involved pissed me off since writing was THE major complaint. Once Ben came on board and took over the story, theni became hyped. I enjoy a lot of his work.

Bane was reminded (by probably the only person he cared about at that point) about the most horrible thing that happened to him. He was taken back to that place emotionally and got teary eyed for a second. It made him much more than 'here is the villain, such a monster'. It showed he was also a human with feelings. Also, this Batman did. So what? Different interpretations and all of that

Zod is a whole other story.

It was a well directed film, Routh isn't bad, the casting outside of Lois Lane isn't crappy. Spacey is Spacey so you knew he was gonna deliver.

Cinematography is nice.

All the problems of that movie come down to the script. Land mass Krpytonite ? One night Stand Superman. Hey, Kid has got powers, seriously where the fuck were they gonna go with that ? lol.

Kate Bosworth's big ass forehead. Granted, not in the script but it might as well have been.
