heh, I actually agree! I don't have a problem with that scene insofar as it doesn't fill me with venomous disgust as it seems to do to a lot of people here... there was definitely a better way to transition Jonathan being sucked up in the tornado, but as is, I think it's fine.


Here's how you make Superman killing Zod actually mean something: build up to it! At no point in the story does Superman wrestle with the idea of killing Zod as cutting off his last ties to his old race, at no point in the story does Superman wrestle with the idea of killing period. Clark's moral conflict in the movie begins and ends with "Should I use my powers?" Which is fine if the movie was going to end with sending Zod back to the phantom zone, but it doesn't. And the idea of Superman taking another life, having the power to take another life -- and someone of his own kind, who knew his father, even if he's a genocidal villain -- is never broached at all before it happens, so when it does happen, it's just kind of...there.
 
Nolan knows how to cut a good ending. I've never seen a bad ending scene from him in my life

Hell I have a feeling he was in goyers ear for that man of Steel one

While I hate all of Watchmen, I couldn't agree more about comic book movies having bad third acts.

Deadpool might have had the worst of them all.

I haven't seen this movie, but in my minds' eye, my perfect version of this movie would be something akin to the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven or Lawrence of Arabia. Maybe throw in an intermission for effect. I love epic storytelling, it's what got me into this medium. Go big or go home.

Correct character but wrong movie and scene. The scene in Winter soldier when he visits Peggy Carter and we see him react to her Alzheimer's is so damn emotional. Might be because i've had Alzheimer's in the family but man did that scene get to me.
 
I thought Man of Steel was the drizzling shits.

This movie is going to have to be REAL fucking bad for me to dislike a Batman movie.

I liked Batman and Robin.

I liked parts like you show, but they are different than the Supergirl gif, or old school movies. I think the reboot even had some of this, where you feel like your flying with him. I don't know, I'm explaining it shitty. I don't hate the flying in MoS, but there's something off about it at times.

The weirdest part about Clark's story and probably MoS as a whole is that when met with the only major dilemma that's discussed in the entire movie, he decides to seek the council of a random priest. Not his space-dad. Not his mother. Not even Lois. He goes to a priest he's never met before. Wut.

This isn't going to change your argument any but it's implied the priest is the same kid that bullied him in the flashback just before.

In the previous episode she helpes young kid who was being bullied. And that's how the show just opens.
Man of Steel superman would have beat up the kid and joined the bullies. Then went to his parents house and shat on his mother's front porch.

Man, that looks so freaking great. That looks more like the superman i want. Is Supergirl ever coming to Netflix or what? It's impossible to watch that series here in Sweden.

Probably in the fall. They usually put a show up on Netflix like a week or two before the next season begins airing.
 
To be fair, Batman & Robin is the only live-action Batman movie where Batman doesn't kill someone. Sad to think the shittiest movie is the only one to get that right.

Best thing about dofp ending, aside from the great music, was that it was literally singer and fox apologizing to the audience for ratner's x3. Felt so cathartic watching that
