Doomsday's explicit lack of a penis was more jarring than if he'd been born wearing pants.
After the JL reveal, I turned to my brother and said "did they just show a JL preview in the middle of this movie."I can't believe they just had Wonder Woman* plop down on her computer and have the audience watch teasers over her shoulder for other DC heroes movies one after the other.
Well the movie wasn't really ever subtle so I don't know why I'd be surprised.
Edit:
*whoops
Metropolis and Gotham are sister cities, seperated by the bayI cannot tell if this film is utterly riddled with plot holes, or if I am just missing a ton of vital information because I kinda lost interest in following the plot. Here's several issues off the top of my head:
How close are Metropolis and Gotham supposed to be? I thought the two cities were supposed to be relatively far apart, but I guess they are like right across the bay from one another? Why does Lois Lane need a plane ticket to go to Gotham in one scene, but arrives reasonably fast in a helicopter later? How many miles of open country did Batman cross while Doomsday was chasing him back to Gotham?
How did Batman find Martha Kent?
How did Superman and Batman find out each others' secret identities?
Why did Lois chuck the kryptonite blade down the well? How is it that she decided to retrieve it even before she knew what was going on with Doomsday?
Why would Luthor chuck Lois off a roof when he has no indication that Superman even knows about the peril she's in?
Is the ability to exclusively hear his loved ones in peril a part of Superman's abilities? Or is that some bullshit thrown into this film and then immediately disregarded?
Bruce knew where Martha was because he had been tracking the Russian mercenary guy (KGBeast?) earlier in the film and it was him who was holding her for Lex.
Why would Luthor chuck Lois off a roof when he has no indication that Superman even knows about the peril she's in?

Alfred tracked the Russians just in case?
How did Superman and Batman find out each others' secret identities? Supes heard Bruce with that ear piece at the party and assumed? Batman is the worlds greatest detective and hell Lois figured it out years ago.

Is the ability to exclusively hear his loved ones in peril a part of Superman's abilities?
If that is the case shouldnt he know Ma is in trouble and where she is?
Or is that some bullshit thrown into this film and then immediately disregarded?

What about his mom? Maybe the gag and duct tape prevented hearing herThe Africa scene at the start was partly set up to determine if Superman would come to Lois' aid. He just listens out for his loved ones being in danger in particular
Russian mercenary dude is one of the background hydra guys in Winter Soldier. Took me out of the film more than anything else.

Which film is better, Spider Man 3 or BvS? They both seem to suffer from "Let's try to cram too much shit in this film" syndrome.
Probably to get it out of the way for Clark.
The second part is, AFAIK, a legitimate plot-hole.
The Martha thing was genius.
This is Bruce Wayne, a man who was so distraught and traumatised by witnessing his mother being murdered that he decided to dress like a giant bat and fight crime for 20 years. It works, because Batman is fundamentally and continuously recreating the image of his trauma. He's fucking crazy, that's why it works.
The Martha thing was genius, and I am sure no one saw that coming.

Terrio did his job here.

Well when she was first captured he was off being mopey in the snow and not paying attention, then he came back when he heard Lois being pushed and is immediately greeted by Lex telling him he has to kill Batman to save his mom. Superman then reacts incredibly emotionally, instead of pausing and thinking it through
But why didnt he know she was in trouble. Nobody told him Lois was thrown off a building. Was he told she was in Africa? He never had a chance to look for her.
Lex made him go to Batman, and then Batman got him to go to Doomsday.

I didn't think it was genius, but I did like it a little bit. I'm not sure why Superman would refer to his mother as "Martha" though....that breaks it a little bit.
I hope we find out the Joker's mom is also named Martha. It would explain the one and only reason why this version of Batman hasn't killed him yet.
Well, Superman thought it through insofar as he wanted to get Batman's help to save his mom instead of just rushing over to kill him.
But why didnt he know she was in trouble. Nobody told him Lois was thrown off a building. Was he told she was in Africa?
Lois only spidey sense?
to go get lex luthor, which let them release doomsday.
Over to the crashed ship for the Doomsday reveal.
The events are concurrent and not edited well to convey it. Keep in mind, Batman is returning at or after the nuke. As Bats is saving Martha and the warehouse fight, Superman confronts Lex and fights Doomsday into space.
It's pretty big in the Superman mythology that he always swoops in at the last second to save Lois or someone when falling off a building. It's used humorously in 52 when depowered Clark does the same as he knows Nova- the new hero in Metropolis- will catch him.Why would Luthor chuck Lois off a roof when he has no indication that Superman even knows about the peril she's in?

The Martha thing is one of the rare things in the movie that works.
He clearly knew she was in Africa. He's her live-in boyfriend and she's going to a wartorn region of the world to ask a terrorist if he's actually a terrorist. I'm just fanwanking here, but I don't think it's unrealistic for him to be in the area, watching out for her.
Gotham and Metropolis are sister-cities, separated by a bay and a bridge, in New Jersey. Think west coast equivalent of San Francisco and Oakland. They are literally right beside each other.

They obviously speak a different language in Gotham to Metropolis and have completely different media, politics and business. It's the only plausible reason that Clark Kent has no fucking idea who the fuck Bruce Wayne is.

It amuses me that they immediately ruin the moment by cutting to a shot of Martha Wayne's grave, just so the dumb-dumbs in the audience can understand what's going on.
Well, Clark didn't know him to look at him. We actually had no reason to think he didn't know who Bruce Wayne was at all.
That's still kind of silly, granted, because Clark is a reporter and Bruce Wayne is a localish billionaire mogul. Like, I could guess that some randos don't know Warren Buffett at a glance, but if you work at the New York Times? You probably do.
