I liked the Dark Knight Rises as well.
It wasn't as good as Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (and I still think Batman Begins is a better movie than The Dark Knight; the main thing that movie has going for it is Heath Ledger's Joker; I think Batman Begins is better paced and acted all around; well, Katie Holme's Rachel Dawes is a little out of place, but she's not bad in it.
Rises was a good movie. Not great. Not phenomenal, but a good movie. It's absurd that critic culture has devolved into categories of "GOAT," and "Dogshit." There is room for movies that fill in that expansive gap between the two extremes. The Dark Knight Rises falls into that category.
Batman v Superman isn't even Dogshit. It's just not very good. Nor is it very bad. I personally think it's worth a rent at the most. I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it either. It was wasted potential overall. I wrote a long ass review about it, so I won't repeat myself here. I don't really think adding MORE to the movie in a 3 hour cut is going to do it many favors either. Personally, I thought there should have been less movie, not more. 2 hour run time, with some unnecessary bloat cut entirely (mainly the JL setup stuff that would work as after credits stuff, but really bogs the movie down when inserted into the main plot).
I'm very curious about fan edits of this movie, because I feel like the movie could be much better if it had better editing.
