Game Informer May Cover Reveal: Final Fantasy XV

So the game starts with
the car breaking down after the opening sequence.
I knew it!

So the beginning is essentially
Duscae?

Got the issue via Google, but can't read it quite yet. Will definitely see about picking up a physical copy at GameStop. Hopefully they come in soon.

Official Spanish Twitter account tweeted this:

Looks nice! I'm hoping the engine sword we see here is still somehow in the game.

No. The car just breaks down earlier
. The entire scenario around it is different.

FFVII:R news: They are looking at the FFXIII model for the episodes. Three full games?

The game does not start in
Duscae, yeah the car will break, but they said Duscae is not the initial area and we already saw the Lucis outskirts, which are in japanese game cover

Get
Duscae.....
out of the way early.

Guys, there's a reason it's spoiler tagged...

There are dialogue choices that seem similar to older FFs.
Also looks like they kept Cindy for the western release...

Yeah, the game doesn't start
in the same place as the demo.

It looks to start in Lucis, on the way to Altissia. The car doesn't break down in Duscae, though.

There's an undisclosed opening before all that, though.

Whats the opening sequence??? Please tell me we get to explore Lucis or see it before it gets shitted on...

I wonder how they're doing the remake there. You know fans will not be happy no matter what way they gut the game into parts, especially if they take years to be put out.

I think that painting is Regis, Cid, Cor and someone else as seen in this artwork, Tabata said before they were a group of soldiers in the past fighting against Niflheim:

Like the old Noctis/Noctkid painting, it might be a past event which Regis holds dearly beloved. (:)

looks so cool, second guy from the left kinda resembles Ardyn

So is the father alive through the game? Been following this on the periphery and everything just screams DEAD DAD. I see him in a bunch of media, but don't have a real clue as to how much he's involved ingame. Everything sort of looks like it's just Noct & crew against the world.

Either way, that father/son angle looks fucking cool.

Expected and I have no issue with it as long as each game is feature and content rich

Yep, I'm more than fine with it, actually excited about it as long as they handle it right. Each game needs to be packed with content. Full scale releases if they are really going to do multiple games. Expand out the story a bit with stuff from the expanded Universe and let us explore larger versions of the game areas. Make Midgar an actual huge sprawling city etc.

Ardyn shows up fairly early it looks like. The crew tries to take the ferry to Altissia and he stops them telling them service is suspended. At this point they don't know of the invasion.

Seemed rather pointless, tbh

I appreciate your honestly, tbh.

I think this game looks alright, but JRPGs are riddled with cliched pretty boys from no-name villages fighting some great evil/empire. If this manages to tell a great story, cool. But the genre's track record isn't exactly stellar.

What's the best option for a digital game informer subscription? Just the 12 month gamestop one?

I'd like to make sure of this guys. I've never subscribed to them before and I don't mind going for multiple issues, but I want to make sure I'm going with the most affordable option. There's no 24 month digital sub is there?

Four quest types - for fun (fishing/chocobo race), main story, monster hunts and regional quests. Currently over 200 quests and they're working on more.
