GAF is a forum where some people say The Order: 1886 is ugly, because it overuses post-processing effects.

Yea I'm not seeing the ugliness either...looks good to me considering all the polishing is happening as we speak.
PC snobs breh. If it's not running in 4K/120fps the game is trash and looks ugly. I said it before but the people who are pooping all over this games visuals are basically port begging in my opinion.

Edit: Don't mean for that to come off rude, but it's not uncommon for this stuff to have been played by GI or similar outlets MONTHS before it actually goes to print.
No but i'm actually surprised they were allowed to capture video footage when they played such an early build.
Outside of one part in the video I don't find this looks worse than Duscae.
This pre-beta build was completed last year where their focus was on getting the game completely playable from beginning to end with all mechanics in place.
God I hate Noctis's run.

it's not so much that the game is aesthetically ugly, it's just that the aliasing is REALLY distracting in this game.

Agreed. It looks inline with Duscae in this footage. The real issue is IQ and AA in this footage. To me, the scale is really impressive.

There are some pretty glaring graphical/technical shortcoming shown off in this footage.
I'm just not worried because I don't really have a doubt in my mind that it'll look a lot better by launch. Also the fact that this is "pre-beta" footage, so it's not surprising it doesn't look finished.
I really like this dock and the interior, feels like an actual vacation spot.

Some people are going to say any game is ugly, no matter how it looks. Someone will always be able to find some flaw, and they're going to bitch about it, no matter how inconsequential it may be. It's just the way it is.
Ouch, graphics certainly looking bad in that footage. IQ is pretty bad and the draw distance is weird, especially in that hut at the sea part. Noctis running animation is terrible, it gives me Mass Effect vibes like he is doing too much effort to run sooo slowly. Game looks fun otherwise.
Can't wait to see Costa Del Sol in the FF7Remake, too.
The way Tabata described this area really reminded me of FF7. It felt like a combination of Costa Del Sol and the Gold Saucer: A vacation spot that houses the majority of recreational side-activities.

Looks like they first meet the purple-haired dude in the Maldives Resort Place, judging by the footage in one of the trailers.
It's like they meticulously modeled it after the first few steps of a track and field sprinter's 200M dash, but then instead of getting him up into a normal running stance, they just keep looping.
So he's like pushing off the ground with each step as hard as he can, exerting 120% effort with nothing to show for it.
