I will not be able to play the game until a few weeks later, but I suspect it will still be $60 then. For those who have played through and finished it, would you say it's worth the full price tag? Also, about how many hours should I expect it to last me as a completionist who likes to collect and do everything? I keep hearing 10 hours, but a firsthand confirmation would be appreciated.
Can't answer any questions about the game content, but it's currently $47.99 on Amazon for a physical copy. (Assuming you're thinking about the Xbox One version) Think some $45 deals are popping up soon too.

Without a doubt yes. I was skeptical but quasi interested pre launch and took a leap by preordering a couple days before release. I'm beyond glad I did. It's my GOTY so far this year.

Really? Interesting. I thought the $47.99 offer was only for Prime members up until the second week post-launch. I'm a Prime member myself but I can't justify getting the game right now due to school.
It has technical issues for sure, and it sounds like Jack has change in his pocket when he runs, lol, but it's a fantastic experience. Remedy are great storytellers. The action gets really great once you unlock all powers. Buy the fucker and love it.
I don't want to spend this much time on it, but I could write an essay about everything Quantum Break does wrong. It is the most forgettable video game I have ever played. It reminds me of what games would look like if the CD-I and 'Hollywood Multi Media' were mega hits. The story is all over the place, none of the characters are developed whatsoever, there is no attachment to anyone, the acting in the games is only compounded by the god awful acting inbetween each act starring Shitty Chris Evans, Overacting Seth Green, and Failed Abercrombie Model That Looks Like She's Always Going To Cry or Laugh.
The writing is so god awful that there is literally a random goon saying,
'I can't wait to kill your wife'
(not really a spoiler but seeing as this is thanos-gaf and all) and a random, out of place speech about how the idea of God is dumb. The only thing you will remember about this game if you play it, which you shouldn't, is that Lance Reddick kills it at these god awful lines he's fed.
The sets of the live action parts are so fucking sterile, the acting is so bad across the board from everyone that's not named Lance Reddick or Shawn Ashmore(which is a pointless trait because Ashmore, who plays the game's protagonist, is the most boring, cliche, video game programmer self-insert protagonist with ZERO DEPTH explained in the whole game), an incredibly poor selection of weapons where half the assault rifles feel the same, the awful attempt at an American accent by Dominic Monaghan, the powers that are cool for like 4 minutes and then just feel pathetic and weak with a completely uninteresting upgrade system.
I don't even want to call the game trash because it doesn't deserve a label that means it did SOMETHING. It is the most bland, mass market produced looking game I've ever played. It is the USA Original of video games, it's like those mid-tier shooters from last generation with a bigger budget(like Wanted: Weapons of Fate or Binary Domain -- but both those games are more interesting)
I will not remember Quantum Break a year from now. I might not even remember it a month from now other than a waste of money. And that has nothing to do with the port on PC and everything to do with the game itself. And I'm not much of a picky gamer considering I've enjoyed other 'middling' games like Mad Max and Far Cry Primal and the standard Ubisoft fare. This game is somehow more bland than an Ubisoft title. Just think about that for a minute.
Easily worth it. One of the best games I have played in a long tme. Game length varies depending on difficulty. I am not a great gamer, but I am playing on hard and it is taking me a bit longer to get to the finish.
You also have to remember, there are many branching paths, so replayability is something you will want to do. Overall, I think it is a fantastic game and easily worth the price of admission.
I think it's pretty mediocre. I'm not a fan of the show and that hinders the game's quality as a whole for me. I'm at the end of Act 4 so maybe it gets better at the end, but depending on your tolerance for Syfy tier programming, I'd wait till it's cheaper. Fortunately the gunplay and time powers are solid enough to warrant a playthrough.
I think so. Took me about 16 hours on hard for my first run looking for everything. Plus you'll want to play again to run through and make different choices collect the different collectibles stemming from those choices. I can also see myself coming back to the game again just to redo combat scenarios. I think it's totally worth $60.
Although I like it, it's doesn't touch Alan Wake or Max Payne as one of Remedy's best games. It is decent though, it will take you 10 hours to complete. Price wise 10 hours for 60 dollars is fine in my book.
I finished it last night and am not sure how to answer you. Last night at this time I was ready to sell it due to my disappointment, but now I'm ready to dive back in and have another go. The combat is fantastic (no hip fire though, unfortunately) and really encourages a level of aggression that would get you killed if you didn't have so many powers to use. Most of the characters are interesting enough, the voice work is exceptional and the story engaging. The live action bits were a miss for me, but YMMV.
My major complaint is that there just isn't enough combat and what's there isn't much of a challenge. I played on hard and didn't have any trouble save for a
bullshit final boss
. I rarely felt like the encounters or the spaces that they occurred made full use of your powers, which was disappointing. I'm going back to it tonight thinking that I'll enjoy my experience more now that I won't be distracted by collectible or cutscenes.
If you want a unique experience and are the type of person that likes to replay games, then I say it's easily worth your money. In fact, despite my initial disappointment I'm still glad I bought the game. You'll constantly see some amazing effects and you'll most likely have a hell of a time learning to combo your powers in a bid to turn every encounter into the lobby scene from the Matrix.
Yes. It's far and away my GOTY so far, and I have the embattled PC version. The port has (somewhat overblown) issues, but the game's so good I hardly care.
I also wish there was more variety in the encounters. The mechanics themselves are fun but the game never feels like it truly capitalizes on the potential of stringing together combos with the powers you're given. It's the same dudes that can go down quite easily and you can breeze through most of the game on Hard by just abusing Time Rush and Time Shield when you're about to die.
Yes, even more so here as there is no multi. The old excuse of "collectibles" isn't good enough. Otherwise every Ass creed game would have extremely long play times.
I am currently in the middle of the video after act 1. As of this moment, the video seems 100% pointless, and the gameplay itself is fine at best. I'd have to check in later, but as of now, this game seems ok.
It isn't insultingly bad by any stretch, but it isn't innovative or particularly interesting either.

Not all of us are so tight with our money. 10 hours for $60 is plenty enough value for me, and there are obviously people with more money that also like to constantly replay games. Your opinion is nothing more than that and probably isn't worth much in this thread if you're going to say that collectibles aren't "good enough" when OP clearly disagrees.
Yes! Great game. Great characters, engaging combat that encourages experimentation, hell i even enjoyed the tv show in a cheesey network tv kinda way , though prepare for a

How would you even go about that? Except for skipping the entire story, putting it on the lowest difficulty (casual?) and making no effort to find the collectibles (which offer a lot to the story) and power upgrades?
In which case, you might as well not bother playing it at all
It may be possible, but you will find next to no enjoyment doing that and shouldn't bother if you are going in with that purpose in mind, its completely pointless.

But what about games like Resident Evil HD that unlock extra play modes and content after beating them and getting better (which consequently means requiring replay value)?
Replay value like achieving alternate objectives can increase play time is said person wants to spend time on the game. QB's main issue seems to be that there is no New Game+ with all the time powers (I think, someone correct me on this), so its replay value is hindered and as a result, becomes more bland due to the beginning being not very interesting gameplay wise and being in a tired Genre.
Assassin's Creed doesn't really make many of it's collectibles meaningful (Some are though and make for sometimes neat challenges) and its core gameplay is very flawed, you don't actually want to spend time with those mechanics because of the dull and repetitive design.
Does that look cool to you because doing this made it worth the purchase for me. I even enjoyed the story and TV stuff, despite it being a bit low budget.
Best Buy gamers club unlocked for the 20% if your in the USA. I beat it on hard and collected a majority of the things(didn't read all them) in a little over 10 hours. Well worth the money imo.

If you are in the USA i'd just wait, no doubt there will be sales on it sub $40 and/or its a great choice for a b2g1 free sale.
I enjoyed order 1886 for $10, at $60 I would have felt mad at the game. I think QB is gonna be the same, as long as it costs me $20 or less I think it'll be a great buy, but at $60 no chance.
