What most of you here on GAF fail to realize, living in your little bubbles, is that fedoras are cool and get you the ladies. Keep living in ignorance.

What's wrong with fedoras?
We've done this in so many threads before. So many gaffers have posted their own pics saying they can pull off fedoras, only to realize they really can't. Just don't open this can of worms. let it go.
to follow up on my previous post, wait for the fedora wearing dude in this video:
I've got a pony tail. You want to fight about it?
When I hear "stereotypical gamer," my mind goes to a 20-something frat boy that only plays multiplats like Call of Duty and Madden, but still takes console wars way too seriously.
I'm wearing a straw fedora right now.
Come at me fashionGAF

Many miscellaneous "geek" guys started wearing them some years ago and it kinda became a thing, the problem was many of these people were obnoxious, loud MRA types and atheists that wouldn't shut up on the internet until the fedora became their symbol to detractors.
This. Exactly.
I love this anger towards atheists that you seem to have.
It's almost as though their crimes, instead of having a few loud annoying personalities in their ranks, with dubious fashion sense, were, you know, murdering people, or setting back humanity by trying to stamp out criticla thinking and science, or preaching intolerance against our fellow citizens because of their sexuality, or protecting priests who abuse children, or any number of terrible things the religious do.
Nah, those damn fedora wearing atheists! The scourge of humanity!
You're doing the thing.
Thread is now complete.
Frankly, I think that's kind of cool. It'd be cool if I had a cross-stitch of one of my favorite video game characters, Nightshade, from the 1992 game, who wears a fedora...I knew a guy who legit cross-stitched 8 bit characters.
In fact, I didn't even know what cross-stitching was until he explained it to me. He was fedora-destined.
In a vacuum, nothing is wrong with fedoras. However, it's a formal hat and should be worn with a suit (although it's an outdated style now).
Many people wear them now but while wearing casual clothes (and bad ones like cargo shorts, sandals, flame shirts, etc) which just looks awful. These are the people who think that anything modern is bad because it's modern and true men are "classy" and so they dress like they're from the '40s and '50s when "men were men".
The way the fedora is shaped makes it look good on someone with a strong jaw and clean haircut. The people who stereotypically wear fedoras now are usually not in shape, either being too fat or too skinny, with bad facial hair and a bad haircut.

It's almost as though their crimes, instead of at worse being about having a few loud annoying personalities in their ranks, with dubious fashion sense, were, you know, murdering people, or setting back humanity by trying to stamp out critical thinking and science, or preaching intolerance against our fellow citizens because of their sexuality, or protecting priests who abuse children, or any number of terrible things the religious do.

The second guy on the bottom left kind of looks like Jim Sterling, but if anybody asks I didn't notice that.
It was all this person.isn't this what that one guy looks like? The one gaf loves who gets a thread every week who is outraged about video games?

I don't have anger towards atheists, the explanation i gave does not reflect what i think towards neither gamers, atheists nor hats, but rather what i saw the origin of the whole stigma the fedora has gathered in the internet, and how i have seen the word used against atheist, even in OT people will poke fun throwing "tips fedora" and gaf is actually pretty atheist slanted.
Someone asked what the origin of the fedora mock was and before it was used to mock neckbeards and MRAs in general, it was used to mock internet Atheists and that was in part because the picture i posted (as far as i know, the quote is not even attributed to the person in the photo, someone likely just attached the quote to it).
Doesn't mean i support mocking atheists, just pointed out it factually was something that happened.
And it's not like religious people don't get mocked in the internet, and much less here on gaf anyways.

wouldn't unshitting a katana mean shoving it up your ass?
M'lady.Where else would you put a Katana?
This thread has exceeded my expectations.

Played Yu-Gi-Oh with a guy in High School who swore I was his Rival because I always beat him. He challenged me to an "Ultimate Showdown" and came to class wearing a fedora AND a cape.
I beat him then never spoke to him again. I think he works retail.
*unshits katana*
got a problem with gamers, gentlesir?
Maybe it shows my age (mid 30s) but that's not the stereotypical gamer I think lol. That just sounds like a hipster. (I'm from Oregon lol)
Did you just install a mirror
