This is what happened when consumers make a countdown of a financial briefing.
Eh, I don't think it's quite as out there as it's been for some other financial briefings. This is a timeframe where there's significant recent precedent that we could get some deets about the next system(s). Even still, we have gotten plenty of tantalizing tidbits at past investor briefings so I'm not convinced it's a mistake to look forward to these to begin with, as long as expectations are kept on check. But again, this one is potentially a bit of a special case so I am hoping for some info or a timeframe of when to expect it, and based on Nintendo's previous reveals that seems reasonable.
I realized that, but the point is that this isn't part of Nintendo's communication to customers. This is us literally looking at corporate reports and extrapolate what we're going to play in the next year. It's not stupid, not even close, it's just....unique. It's kind of fun tbh.
I'm so burnt out. I expect nothing till E3.

But the chances are when the countdown reaches zero you get nothing for the next day or so.
Folks I am just as keen to hear about the NX as anyone else but can we all calm down and stop speculating..... its a financial report which means there is no requirement for any details of the new system other than projected sales.....
Right after the meeting, neogaf will be flooded with comments about nx. Hopefully it will be good rather than upsetting..
Even if they would do a detailed, in-depth unveilig the next few days, it's still Nintendo, so we're probably not getting any technical spec at all. Same applies to E³.I mean
how many details do we truly expect to come out of an investors briefing though...

No guarantee anything will happen.
I'm in full on Nintendo safety mode: Expect Nothingstill get dissapointed ;____;
Primary thing which Nintendo need to make sure with nx is that it has ingredients to support relevant features of Middleware as it is on other platforms. It doesn't need to be 4k just enough to support those features but must be bit better than ps4. This is also to give assurance to consumers unlike wiiu. If Nintendo captures good number of consumers in the first year many of the third party will start supporting them. But the games within the first year should give all type of genres to create understanding which type of consumers are there. Nintendo marketing and strategy people have big job to do..
Worst case
We are releasing a console and handheld with some software which will give us this much revenue
Reasonable case
We are releasing a console and handheld with some of the big software names which give us this much revenue. Something about the nx ecosystem. Full reveal will be at e3
Best case
We are releasing a powerful console and handheld with these specs. Show the picture. Show the list of partners. Pictures. Nx ecosystem. E3 for more info

Worst case for me is them not mentioning a handheld at all![]()

Are there two different meetings?
-Tonight Nintendo will release their report.
-Tomorrow night (Wednesday night/Thursday morning in America), will be when Nintendo has the investors meeting where they tell the investors what they have prepared for the future.
So what meeting are they having after they release their report tonight? I thought what matters is the investors meeting which is actually Wednesday night/Thursday morning where Kimishima sits up there and presents the presentation slides?
The problem is that Nintendo is falling into irrelevancy, so it'll be even harder for them to get the masses to give a shit. Competing with the industry leader will get Nintendo nowhere. If they want to make more headlines, Nintendo has to get their own spotlight without having to share. As for the time to hype, having so many Directs during the summer may burn people out on the platform if Nintendo isn't careful.Yes, I'm aware. In fact I expected this response because you usually do it almost like a copy-and-paste
I don't think this is a real problem, actually. The PS4K and the supposed X1.5 are not a sure thing for this year and even if they make an appearance, they're just revisions of existing consoles. I think I read somewhere Sony even won't make PS4K exclusive titles. Besides, those consoles are apparently launching next year, people will hype the closest releases. The PSVR is a closer competitor for this E3 and this is "just" an unproven expensive peripheral and don't forget the people can't experience it if they're not in Sony's booth.
If the PSVR and the new revisions overshadows NX this E3, being a completely new console, supposedly full of new exclusive games, a new brand concept, and the culmination of years of internal work and restructuring at Nintendo, then the NX is not that good and won't matter if they show it tomorrow or at the Expo, IMO.
You also keep saying again and again about the "time to get the hype" and I don't get it, honestly. The hype will get out the roof (if the games are there and they're good) in a matter of hours/days. And then, Nintendo will just need to keep the hype doing mini Directs across the summer. In fact, even if they show the console today, if the product isn't good, the hype won't be there. Keep in mind even the years that Nintendo kinda screws E3, many people believes they're the "winners" just because some games or the presentation. It's easy the get it right: Nintendo just needs to do the opposite of E3 2012 lol.
Anyway, I hope I'm wrong and they show the console and games before E3 and don't do it staged across the summer, but I sincerely doubt it. I'll gladly eat crown though![]()
It's pretty crazy we might get a press release within 20 hours or so, if the pattern continues.
Yeah
Their silence at this point speaks to me as being confirmation that they are lining up for E3
Their silence can also mean that the have nothing to show.
Too lateIt's a financial briefing, lads & ladies. Don't forget that.![]()
