Btw is this the first time that ign has been lower than expected apart from that God hand game ? Figured it would so be a non ign site which gave it a sub 9 .

Ps obviously haven't played it just first time seen ing rate something lower normally they score games highish

No. This gen they've been below the average several times. LBP3, Until Dawn etc.

Delicious!

Holy fuck that's a lot to read through.

Alrighty, I'm even more excited to play this game after reading nearly every review. It looks to me like some of the newer additions to the gameplay/set pieces are ND trying to one up Uncharted 2, or at least add enough to the formula to make things seem fresh for seasoned players. I don't think this game needs to be the revolutionary jump that Uncharted 2 was. If this is the last game in the series, I kinda want a borderline sentimental story for these characters, and it sounds like we're kinda getting it judging by the reviews.

I'm glad ND didn't feel the need to reinvent things gameplay wise. Uncharted has a formula, add to it! I guess Jim Sterling didn't like how predictable things got? His opinion. I think a lot of people are going into this game knowing what to expect.

I guess the only thing that doesn't sound to exciting is the multiplayer. Grappling looks like a fun addition to map traversal, but those magic powers look like they'll get old, fast.

This is looking like the PS4's first true killer app. Congrats to Naughty Dog! I'm ready!

Whoa at the scores and reviews.

Its a damn difficult month. I wanted to re do the trilogy but only managed the first game.

This, Doom, Overwatch... Sigh...

Uncharted 4, will be bought this month and hopefully completed this month.

"It was so exhilirating watching [Indiana] Croft destroy a marketplace where working class people earned a living, or causing thousands of dollars in property damage, and to hear him shouting WHOAHAOAHOAH again and again. I like the way he says that when he's doing things that are crazy and dangerous. It reminds me so much of that Tom Jones!"

"They are just a few guys, galavanting around the world leaving death and destruction in their wake, all while pillaging sacred ruins, taking items that don't belong to them, and robbing natives of cultural artifacts that belong in a museum. You know, typical American stuff."

lmao that Sony fanboy skit

Hmm well they did have Greg and Colin leave . I actually haven't seen the new podcast ppl is it still entertaining ? I like Brian and Silva . Just used to go to ign all the time before just found gaf.

- Far too much padding
- Far, far too many pace-sagging artificial roadblocks to progress

This is what Videogamer has in their cons. What exactly is padding? Not sure what they mean with the last bit. I'd read the review but I don't have the time now.
Are you asking what padding is in general or what in the game they consider padding? If it's the former padding is basically just like throwaway gameplay or like a drawn out fight or sequence serving to artificially lengthen a game.

Congrats Naughty Dog on doing it again.

Has there been another studio that has had such a consistently high average score for a decade? ND have had Uncharted 1 with a 88, Uncharted 2 with a 96, Uncharted 3 with a 92, The Last of Us with a 95 and Uncharted 4 will probably be 90+.

Rockstar has to be up there in the 90+ category as well.

Reading some reviews, I canywait to see those graphics everyone are talking about, it sounds like ND far exceeded the expectations in that regard.

As I've maintained, difference standards in the industry now. People are looking for "open-world" multi-faceted titles (evident already in some of the reviews criticizing the linearity) as opposed to games that do one or two things, even if it does it extremely well.

Uncharted 4 never was going to win any awards (save best action game) from the start; even its creators publicly stated that they felt they were at the end of the road with it. But I'm happy that they never phoned it in and still made a great swansong out of it.

A 93 rated game can easily win the majority of the GOTY this year. You do realize that this ties for the highest rated game of generation if it holds? I don't see anything else releasing this year that looks much better.

Also LOL at Deus Ex beating this out and say that as a huge fan of Human Revolution.

Gamespot 10/10 trust them completely.

IGN wth? wtf? I can't believe this. Jesus they better have good reason for that's score.
