Druckley are my favorite duo of this industry. They have now proved TLOU was not a shot of luck. These guys are the best in the industry IMO.

I wholehartedly agree. I am yet do be disappointed by a game they are involved with. Not only that but by their interviews they seem very genuine and people that love what they do with a passion. I trust these guys 100%.

It must be an incredible feeling have 4 years of work met with such high praise.

4 stars translate to 80 on MC, so it can bring the score down even though the reviewer see it as a 9.

You did not understand me. Because of that, he would rather give it a 5/5 if it's a 9/10 for him, rather than a 4/5.

Always remember, 5/5 doesn't mean it's a perfect game.

Uhmm whoa, nice scores. Hoping it stays at 94 if only for the symbolic value :p (even though I think that seems a tad unlikely)
Really excited to try the game out myself, Sony would be smart not to lose these guys over at ND.

Positive reviews, but Uncharted 3 also had extremely positive reviews, and that game is pretty fucking underwhelming.

I would disagree. I feel like it was disconnected but had higher highs, and lower lows than Uncharted 2. I also think the expectation for Naughty Dog to innovate Uncharted 3 in a similar way to Uncharted 2 was an impossibility. Uncharted 3, however, personally resonated with me because they took alot of Islamic lore and incorporated into a game.

Same here. Any game they make I'll always keep an eye out on. I don't know how they do it but the consistency of the quality of the games they put out floors me.

Those Kotaku statistics are probably the best things i've seen.

"Time spent in cover" "Enemies defeated"

Cause honestly the poor combat has been what held back me having a better opinion of Uncharted.

Oh sorry, read it wrong.

And it's pretty surprising they gave 3 a 10, you're right it can happen here as well.

Oh god some of the comments...

@MrTomFTW Hi Mrtom here is the question., why doesn't QB or Rise TOMB RAIDER deserve a review score but UC4 does. Is it just a that UC4 is better than those two games put together or is it something more?

@MrTomFTW Hi Mrtom so you agree UC4 is better than QB & TR put together considering both of those games couldn't get a review score. And going by metacritic scores QB scores 77 and TR scored 86. Please you may kid yourself but EG clearly has a Agenda to push don't we agree.

If we're going by that metric then clearly UC4 can't be better than Quantum Break and Tomb Raider put together (unless it's scoring 164 or more on Metacritic, I didn't check). But if it teamed up with Bloodborne, they could easily give both those xbox games a wedgie and steal their lunch money.

Some people on twitter are biting their fingers hoping this game gets a 96, but I sincerely doubt it. Even if ND manages 10 more perfect scores, I doubt it'll move past 95. If anything it can only go down from here. I predict it ending up at 93 all said and done. :)

Would be nice if it could reach 95, though I feel it'll either stay at 94, or drop down to 93 as scores tend to drop a bit during the tail end of the review cycle. Guess we'll see.

I don't really have the time available to playthrough all those, but if it will soar the experience of 4 without playing them, then maybe I'll have too.......

Edit : Ok, looks like I'll have to play all the previous games then!

Honestly, you don't. Judging by previous entries, the games are all light enough plot wise and thematically that there's no deep lore you'll be missing out on. I'm sure there'll be lots of callbacks to past characters and events, but they're Hollywood popcorn movies designed to be accessible to a broad audience.

I liked them all, but they're also all fairly similar, plowing through them all in a row before this one will likely burn you out on it. If you want to play them then cool, you'll enjoy them, but it's not mandatory.

This metacritic score basically confirms UC4 as the big GOTY winner this year. I really cant think of another game that could top it. Maybe Persona 5, but that one is too niche for the media. It will be UC4 all over.

We literally posted this at the same time. A 95 or higher might not be possible this generation ;).

Uncharted 3 had some dumb design choices but was still a great game. Will never get the hatred it brings out of people.
Classic game didn't meet my personal expectations and thus it's a massive failure. Uncharted 3 is a lot of things and it's fine to not like it but to characterize a game that does the things it does as 'underwhelming' feels damn near dishonest.

It has to compete with Final Fantasy 15 and Persona 5 from what I'm seeing.

Replaying Uncharted 3 for the Nathan Drake Collection showed me that it wasn't a bad game at all. It just wasn't as good as 2. Combat was much improved and it's goddamn pretty on PS4. UC2 is a high bar. UC3 missed it, but it's a great game.

Great scores! No game can have 9s and 10s from everyone so everybody just relaaaaax and wait for tuesday to play this!

So Bruce Stralley and Neil Druckman(i probably butchered their names) are really on fire aren't they? After TLOU and UC2 they made another great game.

Maybe people were expecting a quality jump as big as 1>2?

Absolutely that. We are talking about videogame fanboys. Everything has to be innovative, break new ground while being the best game ever till the next best game ever comes out next week.

Totally agree. Honestly, this is one of those times also where personal preference really kicks in. Uncharted 3 was far more globe trotting, puzzle based, and cross-cultural. The Jinn sequence and the Islamic Lore tie in were something that had me almost teary eyed.

However, Uncharted 2 also had the biggest wow moments in gaming going for it at the time. Replaying it reminded me, no matter how long it's been, the ups/downs/and cohesion presented in that game were almost unparallel to any thing ND has done since.

If Zelda really is the big evolution / departure from OoT that Aonuma claims it is, I could see it scoring an average of 95 or above. That's going to be a very tough feat to pull off though.
