One of the only recent games where my opinion was totally out of step with Jim's. Really odd.The technical aspects of a game are not the only thing the matters or even matter at all to some. Clearly the gameplay, world, exploration, etc. allowed Jim to overlook those flaws
Absolutely AMAZING.
ND did again.
Looks like reviewers are not harsh at all... quality titles get great scores.
Pretty much. I just finished it and its pretty damn good. Best graphics of all time and your mind will be blown quite a few times from it. But Jason is right in the sense it's not as good as TLoU and the story doesn't come together perfectly even if I loved the end. Early chapters are a chore to replay and in the end there isn't as much innovation as in the earlier titles. It makes sense since it's the 4th entry in the franchise, but I can't really see it having a lasting impact besides the graphics. So in the end it's a pretty good game, but not the second coming of ChristProbably greatly exaggerated scores.
Its still goimg to be a good game, but my personal trend with ND games is that they're never as good as the media lets on,except for the aspect of spectacle.
We'll see.

So is there any game that will come even close to this for GOTY this year?
Especially when the bug riddled, janky animation, performance dipping, bad dialogue snoozefest story of FO4 with the 9.5.
Both QB and UC4 bury that game on those fronts.
But whatevs, opinions and stuffs.
Can't not wait until Tuesday!
Wall of shame yet?
if it is just an impression it is ok. But still surprises me since those are very different games despite sharing some things. maybe a TR or QB would fit better.Jason didn't review UC4 for Kotaku. But he played it. It's fair to compare UC to TLOU IMO. And people are interested in his impressions.
to some degree. The story doesn t seem the best point to start. Compare it to Mario Galaxy since you can platform in Uncharted too.At what point can you compare any two games then? This is made by the same team and it's the same genre. It's perfectly fine to compare to some degree.
exactlyAnyway, the story of TLOU was a big hook for people. U4 is a much better game from a gameplay and location standpoints. The story just isn't as compelling, but that's to be expected from a lighter Uncharted tone.
Someone should do this lol.I think there's actually enough posts waiting for meltdowns to make a wall.

Yeah, as you say, Fallout's game design is ancient and unpolished, it's technically a piece of trash especially on consoles, and tge whole thing just feels bad to play.Technical prowess of a game is a blip compared to actual gameplay design.
Fallout isn't very good there either though. :/
Perhaps the shadowing makes it seem larger than it is. It stood out to me, also.Erm, why is her nose that big? Maybe a bad screencap, but here she looks bad compared to UC2's Chloe..
Interesting to hear Colin (Kinda Funny) say he has issues with the game mechanics, but he's not the only one I've heard say it either. He went as far to say it's not in the upper echelon of TPS.
It's a massive step up from previous games - at least it felt that way in the beta - but I'm not sure it's receiving universal acclaim for its gunplay.
Then again, UC's mechanics have always been a point of contention. If it feels right for you, who cares I suppose?
The fuq they did to Chloe?

TLG? Not in a million years.
The fuq they did to Chloe?
No.This is somehow a surprise?
Multiplayer character model?
2. UC4 takes place only 3 years after UC3, which he loves, so why would Nate suddenly age dramatically that he can't do this stuff like slide down a hill and run about and climb stuff just as effortlessly as before?

Idk, Chloe has always had a unique facial structure and a prominent nose. Multiplayer model looks fine to me. She has more in common with her UC2 model than her UC3 model for sure.

haha takes me like two months to be a metallic fossil when I stop working out.
IMO, the TLOU and UC comparison is gonna be easy to settle. Whichevers game has the tone you prefer, you'll like more.
This is taking out the impact of TLOU sort of pushing ND to the heights that it did and simply comparing them on a game vs basis.
There's definitely an argument to be made for both but they are so wildly different. I slept on it and still haven't been able to make up my mind on which one I consider "better." They just do different things better.
I'm still thinking TLOU = UC4. One thing is for sure, the pacing between the two is probably be most similar thing. But still not the same.
