I like to think of stepping into Uncharted as being the same as stepping into a reality distortion field. Things don't make sense if you look at it closely, and for some people this is ignorable, and for others it isn't. Why do people disagree? Because of 1) differences in priority and 2) how much they'd like Uncharted on graphics and gameplay alone. Simple as that.
Also, once you get into an argument or lambasted in brick tons of negative comments by members of the fanbase that will deride you for thinking negatively of the series in any way that's related to ludonarrative dissonance or etc., it's hard NOT to just suspend your disbelief and not take it seriously while constructing a personal opinion about it in preparation for a public review, no?
Either way, I forgive Uncharted and am on that "let's go with the psycopathy" boat because I just like the way Naughty Dog does it. That's all. Their characters don't repel me because my persoinal preferences tolerate what they do and I think Uncharted has solidly cliche, self-aware writing, and thus allow the violent gameplay to complement, rather than set back, the story. It comes down to the person in the end; it's not just this opinion's stupid, this opinion's not as stupid. Depending on the reasoning, yes, an opinion can be stupid -- but as long as we remember there are always reasons, no matter how different.
