so is this gamings Citizen Kane 2: The Kane Strikes Back moment?
So the sense I've gotten from impressions and reviews is gameplay is better story is halfway between uc and tlou and set pieces too are in between ?
Edit the only thing I have a hard time taking in is uc1 is scored higher than uc4 ... other sites like say giantbomb or Jim sterling I can get they've always not been sensational ign is surprising to me ... not saying it's wrong just surprising
OH YES. I didn't get to review Uncharted 4, but I did at least score my copy five days early thanks to my trusty local video game store! They even stayed open 15 minutes past closing time because I was in a screening of Captain America: Civil War when they called and the movie ended too late for me to get there before closing. They're the best. <3
I CAN'T BELIEVE UNCHARTED 4 IS FINALLY HERE AND I'M ABOUT TO PLAY IT. One of my top three most-anticipated games of 2016 to be sure, alongside Final Fantasy XV and Rhythm Heaven Megamix. See ya'll on the other side.

While I'm sure UC4 is amazing judging by the reviews I think you're slightly harsh on TR here, at least if you're talking about Rise of the Tomb Raider. The crafting and weapon upgrades was great of course but it was the combination of that and the cleverly designed sand box open world levels with almost Metroid-like gameplay that made RotTR so great imo. Makes me sad that the exclusivity deal stirred up so much negativity, the game was among the best of the gen at the time. Sounds awesome that UC4 is even better though.Uncharted 4 has better graphics, story, characters, and gameplay
Tomb raider just has a great rpg element in upgrading weapons
I'm Avoiding the reviews, any word on how long it is?
What engine does ND is using now?
14-18h. So The Last of Us length.I'm Avoiding the reviews, any word on how long it is?
15-18 hours from what I've seen, not including cutscenes

Thanks ... They're complaining it's too long. My God, what the hell is happening here?

Really? Too long can't be a real complaint. Too short can be (like The Order 1886 or Quantum Break without TV stuff) or too empty and too repetitive can.
And I'm still here grinding DS3 covenant items while waiting for my shop call![]()

To be fair, Giant Bomb has the same complain saying that "it run a few chapters too long".
if it is short, will complain because it is short, if long because long.
If linear, needs to be openworld, if it is more open, it is boring to explore. If no shooting, pacing issues, if too much shooting, he is a serial killer.
really people just can't enjoy games these days.

Well I mean... Games can be too long. 18 hours sounds a bit too long to my taste, but we'll see.
Have you never played a game that you felt like was too long?
A game can absolutely overstay its welcome. The opinion that a game can be too long is definitely a valid one.
Having not played Uncharted 4 myself, I can't say whether or not I agree with them in this particular instance. I will say that I did feel Uncharted 3 dragged on at points, so I wouldn't be completely shocked if this game did the same. Then again, I found TLoU to be perfectly paced.
I wonder how many millions they will sell, considering?
- GREAT reviews
- 40 million install base
- Naughty Dog track record
- Lack of first party AAA games
I deliberately drag games out so I can experience them for as long as possible. My first playthrough of TLOU took me 23 hours and I loved every second. Their comments about what they think this will score has me worried. They say it's likely to score lower than 2 or 3, but it's the look to camera at that point that makes me think the comment is a precursor to a lower score from them. Te guy in the middle (can't remember his name) looked decidedly sheepish when he said it.
I have no idea.Metacritic? We need more 10s there.
That impression was recorded BEFORE embargo.
What they're saying is that internally in IGN, they already know what their score is (8.8), but they're curious how other outlets will score it because among 4 IGN staff, they don't have the same opinion of UC4 as the broad majority, so they're assuming maybe other outlets are also sharing the same opinion as them.
They're really stopping at 4? Why not 5? =/

Don't worry, Sony will milk it to death. Only naive to believe this is the last Uncharted
What's so bad about 4 lol?

It's death in Japan

Reviewers have to play a lot of games in a given time in order to get their reviews out. I think that's why some of them say things like this. We, the PAYING public, like to get as much for our money as possible. I know I do.
