The facial animation for this game is beyond anything I've ever seen in the medium, it even shows up the likes of Second Son and Killzone Shadowfall.

I just read videogamer.com's synopsis, please tell me this wasn't a spoiler

I thought it was better, but not by much. TLOU's intro is really good, and this just barely edges it out. There's reason I feel that way which I will not disclose lol

Hmmm, I got my dispatch email this morning but I've received the game on the Saturday before a Tuesday release from them for as long as I can remember.

I liked it better then TLOU's intro. It does a lot of things, really really well, which puts it above the TLOU intro which really does one thing extremely well.
Play right now, and then play the neo patched version with modifiers on a higher difficulty.

Looks like all the local shops here in NY got them in today. Tempted to pick it up but I might just wait it out until Tuesday for the discount through BB. Really tempted to pick it up today though..

Quarter to three should be banned from metacritic. Their content of their reviews are very poor and their criticisms are so fucking ridiculous. Theie final ratings are not a good guide to follow at all.

Yeah Amazon is showing Wed the 12th for me, and I ordered it last June. Usually those arrive launch day though, so I'm not worried. It is departing Montreal today, and being shipped express. At least it's not showing April 26th anymore

Tom Chick / QTT is the very rare case where review complaining may be legitimate. The reason it may be legitimate is that the wildness and contrariness of his opinions -- not the scores, but purported opinions about game design and such -- suggests he may not be being sincere but rather a sophisticated troll. In the movie world, see Armond White.
Of course this is difficult to prove, but over the years he evidence piles up.
That said, it's but a minor outlet. If he wants to do his thing and troll, okay. Maybe he's even sincere.
I'm forgetting the various examples, but like I recall he wrote that he doesn't give a single fuck about Mass Effect's characters or story and is only interested in what kind of shooter gameplay is in each installment. However, he enjoyed ME3's ending and specifically pointed this out. Like, "normally I couldn't give a fuck about ME story stuff and just ignore it, but the one exception is the ending of 3." He also found Alpha Protocol a classic or something.
Of course this is difficult to prove, but over the years he evidence piles up.
