Definitely. Enemies do a good job flanking, and cover is often destructible. They also removed the ability to throw back grenades, which again encourages movement by forcing you out of cover.

I almost never threw back grenades in U3, anyway. My first instinct was always just to roll out of the way, conditioned by U1 and 2.

Yeeah, can't say I remember a single song from U2 or U3. And I just finished them both a short while back.

So the OST complaints are really a non-issue for me.

An unrelated question, but does anyone know since when youve been able to download the PSN version? I got bored and decided to check on it and it let me download it. I have slow internet, so it's be nice if they let me know as soon as possible.

I have Uncharted 3's soundtrack on my phone. I found it fantastically memorable.

I'd listen to it now, but it would make me want to play the game and I can't burn out on Uncharted so close to launch.

Since yesterday.

The gun play os so sosososo much better then the first 3. Its so fluid. Rolling snapping, impact. Melee. Ita phenomenal. I'm gonna have to stop every few chapters. Gotta savour this shit.

I have seen some video clips on youtube like most people, but I haven't played the game myself or seen it at length.

The animation is very strong but as far as the overall presentation I've seen nothing, at least not over youtube, that convinced me that it was better looking thann ROTTR on PC (and yes, I know a decent PC is much more powerful than a PS4, but I'm responding to the statements I've read that peg UC4 as the best looking game ever).

I'll make a final determination once I actually play it. ROTTR is also very strong in the animation detartment, by the way, and the detail of Lara is somewhat astonishing

It really depends at what settings & resolution ROTTR is set at.

Having played UC4 (Haven't finished), I would say UC4 looks better then ROTTR at 1080p MAX Settings. Where UC4 shines is the graphical consistency and art style. Quite amazing considering how much weaker the PS4 is hardware wise compared to a high end PC. Really goes to show what proper optimisation can do.

ROTTR at 4K though well yeah, it looks better then UC4 lol

Could you imagine if Naughty Dog developed a game for PC and used the same level of optimisation for high end PC hardware, as they did for UC4? Wow. We would see graphics way a head of our time.

I've heard people say that it heavily encourages movement especially with the new slide and rope. Also heard that ND removed the grenade toss back to encourage movement, but that's not 100% confirmed; at least to me it isn't.

Confirmed. You can't toss back grenades.

Also, most cover degrades with gunshots. So you have to move.

Anyone know why a lot of the reviews have not been published yet? Are they waiting for the video embargo to lift?

Was going to do my review now that I've finished the story, but MP isn't live at the moment. Could be some wanting to play the MP before publishing a final review.

I've had no time at all to read impressions, etc. Just curious, how is the platforming stuff? I'm really stoked to use the grappling hook in SP. I'm hope for some high-tier platforming/puzzle stuff from ND this go-around.

None of the platforming is particularly challenging or puzzling. It's very obvious stuff just like the other games. Sometimes you're just wondering where to start climbing.

I can't download my Digital Deluxe Edition for the USA Store.

I try on the PS4 and get an error message of WC-40360-3 and there seems to be a few people getting this now. With other games people have recommended downloading it from the web store but it just shows that I've already purchased it and there isn't an option to download.

The payment went through exactly as it should but I seem to be stuck like this.

Does anybody know of a PSN customer services email address that I could contact Sony about this on? I spend my life in the UK and USA and I'm in the UK at the moment so I'd rather avoid phoning.

I've never had any issues buying from either region before. :(

In order to download from the webstore, your PS4 must be set as primary. Then you click on your PSN ID at the top next to the shopping cart and go to Download List. It should be there to download.

It's set as primary, we use the web store all the time to buy and download stuff, there's just no option to download this.

Much further. Chapter is called The Monastery. It's the part where a big door is locked, and you have to climb around. Elena asks you to be "subtle." As you climb around you'll start a fight in this tower, and once you reach a low floor, the whole thing will collapse, with people coming at you across a bridge. If you have some grenades and a decent weapon with ammo like M4, should be fine. But if you waste it all fighting in the tower as you climb down... you can get screwed after the collapse. Checkpoint should have been earlier!
Oh dear...

Thanks for the heads up!

DF article should be out Monday, that is going to be amazing.

dark here alreafy said it's the most technically advanced console game in the market, that what ND has done here is a game changer, and that they are using some techniques he wishes other developers would follow.

So yea, it's going to be one of the most enthusiastic DF, with a lot of praising :)

This werent on my radar but looking forward to reading that now. Game does look like a technical game changer.

DS3 is great, but I feel like it played as expected. To me GOTY should be beyond expectations. We'll see by year's end to see what game went beyond most people's expectations.

It seems they are waiting for the media embargo to pass, so the article will probably have lots of locations spoilers and other pretty technical stuff that we didn't see yet, I wouldn't recommend reading it until you finish the game.

Dark Souls 3 says hi. Its MC score may not be as high but it's a damn good game for this year.

DS3 is been there, done that. And feels entirely too uninspired for a Souls game.

Can't wait to see From leave that lore and world behind. BB proved that they have some fantastic ideas to be shackled to the now boring world of DS.

Yeah, the Bloodborne story/lore is so much better than Dark Souls. I can't wait to see what they do next.

The bosses are underwhelming, beside
Nameless king
. Most of the bosses are so gimmick.

I don't get the point, though.

It's still a great game that is also a game of the year contender, just like U4, that's my point. When people retort this, it sounds like they're trying to dismiss DS3 as one of the best games this year.

Having finished U4 I actually think it will age worse than any Dark Souls game. Dark Souls gameplay is almost timeless. The only groundbreaking thing about U4 is the visuals and photorealistic visuals always age.

U4 even moreso "been there done that." It's a fourth game entry in a franchise.

Nah, DS2 will age worse then UC4. That's practically bound to happen.

UC4 introduces more into the franchise then DS3 did and feels fresh compared to past entries.

Who's talking about DS2?

If you say DS3, I can't agree.

Maybe so but U4 didn't introduce that much more. In some ways, it's a step backward (the set pieces).
