Enter The Gungeon |OT| Praise the gun

Awesome. Nice one. How many friffle challenges are there, seems to go on forever. Will prob be last trophy I get too. The master bullet one will be easy now I unlocked boss rush mode.

15 in all. And since you seem to already have all the shortcuts unlocked, that will help a lot with some of the later quests that require you to kill, say, 30 Shambling Rounds or 30 Shelletons. Gives you the option to just farm the later floors, which is admittedly very tedious but still much faster than trying to rack up those kills through standard runs.

And FWIW,
the quests technically do go on forever. Once you finish the 15th quest (five Dragun kills), they offer bounties on random enemies with a reward of five credits for each one completed.

Just got to the 6th chamber for the first time. Still haven't faced Lich. Some of these trophies are going to be the death of me. Bringing 6 keys and 300 rounds to the 5th floor is a pain.

To be honest that one wasn't that bad. I recommend the pilot and just lockpick everything and buy nothing. Works out to 1 key and 60 casings per floor.

It's funny, at first I thought the Pilot was the worst character because of his terrible starting gun. Then after playing a while I thought he was the best character because of the lockpicks. Then after playing more I realised the picks aren't that valuable and decided he was the second worst character. But now I kinda think he might be the best again simply because of how powerful it is to have two active item slots. I just beat the Lich quite easily by alternating Elder Blank and Air Strike, ended up with five full hearts and four blanks left over. Good active items are pretty common but the ability to carry two of them is rare.

I've always thought of him as the best, though the majority thinks that it may be the Marine. Lockpicks is really useful for when I'm low on keys or don't want to blow my keys on brown chests. No one every talks about his ability to hold two active items and that's his best ability compared to the other characters. It's so good when I get potion of gunfriendship and double vision and just massacre everything.

There 15 hunts for Frifle. It'll probably be most peoples last achievement due to how long it takes to grind the kills.

The Hunter's dog has to be the worst of the starting abilities/perks. Rarely finds anything for me. I think Pilot and Marine are the best starting characters.

The dog is a lot better than it might seem. Over the course of a full run it's going to find you a TON of stuff. It's especially good on the last floor where every health or ammo drop is super valuable.

Man, this game is a ton of fun.
Played it most of yesterday and got to the end of the 4th floor.
I like the Hunter and the Marine best as starting characters,
the crossbow is really good in clearing most rooms in the 1-2nd floors.

Also I'm about the unlock a shortcut to the 2nd floor. Is it even worth the trouble?

You get unlocks for each shortcut, so yes.

I'm really surprised that even after dozens of hours I'm still reevaluating the usefulness of different guns. I hated the unfinished gun for ever, but now that I was forced to use it, it's actually pretty decent.

Yeah they worth unlocking. The rewards are worth the effort of adding to the loot pool. Is a lot of hassle but getting boss rush at the end is a nice reward.

poison, angry bullets, backgun, akey-47, blueprints, 2 master rounds, and more and the game goes slideshow and crashes as soon as I start the 3rd boss =(

Game never crashes on crummy runs.

100 hours in this game and I had never come across this room until now:
JeutYoY.jpg

Found by accident in a 5th floor secret room. Toss a gun in their pot and you get a new one in return plus a curse increase.

shortcut requirements are pretty insane

Wish the enemies were less bullet-spongey and there were more synergistic combos like in Isaac.

Still a pretty awesome little gem. Probably the best roguelike this year so far.

Other than the money + keys ones, it's pretty easy to get it incidentally but either way it's not really worth focusing on. You lose out on so much health and items by taking the shortcuts that it's basically not worth it other than for practising floors.

Worth it for farming friffle challenges. Once you've beaten the Lich there isn't really much to do. Worth it for boss rush too.

I finally took down the
lich
.

Can't say the final fight was that difficult thanks to good old gunther, fat bullets, wax wings (I could basically stay out of range of the boss' bullets) and the old knight's flask.

Anybody on PS4 having issues with trophies not popping? In particular, I have died now twice in the past (on purpose) to unlock the the Time Paradox trophy and it hasn't unlocked either time. Maybe I'm doing it wrong...I beat Dragun, run up the path, travel to the past (like where I'm flying the Pilot's ship) and I die. Is that how you're supposed to unlock it?

This was a bug on the PC version that was fixed in one of the patches last month. It was specifically a problem only with the Pilot's past, none of the others. Try with any of the other characters and I'd bet it unlocks fine.

Oh, thanks for clarifying. Just my luck that both times I died were with the Pilot. Oh well, no big deal.

Liking the game a lot. Just got to the Floor 5 boss for the first time.

Unfortunately the PS4 version has frozen up on me during level generation/loading multiple times in the middle of runs and it has frustrated me greatly. I really want to be excited to move on to each floor but instead I just feel dread and fear of it locking up and losing out on a potentially good run. I was sweating at that Floor 5 load.

It sucks the PS4 version is so unstable. I literally didn't have one single freeze/crash during my >100 hours with the game on PC.

yaaaaaaaaaa

finally beat High Dragun for the first time.

Literally saved by the last upgrade I picked up on Floor 5. Had effectively 2 hearts left to do the whole fight and picked up Backup Gun and that with comr4de fuckin wrecked him to hell and back.

After buying the cute little bullet plush that comes with a code for the game, I have played this around...15 runs and so far made it to the 2nd floor once. I thought my Isaac skills would transfer at least a little bit to this game but NOPE. Holy shit I am bad at this. This gonna be an uphill battle.

Can I earn the Lead God trophy in Boss Rush or does it have to be during the regular game. I noticed that even if you perfect Dragun, the Boss Rush just immediately ends so I'm not sure it counts as getting a Master Round.

Picked Gungeon up again after I enjoyed it for about fifteen hours at launch. It was tough getting back into the game. My record before starting again was reaching the fourth level boss. However, on the first runs after picking it up again, I only achieved very modest results. Often died to the bosses on the first two floors. When I was lucky, I reached the third. On the last run, I finally managed to reach the fourth floor boss again. I never fought the kill pillars before. If you are new to their attack patterns, you really don't stand a chance. It was just a surprised expression on my face when the bullet hell exploded all around me and then death. One heart damage is tought. Especially when you think of the scarcity of hp. That Deckard and Hexagun carried me until that point. It was great fun. Someday I will own that game...

Man I gotta pick this up again. Got derailed by Uncharted 4 and Dark Souls III. REALLY wish it would come out on Vita because I have a week long vacation and this thing would be perfect for that.

Just had the best run EVER

Went to the secret floor and found gunther (first time using it but i heard it's OP)

Bought wax wings on the 2nd floor. Beat the 2nd chamber boss and got clone. At this point im literally flying through rooms in a matter of seconds so i figure this is my best chance to get lead god (i already perfected the bosses on chamber 1 and 2)

Got super space turtle somewhere on the 3rd floor. Spazzed on the boss and got hit

Flew through chamber 4 but got hit on the boss. Same thing with Dragun.

Get to bullet hell and die (purposely). Go back to floor one and i'm set on just stacking blanks to make up for my terrible dodging on the last few bosses. I do just that and end up perfecting the last 3 chambers which got me lead god.

What was also great is that i had enough resources to complete the shortcut unlock for the forge being that i looped through the game twice. (I had to ditch my wax wings to go down to the tinkerer which was some bullshit)

Afterwards went on to bullet hell and beat lich on my first try.

Feels good

Finally got lead god trophy.

The last section with dragun bullet hell my heart was beating so fast I could feel it in my wrists whilst griping controller.

I almost did it the run before but got hit by a fps dip fucking up my rhythm so I was proper shitting bricks.

Did it on Boss rush. The easiest way to get it is with the clone item though as you can get the same master round twice with that method to count as separate rounds.

Forgot to save video straight after I did it. but managed to get it from the end of the third floor bosses

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9MrsKoBipc

just friffles boring ass challenges to go and ill have "DAT PLAT"

Yes I can confirm this. I have done it. You only get one Master Round per Chamber, for example, and not one for each boss in the same Chamber if that makes sense?

Also, does anyone have any tips for the Cartographer? I feel like I have met him in every Chamber now but he still hasn't returned to the Breach - Is there something I am missing? I am completing his map and speaking to him again for the reward.

I believe he is bugged

I thought I met him in every chamber and finished his map, but I found him again in the forge and he even said we've already mapped it out or something, but I did it again anyway and it unlocked, then he sits on the stairs in the breach after.

Think it was patched on pc but PS4 still hasn't had a second update yet. Only thing that's annoying about this game is the lack of patch support on PS4.

Its my GOTY so far even over the amazing UC4. I'm just more into arcade style games lately.

Oh damn, thanks. It does feel like it is broken, very annoying. Not as annoying as being on a well prepared run last week and reaching the 6th Chamber only for it to crash on the loading screen. And then attempting to die in the past with The Pilot only to realise that character is bugged for the Trophy as well.

It's a good job the game is absolutely amazing everywhere else...

I just had the most amazing run cut short by a game crash. Somehow on the first floor I came away with three gun knight armor pieces. Second floor I found my first rainbow chest, containing several amazing passives and a Polaris which was incredible. By the 5th floor I had both lead skin and gun friendship potions, 8 hearts, 9+ armor, master rounds from floors 1-4. Get to the fifth floor and things are going smooth, my Dragun fight was jammed, but I only got hit one time, so I had a truckload of armor and health going into bullet hell...but the elevator led to an endless generating screen. Fuck, that run felt once in a lifetime, and I dont know if I will ever have as good a chance at my first Lich kill.

I clearly need some time away from the game.

Done. My favourite game of the year so far. Just pure fun. The last dragun kill I got through boss rush with the shittest equipment, a trident and a dead space pistol is all I had ended up killing him with swipes from my unpowered blade with the bullet. It was glorious.

Almost made it to the Forge for the first time two days ago. I was lucky enough to get the RPG from the Gun Muncher shortly before the statue dudes, but the last phase did me in...

One thing I was wondering: Who are those random ghost dudes appearing in rooms with chests? They're not attacking, I can't talk to them... they just stand around, sometimes shaking their head.
