Does it?omg nooooo the first floor gets harder after you reach the second
I started it again after reaching the second floor yesterday, and yeah it just got way harder
Nuclear Throne is much more structured. While there's some randomization, the weapons you find reliably increase in power over the course of the game. A single run of Enter the Gungeon is much harder to predict since you can get an endgame weapon very early or find garbage over and over.
Character differences are more pronounced in NT.
A single playthrough of NT is far shorter than Gungeon.
I really like Gungeon but the long playthroughs keep me away.
I've been playing both Gungeon and NT in recent weeks. There are certainly similarities but so many distinguishing factors, too.Only having played five-ish hours of each, to me it seems like Gungeon is heavily influenced by luck, where luck is a minor factor in NT. Whether or not you can no-hit a boss (and it is super worth it to try and do so) can really depend on what weapon drops you get. NT gives a drop every screen where Gungeon is much more stingy.
Yeah, I took a break, and now I'm doing way better.Yeah, it does, which might seem like a bad thing until you realize that more enemies means you get more drops/money earlier.
The devs mentioned that a save-and-quit function is in the works, Isaac-style.I've been playing both Gungeon and NT in recent weeks. There are certainly similarities but so many distinguishing factors, too.
I agree with all of these points. In fact, I tend to fire up NT when I know my time is limited or just want a quick action fix. With Gungeon, I try to make sure I have a solid block of time put aside, in case I have a bad run or two, or even an inspired run(!). As I have said multiple times in the thread, I hope they add a save feature to Gungeon, similar to BoI. I would probably play the game non-stop.
holy shit, I just realized, not only is the clock target someone using the gun that kills the past to undo your death, the clock shows the time of your run
All right! Thanks! The devs mentioned that a save-and-quit function is in the works, Isaac-style.
Yeah, end game in this is a bit weak. Compared to something like Binding of Isaac, it doesn't feel like there's as much to do. Great game, though, regardless. The boss rush is surprisingly easy.
the Beholster is absolutely nuts, jesus christ
Any trick to spawning a glitch chest or is it random? I'm 80 hours in and only I've only ran into one.
Edit: Guess it just gives you prizes? I was worried an unlock was tied to it.
My bad, sorry to confuse you!
I just finished up Frifle's challenges today. Some of them were a bit long-winded...
I am currently trying to find The Lost Adventurer in the 4th Chamber, Hollow, and he is just not appearing! It's so frustrating - I have unlocked all of the challenging Trophies and done some tough runs and to stumble at unlocking Platinum because of this NPC is a shame.
I have read online (Reddit, Steam forums etc.) that the RNG for generating NPCs in the 4th Chamber is particularly brutal. I have completed Hollow 56 times now and he hasn't appeared. Other NPCs have appeared and I believe it is just a matter of time.
For those with Platinum how on Earth did you get lucky with this? Any tips for finding him, although I doubt there are. There is a comment from the developers on Reddit where they admit finding The Lost Adventurer for the fifth time is much, much harder than they intended. When I find him I might just come back here screaming success, stay tuned.
Nothing specific but make sure you're holding some keys in reserve, would suck for him to spawn and then end up a key short if the shop or another room is locked. I think my last floor for him was 3 or 5, but I can't recall, seems like I used to see him all the time and then not much after unlocking his achievement.
You can touch the fire, just have to dodge a bunch to put it out. I find the Wallmonger to be the easiest 4th floor boss personally. It's the Kill Pillars that kill me.What am I missing with the wall boss fight? Once he puts up that fire in the middle, it's impossible not to get hit a few times. The only way I've beaten is him is by out DPS'ing the bastard or by having enough blanks/invincibility somethings to get by.

Kill Pillars is the easiest boss in the game with the bullet

You can roll straight through the solid block of bullets if you time it right. It's pretty tight timing though.
That's the trick, always be dodging. But you have to keep rolling to put out the fire, and rolling will guarantee you dodge right into a bullet.
Pillers are tough, but once I got the timing down on their first attack, they were far more manageable. That opener though, such a dick move for players that haven't fought them before, lol.
I'm always happy when it's High Priest on the fourth floor.
Still haven't unlocked him yet, and I'm almost 100 hours in. I think I need to find him one more time, but he's refusing to show.
Also this, but that's easy-peasy.You can roll straight through the solid block of bullets if you time it right. It's pretty tight timing though.

Hi everyone, total noob to the game (and rogue like genre) thanks to it being on sale here in the UK.
I know this is a daft question, but can I not save the game, quit and come back to it? I don't wanna lose my progress by starting another game. I use the word progress loosely here, I think I've cleared about ten rooms so far (go me!)
Thanks fella for your quick reply. I had a spare fifteen minutes so I thought to myself, I'll just give Gungeon a go and see what it's like. Fifteen minutes later I've completed the tutorial and I'm making my way around floor 1, found two guns, then I realised as I was about to head out there wasn't a save option. I suppose I can carry on next time I turn my ps4 on, hopefully.
Game seems fun and charming so far, although obviously I'm yet to see how challenging it really gets.
Don't worry, you'll be finding lots of new guns!Oh man, just turned on my ps4 and lost my progress from before. Nevermind, I'm sure I can manage it all again. I just found a new gun though damn it!

I just went back on this again since posting the other day. As this is my first ever rogue like game, it's certainly quite the eye opener! As somebody with average gaming skills, I'm having to step up here. On my first run I managed to get as far as chamber 2 boss, then I got destroyed. Is that ok enough progress at this stage? I bet you can all reach chamber 3 in your sleep haha.
I am enjoying it, even though it is kinda annoying having to start all the way from chamber 1 again.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I thought I read all weapon unlocks carry over to your next game? Everytime I start I have the same measley pistol each time and nothing else.
