I know you are thunderstruck. I'm impressed I was able to pull off this feat of incredible achievement as well.

I think he was more pointing out that is against the rules of the thread.I know you are thunderstruck. I'm impressed I was able to pull off this feat of incredible achievement as well.
Jim got a new table for W3 1.21? Eager to take some screens of B&W using it, and can't make heads or tails how to assign keys to Zanzer's :/
I need my free cam and fov changer like crazy![]()
I know some people here are down on Reshades when the game already looks great, but I like how mine has turned out though I need to do some more tweaking since sharpening a bit too much in some screens than it does in motion. I used these settings with the intention of fixing the problem of STLM making all the grass look neonish green in the main game and it took forever to get that without messing up how other parts of the game looked since this game uses so many colors, finally I got something I like. It's also nice in this expansion that is also maybe a little overly green to me.

solid mechanics and game design but the tracks are very boring and uninspired. performance is also pretty damn low for the very poor visuals

The title of this thread, 'Thread of No Compromises', starts to get less and less accurate these days...
It's just getting a little tiresome seeing shots from people (not me) who put a lot of effort in them being drowned by a large stream of low-effort, "let's just randomly press the print-screen button during gameplay", often hud carrying shots, where the 'no compromises' label isn't really applicable.I don't know what you're referring to, but the title of the thread is supposed to mean that console games have to make compromises for the games to run on the limited hardware, whereas PC doesn't have that problem.

Yea, I'm not a fan of this stuff either. It's just getting a little tiresome seeing shots from people (not me) who put a lot of effort in them being drowned by a large stream of low-effort, "let's just randomly press the print-screen button during gameplay", often hud carrying shots, where the 'no compromises' label isn't really applicable.
Imo that sharpening just destroys the image. Definitely could lower it a lot. I like how it looks otherwise. Maybe upload the config ;-)
I recently started playing through DS2 myself. I own the Scholars of the First Sin version, which is DX11 only, excluding me from using GeDoSaTo and ENBs. I also bought the standard DS2 just to try it out with some ENBs but it was crashing every few minutes so I'm just going to stick with SotFS and use Reshade.

Yeah that's true, and agreed. Hmm...What really bugs me is when you get 3 posts in a row where all 6 shots look almost exactly the same with just slightly different angles. One shot will have 2 cars going down a hill, and the next shot will have those 2 cars a little further down the hill and the camera slightly turned to the right.
But I digress... there are no thread rules that people have to spend any more than a few seconds on a screenshot. As much as some people would like this thread to be a screenshot portfolio for 5-6 people, that's not exactly realistic.
You're always going to have people who treat taking screenshots as a hobby, and then there will be people that just want to show what a game looks like, HUD and all. That's why, in the past, threads like this popped up. But threads like that eventually die off, and the OP decides to make his own website to show off his screenshots instead =P
Not sure if 1 post per page will doable, we might end up with a page which will never be finishedIf you think that we should have a lower limit of consecutive and/or one page shots from one game/person then this is something to add to the rules in OP. I personally would be fine with 2 shots per post / 1 post per page limit.
There are different sharpening shaders in Reshade, people often go for the sweetfx one, but there are others which might give better results in this case like JPulowski's Finesharp, Ioxa's gauss which also has a sharpening section and Bacondither's AdaptiveSharpen. Also the place in the pipeline.cfg might give different results: if you have placed the sharpening shaders after the AA (if you have that enabled), they might sharpen away smoothened edges, creating harsher outlines than you'd need. Thanks for letting me know. I've never been one into tweaking but Witcher 3 is a game I love enough to put in the effort to make the visuals more pleasing to me.
I literally spent hours in Velen trying to get it to look right. I hadn't noticed the sharpening looking too much while playing until I took some screens so will definitely look into turning it down.
If it turns out good enough I may upload it, I've never done that either![]()

Amazing shots!
100% agreed. Don't get me wrong I also enjoy the artsy, cheat-engine'd shots too every now and then, but this thread has room for both those representative/gameplay shots. There's nothing wrong with gameplay shots with HUD as they are more representative of what a game look like than a heavily supersampled, hacked, sweetfx'd, photoshopped, cropped, edited shot. They have a reason to be here as well.
Wow, I love this one!
Stupidly forgot to fully turn hud off in second pic .

what game is this?
One of those moments when you just have to stop and stare. This game is beautiful.

Can we not link to the shots on Flickr? It's so much better to just post the full size images, that way people don't have to close a tab when they try to expand the shot in the browser here.

My guess would be to add a suggestion to the OP, which states that it's preferable to post shots without hud and with a little effort. We can't force anyone to do whatever, but especially our large legion of lurkers will benefit from more high quality shots I think![]()
To me, that's precisely the reason why it's ok for some shots to show the hud. They have an altogether different point, and I appreciate the variety. But that's just my opinion. Also, the no HUD rule should definitely be a thing. I mean, already almost 95% of the shots here already have no HUD, it is just a select few which don't.
Speaking of which, have a couple of HUD-ed shots. Mostly because I couldn't find a way to get rid of it.
I see no reason to get rid of that HUD in Adr1ft. Looks perfectly fine.
DET did some HUDless shots of that game. Maybe ask him how he did it?
