Yeah, Oddworld. It was a large run with a popular name. I guess to clarify, all releases during the second batch took a bit longer. Oddworld was in stock for almost 15 hours after the second listing.

We are fine with orders taking 24 hours, even 48 hours. But we do not want to have unsold stock after that. We don't like lifting limits because it creates a nightmare of "Hey you canceled my original orders because I cheated, but now the limit is lifted so wtf?!"

Wait, I guess you're talking about the PS4 version? Vita no way lasted that long.
 
Was hoping Rainbow Moon PS4 would be paired with Lost Sea and Rainbow Moon Vita would be paired with Soldner-X2 to save shipping, but I'll take it!


Edit: Xeodrifter is also up, July 4th, 2300 copies each!

Why is that? I mean what difference does it make if the game sells out 3-4 days later, compared to the first or second day?

I would have figured as long as the game eventually sells out, and within a relatively short period of time (not like weeks or months), then I wouldn't think a few days, or even a week, should make a difference.

I would actually prefer it takes a little longer as then there isn't that "I have to get it now or I'll miss it forever!" if my schedule doesn't coincide with the sale date.

I imagine some of it has to do with this:

"This game sold out in 24 hours!"

vs.

"This game sold out in two weeks."

I still don't really see the difference.

As long as it sells out, that is what matters. And like I said, I was more referring to a week at the most.

But I was happy to see Oddworld's second batch last until the next day, as it gave time for people to still purchase it reasonably.

The longer it takes, the higher the risk. It probably also takes a lot more capital as they would need to finance more products in advance. I can understand that they want to keep their risk at a minimum. It also keeps their products more attractive for collectors.

If it was taking months, or even weeks, I could see the risk. But selling out within a week at the most, there isn't much risk. Obviously they can't determine ahead of time how long it will take, but through trial and error they can estimate. And if it only takes up to a week (and I mean tops), I don't see the issue. Although maybe there is something I am not seeing which Josh or Doug can point out.

As for the last factor in regards to collectors, can't say I feel that is really a good reason. Don't get me wrong, I like my physical games and instruction manuals, there is a part of me that likes knowing I have something that only a few people have, but I don't think they should artificially lessen copies just so the copies sell out faster and make them more collectable.

That said, I am truly appreciative LRG has done what they have, in giving us physical copies where we wouldn't see them normally, and in the hands of those who appreciate them (mostly). And mostly covers those who buy them to sell. (Fucking scalpers, hate them).

It is more attractive to bigger developers to show them our releases sell out fast. We also don't want to sit on old stock. The quicker a release sells out the quicker we can get a dev their money and order our next release.

Also we aren't 100% turned down on Ray Gigant. We are trying to meet up at E3. So fingers crossed!

I still haven't received my Oddworld (PS4) that I ordered on May 3rd. The package is probably lost... would I be able to get a replacement sent out? I emailed you guys too...

Also, please consider Downwell as a future LRG title, I've been glued to my Vita for the last few days playing it, I'd snap up a Vita physical release of it in an instant!

But do developers really view something selling out after 3-4 days as not "selling out fast"?

Although point taken on being able to get the dev their money more quickly and setting up the next game to sell.
 
One question LRG, the problem here is that in july 4th if we want all games(xeodrifter vita,xeodrifter ps4, and lost sea) we'll have to pay two times the shipping?

Why would you think so?
Add them all to one cart.

I'm guessing a slightly larger envelope will need to be used by their shipping partner.
 
Thanks! Don't know I remember that if you had 3 things on the cart it will mean two shippings(maybe it was for 2 games and one shirt)?

According to twitter, the game will launch on 7/12 and there aren't any details about a physical release. I suppose it could always come later...
 
While on the topic of Bandai Namco, God Eater: Resurrection is not getting a physical release in English anywhere in the world. That's a far bigger crime than Ray Gigant being digital-only in my personal opinion, and likely a bigger seller too. If it's actually Bamco you will be talking to at E3 then I would love to see this game brought up as well.

If they meet with us, we will be sure to bring that up and any other games that are just asking for a physical release here!

Sure hope that meeting happens! Maybe some Digimon as well? The new game will most likely have the same thing as Cyber Sleuth: make a PS4 port, and have the Vita version as digital-only. So there's potential in that, too. Reminds me how companies like Bamco are creating physical-only Vita copies for Asian region for some of their games.

Cyber Sleuth has a physical Asian English Vita version that is still easily found on import sites though.
