I'd just like to chime in and say that owning a gun is a right. Dismissing it as a hobby is disgusting. It's a fundamental American right and until we start there, no one from 'the right' is going to have a conversation with you.

This is not a guns right case, this is a Muslim / terrorist issue.

50 people died because of a gun

how the fuck is this not a gun case?

also nobody gives a shit that your feelings get hurt when someone calls your dumb hobby for what it is

So no gun deaths should happen then? Such a poor argument. Looking at the average number of gun death per 100,000 is more relevant at least:

imrs.php

Wow, wasn't expecting Canada to rank so high on that list. =(

1. Restrict people on the terrorist watchlist from access to guns.
2. Declare war on ISIS
3. Start or keep interrogating known ISIS sympathizers
4. Invade Iraq and Syria to destroy ISIS.
5. Keep those countries for ourselves as a deterrent and/or terrorist magnet to protect the homeland.
6. Anti-radical Islam advertising campaign. Show the disgusting acts on TV, and work to de-radicalize sympathizers through education.
You can't be this naive. Do you really think that will solve anything?
Your second point is insanely dangerous.

With today's news, the bolded here is what's disgusting to you?

Congrats for having the constitutional right to have a deadly hobby. That third world line of thinking helps arm terrorists. Bravo.

fundamental American right blablabla. I hope you are paid by the NRA-Trump Association™ for your posts here.

Also it happened with guns in a country where there is the strongest gun culture in the world, so yes, it has A LITTLE to do with guns. A hobby that KILLS PEOPLE.

An AR-15 isn't automatic.

Fully-automatic guns are already effectively banned in the U.S.

As someone who's fired an M-16/M-4, there's really not much of a difference.

Even in the military, we rarely shot full auto. Shooting full auto tends to make you less accurate, there's a reason why it's called spray and pray.

I believe freedom of religion is also a fundamental American right.

bought it at the gun shop? It's not any more difficult to get an AR-15 than it is to get a Glock handgun. It's a semi-automatic weapon. If you have the $1200-$1500, you can go get one with a 3-day or so check too (assuming you're living in a state that hasn't banned them or some such).
I bought my AR for $700 brand new 5 years ago. I sold it back to a gun store 2 years ago because it was pointless for me to have it and dangerous for it to be in my house with kids running around. No one should have one of the fucking things.

Or if you live in Texas you can get one without the waiting period or background check. Hug, your local gun show.

Same in FL. Background checks are only required on new gun sales. You can buy an AR-15 on armslist or gun shows with no checks.

Also, you only need a license in FL to carry your gun in public (concealed). There is no such thing as a license to buy a gun.

Waiting period in FL depends on the county. Usually you only have a waiting period on handguns, not on rifles or shotguns

You're gonna run into some serious problems between #5 and #6.

We stayed in Germany and Japan after World War II, and those countries are much more peaceful and tolerant places now. We also stayed in South Korea. All three regained their sovereignty. Leaving creates its own set of problems.

The problems with #6 are a necessary evil. Radical Islam is a scourge on humanity and should be treated as such.

BULL.

SHIT.

I'm sick and tired of this rhetoric.

Well I'm sick and tired of yours. That doesn't make you correct and it doesn't make me correct. You skipped over the part where it is an American right to own a gun. You can't take away rights to make yourself feel good. This is what your side constantly says about 'the right' but you want to do the same.

lol

Because the Iraq war worked out so well for us and didn't lead to the creation of ISIS or anything

Unless ISIS is providing passports, training, money, etc. it's not really ISIS.

They know they cannot provide that kind of assistance to every loser who wants to join their fucked up cause. However their message of hate can spread pretty far and that can be just as powerful as providing direct assistance.

Really? Whats disgusting about that?

I agree that the problem is that it's defined as a right though, it should be a privilege that needs to be earned just like driving a car. Not american though so feel free to dismiss me as a communist or whatever.

It's a guns rights issue and a homophobia issue, the latter of which includes many religions including, but not limited to, Islam.

What would constitute a "guns right case" then?

Oh yea I totally forgot that Sandy Hook, Aurora, and all of the shootings in Chicago are a Muslim / terrorist issue.

You are aware you can quote a bunch of extreme views from the bible also ? There is even a YouTube video of ppl reading them to ppl telling them it's the Quran then ppl go how barbaric then they're told it's the bible . If you want a religion without violence in writings maybe try Buddhism . The point is ppl have realize that you don't interpret them word for word . Admittedly this reviewed interpretation needs to happen more in Islam . But then you have places like Saudi with money ...

I have always wondered why religions whose leaders say you shouldn't interpret texts of the book, don't just censor(remove) those parts.

That way, the next generation doesn't need to be given instructions on how to interpret religious text that is so hateful.

This whole thing is depressing. I am seeing so many "he wasn't really ISIS, don't worry". How can that mean anything? ISIS isn't some private membership.

And the argument against these sorts of guns isn't because without it, you would have no terror... It's because it's far too easy to do so much damage with this equipment. No one needs a fucking assault rifle.

its a hobby
its a hobby
its a hobby

and fine if no one from the right wants to have a conversation then lets just exclude them from it as they have shown that they aren't grown up enough to handle an adult conversation.

It also used to be an American Right TO FUCKING OWN PEOPLE AS PROPERTY, Things change.

As a CCW permit carrier, I (or anyone else with a similar permit just like this killer had) can have any of these in in a few days time, max.

Yea, it's that easy to get a semi-automatic weapon of this variety. That is to say, no real effort at all. I bought a compact firearm from this website a couple of years ago. Easy as shopping on Ebay.

edit: enjoy their full selection of semi-auto rifles http://www.gunbroker.com/Semi-Auto-Rifles/BI.aspx

M4s don't even have a full auto option any more do they? Just safe, semi, and 3-shot burst.

Keep on defending that hobby, brah. Let's not pretend that this psycho was able legally buy a weapon, no problem, and murder 50 people with it, as if he's somehow misunderstanding the intent for which that weapon exists.

Afghanistan is not doing well though and there's no end in sight there.

Germany and Japan are not Iraq and Syria. Not even close to the same thing man.

You have a right to bear arms. I have a right to not get shot. Why do we pretend your rights are the only ones that must be protected?

No. They died because of the guy holding the gun.

We've stayed in the Middle East for years now and it's not working. You really don't know what you're talking about.

It's a dumb hobby. It is a gun rights case because psychopaths currently have the right to possess guns.

WTF, this is disgusting. The number of dead and injured, unbelievable. And now the same predictable diffusion and deflection of blame. Something's got to change.

Like, you make all this about you. 50 people died because of this and you're worried about your right to have a gun? What is wrong with you?
