@dkurtenbach

Warriors shot 16-for-43 on uncontested shots in Game *5* — 37 percent. Curry was 2-of-9.

As I stated before, Draymonds presence and value on the court aren't to be undermined but they didn't lose this game because of his absence, they didn't even lose it due to kyrie and lebron going off. There were a bucket load of good looks and open shots that did not work in they're favor in the stretch.

Majority of NBA employees are probably salaried workers. Doesn't really matter how long a series goes.

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but this isn't good logic for arguing against what he said. The NBA benefits greatly from additional games from ad revenue. All of those commercial breaks make the NBA millions.

It's like we're getting a different Lebron every game this series.

And Jesus FUCKING Christ at Kyrie, dude channeled some my planet needs me bullshit.

A couple of thoughts...

Barnes... smh. Why wasn't he taken out the game sooner? He shouldn't have even played the 4th Qtr. Max Barnes was Trash Barnes. Please stop shooting, your moment passed... you missed it again.
Klay!! Get open. someone feed this man the ball.
Curry, if you ain't gonna get 3's then get assist. just NOT TO BARNES.
and get some new moves. you've become predictable with the behind the back side dribble fake drive step back shoot routine. I know you only need a split second to get the shot off, but it's still become predictable.
Speights... why do you look so lost? please find your way back to the bench.

Kyrie. O.M.G. you are killing us man. He found his aimbot and hasn't missed shit since. Amazing performance tonight.
LeBron. Got his jumper back. and together they are putting on an Phenomenal performance.
Love. LOL.

Good thing Dray is back for the next game. Hope he learned to not even flinch in the direction of someone's balls. Hate to see GSW miss an opportunity to close one at home and party in the Bay, but I really don't want this to go to game 7 to get the opportunity again.
and poor Bogut... he was already barely standing as it was. His season is done, unless he can somehow play with a mechanical brace or something.

The Fix was in, and the Warriors just couldn't overcome all-time performances by Lebron and Kyrie w/o the defensive help of Draymond. I doubt game 6 looks anything like game 5, but alot more like game 2. I think we just saw the best the Cav's have to offer, and they didn't win by that much while we were missing an important part of why they weren't able to put up a performance like that before.

Lmao on the fix is in. The fix is for the leagues new toys. Dunkey didn't do much when the dubs lost by 30 so.....

GSW get beat by 15
"the fix is in"

fuck outta here with that shit. team got beat. don't be surprised if this goes to Game 7.

people quickly forget how much fuckery a team with Lebron can achieve. how quickly they forget. i saw Ray Allen hit that 3 for real; the hopes of a man rode on that 3. i expect full fuckery the next 2 games. i feel like Lebron is gonna take that trophy home.

First of all I'm not exactly a lebron fan. He can get fucked for all I care.

Second, I'm just stating what I saw the first few games as a neutral fan. Lebron is averaging 25 ppg and most of those points are at the paint and his Fg% ain't that bad as well.
My apologies. I thought you were a man of class and intelligence.

On your second point, he is getting to the basket but since I have been watching him I have never seen him stripped and blocked as many times as he has been this series. My explanation for that (stolen straight from Zach Lowe, or vice versa, you can decide) is that the Warriors were not giving him enough space to get momentum in going to the basket. Its why he was having to change direction once or twice in the paint, and looked really bad doing so.

Last night the rotations from GS were piss poor and if you give him an he is almost unstoppable going to the basket once he gets that momentum.

Really only Game 3 (and the entire team played well and was aggressive from the opening tip that night). The difference between LeBron tonight and LeBron Games 1-2, 4 is that LeBron was actually consistently hitting jump shots early in the first half, the same ones he was being given and either bricked or passed out of earlier in the series. Dray and Iggy weren't really contesting those earlier in the series because they're smart defenders. LeBron with a functioning jump shot is still basically unguardable because it opens up the paint. He was finishing at the rim against 1 guy tonight, not 2 or 3. The first couple possessions, before he established a perimeter game, he was getting stuffed in the paint.
Warriors are going to give Lebron the jumper in every game.

If he makes those then you just tip your hat and say the other team made more shots. Though honestly on most nights I will take the Warriors shooting over Lebron even taking wide open jump shots, even though Klay and Steph's shot definitely failed them in the 2nd half last night. But when Lebron goes to the paint if he is going with a full head of steam it is over. That was the difference to me. He is just so big and fast that if your team defense is giving him space he is going to pick you apart from inside (and last night from outside as well). You can't let him get that first step on the perimeter and get to the basket in a straight line, even if contested by 2 or 3 guys it is too late.

For the reasons I picked the Warriors to win this initially I still have them winning it because they are the superior defensive team. I am not sure they will win game 6 though I am sure it will be close. Cavs need to find a way to get the role players involved like they did in game 3. I am not sure they can expect Kyrie and Lebron to replicate what they did last night.

First how the state of my fandom in regards to lebron correlates whether I have class or intelligence?

Second, the premise of my argument is that even though Green is there, lebron can still drive and finish at a decent clip. Last I checked he is like 50% at the paint.

I think it's funny now with Klay's daddy running to his rescue that all these family members of Steph and Play come sitting to defend their "honor" and back then up in situations where they're putting down and calling others weak and talking about how they need to man up. Not sure how mentally tough you are when your family keeps rushing in to block criticism and double down. So awkward the hate around Lebron.

does curry have a midrange jumper? He should have. Why doesnt he use it? I'm a little disappointed in his series although I know that the Cavs defense is focusing on him the most. Nevertheless, he should be able to contribute more. Also, have you guys noticed how bad he sometimes is when having the time for an uncontested 3? For Klay, that's like a layup; but for Steph these shots somehow feel more difficult than those ridiculous off-the-dribble 3s he produces all the time.

Also, Barnes :/
ugh. That was so bad.

Well, Kyrie won't hit everything the next game (i hope). Go Warriors!

A lot is going to be said about draymond not being present but warriors missed a fuck ton of good looks and open buckets particularly in the 4th

Even with 5 minutes left they were down by 8 and a half way decent run could have easily kept them in it. They just didn't deliver

Even with Kyrie and lebrons historic performance, warriors had their opportunities that they just didn't capitalize on.

There was a point where CLE missed a lot of shots near the end of the game, was committing TOs, but Kyrie shot was going in. GS could've only gotten back in it if it was just a barrage of 3s vs. Kyrie. Otherwise they were done in GM5 in my eyes.

draymond is back next game

wouldn't be surprised if they close it out next game, with the awkward ass championship presentation on the road

Man, as undeniably incredible as Irving and James were, the crazy part is that the Warriors still could have won this game without Draymond. There was a moment of truth with five or so minutes left where the Cavs missed a few easy buckets and gave up a few open threes at the other end. Deficit was 7, I believe, and a few treys could have swung momentum and closed the gap. Warriors just came up cold, period. No two ways about it.

Props to Kyrie for being absolutely unstoppable. Pretty nuts when you can make an also incredible LeBron performance look ordinary.

Also, the Curry disappearing narrative is disingenuous. Dude slumped in Game 1, true, but didn't even need to play in Game 2, dropped 38 in Game 4, then dropped 25 in Game 5. I agree that he could have been more efficient and bricked a few shots that they needed down the stretch, but 25 isn't a disappearing act, especially when Klay nearly matched LeBron's and Kyrie's performances. The frontrunning in this thread has run absolutely wild.

This was a repeat of game 3. If the Cavs could do this every night (namely if LeBron and Kyrie could have career nights every night) then I'd be terrified. I wouldn't bet that they could though.

Exactly. I thought the series was over but pleasantly surprised we get 1 more game but again don't expect Lebron or Kyrie to repeat their performances.

They really really need Love, JR, or Frye (who isn't even playing now I guess) to hit some shots to take some pressure off. JR needs to keep driving - he can't just roam the 3 point line. He has terrible dribbling skills but sometimes he has a bad defender on him 1v1 and instead of driving he will dance around and chuck up a 3.

Just take it to the rim. Love just needs to shoot - he has become extremely passive. Maybe playing at home works? Who knows.

I expect the Warriors to win pretty easily next game.

But could they do this Thursday? Of course. Could they do it Sunday? Why not. Kyrie has looked damn good on offense the last three games and respectable on defense. The Warriors are just hoping he misses.

They could. Anything could happen. I just wouldn't bet on it. Just like I wouldn't bet on the Warriors losing 3 in a row, or 2 home games in a row, or a game 7 at home, if it gets to any of that.

This is true, but at this point they don't have to do it every night. They have to do it twice in 5 days. I don't think they will, but I do think they win game 6.

The Warriors made a little run sometime early to mid 4th quarter, and Barnes had a wide open look and bricked it. I think they were down 6 or 7 - seemed to me like a big miss at the time.

I think it is going under the radar that the Cavs survived a Klay barrage on the road. Curry wasn't bad, either. Iggy was good, but the Warriors didn't get that boost from the role players that we've seen in big games - Livingston, Barbosa, etc. were just OK at best and they really got nothing from their bigs which was an even bigger problem when Bogut went out.

As for the thread, yeah it's a bit annoying to read here about how everyone fucks up - the refs suck, LeBron sucks, Curry sucks.

I just wonder if people actually like basketball when they see performances like Kyrie, LeBron and Klay yesterday in a fantastic game and their reaction is to be negative about what didn't happen.

I was in awe of Kyrie. Isiah Thomas was an apt description. Dude is terrifying when he's on.

I can see the Warriors winning game 6 for 3 major reasons:

-Draymond is back
-I doubt Kyrie and LeBron are going to score 82 again. I could see one of them going off, but both of them hitting all of their shots?
-Warriors were missing terribly in the second half, I mean, wide open bricks. They died by the three.

Honestly if I were a dubs fan I would feel pretty confident.

If I'm a Believelander I just put all my chips on LeBron and Kyrie Iso 90% of the time and hope they repeat game 5.

Love looks lost out there on offense (almost as bad as on defense). His offensive possessions basically fall into one of the following:
- Try to post up smaller defender, unable to budge them, throw up the most awkward looking hook shot in the nba, looks like he's cradling the ball with his elbow and trying to catapult it over defenders
- Get the ball outside of the post, get trapped / crowded, absolutely panic and throw a god awful pass or just lose the ball
- Get wide open look in the corner. Drain it.
- Get contested look in the corner. Miss.

I honestly didn't watch him much when he was on the T'Wolves but what exactly is his game? He seems to have zero moves.

Last night was the LeBron and Kyrie show, but they can't be expected to combine for 82 for two more games. The rest of the team last night gave them nothing, other than a strong early performance from JR Smith.

Cleveland could and perhaps should be up 3-2 right now, though. Defensive lapses (and tired legs) killed them down the stretch in a winnable game 4. Bad switches gave Steph and Klay far too many wide open shots, and they only need so little space as it is. That's what's going to haunt them all summer.

Curry has been quite disappointing especially in these finals. Hes had what, like 1 good game out of 5 and hes getting outplayed by Irving for much of this series.

I cant really tell what will happen next game. But I'm more confident that Lebron and Kyrie will play great over Curry and Klay playing great.

No one would be shocked if the Cavs force a game 7 at home. Warriors also wasted a fantastic Klay game yesterday.

If it goes to seven anything can happen. If LeBron was that close he might just become an unstoppable force, and Currys performance so far doesn't fill me with confidence that he'd do better in a higher pressure situation.
