Crowd running to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at E3

If Nintendo was actually giving them competition right now, I sincerely doubt he would be as enthused. lol.

People say that about Shu, but he's always pretty open about his praise of Nintendo and how important they are to the industry. I even remember an interview he was doing with IGN where Greg was bashing Nintendo and Shu jumped in to defend them.

Zelda was the Winner of E3 in terms of attention.

I wouldn't say Nintendo won outright, but I enjoyed the treehouse and Zelda personally

By the way, the Wii stampede / line was way bigger than this. The most hilarious part was how you had to run through the Sony booth, where they were debuting the PS3, to get to it. You had to wait all day to get a shot and even then it wasn't guaranteed.

You best market the NX version of Zelda Nintendo. This is a potential system seller if the NX port is top quality.

I haven't been hyped for a Zelda game in a looooong time. The DS games made me lose some interest in Zelda. Didn't feel the wii games with the motion controls.
This game is like a breath of fresh air, when I saw Link cooking the shrooms it was so cute, I knew I had to play it. I'll probably won't play it in a long time so I'll add it to my bucket list when prices are really low.

They should let all Wii U owners download the demo (as a reward for being a loyal customer even if demo is a timed / partial version of what they have at E3.

There really can't be an event or comment that doesn't spawn some kind of competition nonsense. And I'm talking about both sides. Sheesh.

People rushing to play Zelda - "See, Nintendo won e3. We wonn!!"

People rushing to play Zelda - "There's nothing else to play on Wii U and the game won't sell as good as X game because eff it, competition, I need it"

sad

More people should be like Shu

lol they don't even have a chance, i don't think even one media outlet would call them the winner.

It's a very important game to get coverage for your outlet if you have any Nintendo fans as your audience too. It's pretty much the only game you cannot miss. There really isn't any other playable demo at this years E3 that is on a similar pedastal.

no.

Sony's lineup was exceptional and they actually had more than one game.
Yeah sonys linup was way better but Nintendo did reveal quite a few 3DS games on Wednesday. Ever Oasis (RPG by a guy who worked on the early final fantasy games), Mario Party Star Rush, rythem Heaven Megamix, and then they showed first time gameplay of games like Pokemon Sun & Moon and Paper Mario Color Splash.

Here 10.95 million for Ocarina.

Zelda has always been about selling consoles to the hardcore Nintendo fans in the west.

When the Wii launched, Twilight Princess sold with the console to 75% of the consumers. 3 out of 4 Wii purchases.

And I must remind you how hard it was to get a Wii for months?

I remember, back then Nintendo of America released TP on the Wii before the GC version by not less than 3 weeks, while we were waiting long for it.

I wonder if they'll do that with the new Zelda. You can play it this day but on NX, if you want it on your WII U, wait 3 weeks.

Best demonstrated in that social media thread. That chart....

I thought to myself, "maybe in a week I'll ask NinjaBlade what it was like to be wrong", but then I laughed at the very notion of you even acknowledging that you were wrong about a Nintendo game lmao, it'd never happen

This game could review as well as Mario Galaxy and you'd still be posting unsubstantiated drivel about how the game is bad because it needs combat like God of War's or some shit

Zelda is without a doubt the best reveal of E3, and most likely the best game shown on the floor.

i'm honestly not seeing without a doubt, i'm seeing more games that i would rather play and i'm a fan of zelda franchise, like every open world there tons of things to do, the graphics are not impressive, the combat looks dated and slow, i'm not seeing where this game is pushing new boundaries, except that its zelda in a open world.

We already have one and E3 is not over yet:
Forbes

a contributor thats a huge zelda fan, not forbes.

That Nintendo fans are rushing to the only available Nintendo game to play at E3?

why so much hate for ninty? they do what they can with what they have, and they have convinced me to buy their ocnsole and not a ps4 or xbox one...so i dont get the hate

to each his own, but you might want to get that myopia checked out.

Right.

I declare Breath of the Wild is the winner of E3 2016.

FFXV VR Episode was the clear winner, though.

I haven't been this excited for a video game since....shit, I don't even know. Ever, maybe?

If I had been at E3 this year, I'd be running too. I envy all of those who got to play the game.

Whether or not you personally find the game interesting, most of us were proven wrong when we believed that Nintendo would be lost in the E3 shuffle. They have gotten plenty of attention this E3.

Super cringey

Yeah, it's getting to be insufferable. It'd be great if we could avoid all the hyperbole at both ends, but it won't happen.

There was 140 stations.

The line was still 4:30 hours long.

Googling about I'm seeing stuff saying that the demo was an hour to an hour and a half long, although that's preshow reports of how much time Nintendo were asking attendees to put aside for the demo. Here.

Taking the shortest of that estimate (1 hour), the turnover if every person played the demo fully comes to 140 people per hour. According to the E3 website the opening hours were 12-6 on Tues (6 hours), 10-6 on Wed (8 hours) and 10-5 on Thu (7 hours). That works out at 2,940 play sessions over the 3 days. With ~50k people attending the actual show, that's enough time for a little over 5% of attendees to play.
