Seems Max got the chance to play the PC ver. which was made available at E3.

One of my favorite previews are from the EZA crew who are even more casual than Max. Really goes to dispel the myth on how you need to have high level execution to get some enjoyment out of Tekken.
3D fighters in general are good for that, you can mash out a lot of cool stuff due to the nature of their inputs.
The complexity issue will never go away. More characters will come to the home release, and they all will continue to have 100-200 moves each."Wasn't TTT2's criticized on how it was too complex or whatever for casual play?"
Not executionally (for combos, at least, movement is a whole other subject). Tekken's biggest problem is simply *how much* information players needed to know. Or at least, in TTT2. There's far fewer characters in T7, so that barrier is lessened.

With that said, T7 will definitely be easier for intermediate players to do well vs. advance players (and they will fare better vs. some experts). I played the game at E3 and the limited arcade release last summer.
Namco made a lot of changes to help players do better agInst tougher competition. Okizeme is weaker, evasive movement was nerfed (but improved slightly in FR), comback ultras and "Rage Drives" are in for easer damage, custom string breakers in the form of Power Crushes were added, wall damage is noticeably less, and more.
We don't know if it will be enough for success, but it looks, sounds and plays great. I hope it does very well.

We get it.
How about actual gameplay feedback?

all i need to know is: will there be crossplay?

Just going from the character select screen, it looks like my boy Lei Wulong is gone.if that's true, my Tekken days are over. He's been my go-to guy since Tekken 3.
nice! at least they're putting the effort into trying

mods?If there's crossplay what's the point?
I didn't even realize it was confirmed for PC
Hopefully all the ports won't suffer from the problems Tekken 6 did.
Tag 2 was fine so I think they've learned their lesson. Still, it's a new engine so we'll just have to wait and see.
I think I will too. In case I take my lappy to visit family abroad we can hook up my lappy and beat each other up in T7 XP

I was referring to returning classic characters as opposed to the addition of even more new characters, but good point. All the new characters have far fewer moves than the older characters, and execution wise the game is far more forgiving not just to help attract new players but because the game is meant to be played on netcode from start. Even if the game is played local, it's built to be on a LAN and not offline like older games.
Wasn't there something about Namco considering Steam Workshop support for the PC version? There are going to be unofficial mods regardless (especially since it's a UE4 game) but having official mod support would be something else. That could open up some really interesting avenues that haven't really been touched by any fighting game yet, even if the official support was limited to customization items and the like.mods?
I don't know if this comment was in jest or not, but seeing how well some people play Tekken on Hitbox controllers (which are basically arcade sticks but with the joystick replaced with buttons for directional inputs), I could see some people having some absurdly clean movement on a keyboard.Tekken on a keyboard. Finally!
I'm with you there. Max is such a shill.Guy with little Tekken experience does an 8-minute video of how good the game looks.

It was kinda a stealth confimation. It wasn't announced on the Microsoft conference because it's Steam, not Win10 Store. The trailer Namco uploaded on Youtube had the Steam logo among its platforms at the end screen.
There wasn't a specific thread, but PC was in the title at least, if you were curious.
