These really sound like some crazy ass religious militia types based off what they're saying. Some very scary shit.
Sovereign citizens? I heard Texas is rife with that kind of crazy.

It is interesting how my perception of watching the footage changed when I realized the man who was shot and killed was a cop and not the suspect. Not sure if that is good or bad.
Well lately savage has been used to describe someone badass, so I could understand the confusion.
Not like this man... pleaseMan this is sad and terrifying at the same time. Can someone please start an "All lives matter" movement and stop all this bullshit. Politicians are worried about ISIS but there is more terrorism in your backyard than there is anywhere else.

It means the shooters set up a "kill box" to ensure overlapping fields.
Triangulation in this case means posting in a triangle formation. One person for each point of a triangle, so that at any one point in time, at least two people have line of sight on a target within a given(triangulated) area.

What's wrong with calling the shooter a savage?

They did it during BLM because protest draws high cop population in groups rather then spread out loke events since police was the targetof course they weren't working with BLM, but they purposely did it during a march because....?????? to turn public perception against BLM or wtf??!! what does this accomplish. I am anxious to hear their reasoning.

Whoo. Can we change Febuary to "Human Being History Month" while we are at it?
Shooting cops -> anti-government sentiment
+ Military like training, movement, weapon handling
+ Well executed ambush, area of fire, was able to leave initial firefight
= militia?
I don't think she was implying anything - this is where some can take anything and twist it. She was just saying the police were assisting in setting up a peaceful protest for everyone.
Why would they target the police when they could have shot hundreds of protesters?
Why would they try and get away?
It's human. If it happened the reverse it would have been a killer getting stopped in his tracks by a hero. Instead it was a horror film.It is interesting how my perception of watching the footage changed when I realized the man who was shot and killed was a cop and not the suspect. That movement already exists and it's racist as fuck.Man this is sad and terrifying at the same time. Can someone please start an "All lives matter" movement and stop all this bullshit. Politicians are worried about ISIS but there is more terrorism in your backyard than there is anywhere else.
Dallas PD doesn't really have a choice, there has to be a police presence at organized rallies. What they could do is put a moratorium on rallies, but that would just mean the police would mobilize to prevent gatherings. Then if people rally in spite of a moratorium, the police will have to show up.
I can't believe we STILL have to explain what black lives matters means to certain people on gaf. Seriously, it's time to realize literally NO ONE is using it to say just black lives matter but, that black lives matter (too). I wanna pull my hair out because people are still so quick to shit on the movement

Obama just said it today, still doesn't matter.
I mean he also says hes not muslim either.
Doesn't matter. Conservatives are already saying it was BLM and blaming Obama for "race-baiting". I'm really concerned about these next few months in America. They're talking triangulation tactics on CNN now. At least 4 shooters working in tandem.
I'm 90% sure at this point the protest was just a cover. These guys were likely waiting for ANY major event drawing crowds/cops to the area.
This doesn't seem like ISIS, but who knows with how desperate they've been getting lately.
But this is NOT Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter is 20/30-somethings and college students. It is not, and has never been, a militant group.
I don't mean show up, I mean interact with protesters in an amicable way. Less like guards, but people who are there to help, take pictures with, talk to, etc. That was what was going on at the protest today. Now they'll be trigger-happy for lack of a better term. More blue wall instead of protect and serve.
I don't see what other outcome you'd get in this situation. Peace and Calm has been preached for 100's of years to people getting shit all over, with no results. I don't think I'm alone, knowing this was going to be the eventual outcome. What is our government going to do about this before it continues to escalate. The police aren't going to take this, and apparently neither are the civilians. Was that a cop that the sniper rushed? Lord.
We've had multiple police attacks by Sovereign Citizens in the area. They prefer ambush tactics and long guns. I have no idea if this was them or some subset of them or someone else. We have multiple armed militias in the area, some all white, some all black.
Earlier this year a group of anti-Islamic, pro-open carry people staged an armed protest at the local Nation of Islam, which was attended by dozens of armed protestors plus armed members of the Nation of Islam and the NBPP. Lots of AR-15s, and lots of body armor.
So we have multiple possibilities just within the militia set.
It usually is, the police had a hand in setting it all up and I mean they were probably setup and positioned before the protest started so it would be easy to get an idea of where things were gonna be located. You're probably right, wouldn't surprise me if the mass media was trying to stir something up though.
Mike Leslie of WFAA now has the video of of Dallas PDs original POI handing over his gun to the police back when the shooting first took place. Hopefully more people see it and retweet it.

I'm sorry man. You are so right and I'm sorryR.I.P to all the officers. This is absolutely terrible. The shooters are despicable and no matter their internal rationale, are the scummiest of scum. These cops were doing their job, policing and supporting the protesters.
It was extremely honorable to have officers stand side by side with the protesters. They were interacting with their community, showing solidarity with more than a thousand people outraged over the deaths of Castille and Sterling. Community policing is what it is called, and it absolutely works in neighborhoods. Cops are humanized, and the cops get to know the people they are sworn to protect and serve.
I can't expect Dallas P.D to do that again. How can you when as soon as you let your guard down, something like this happens.
Let it be known, these shooters are not indicative of the BLM movement, nor should anyone think that this was inevitable. The country was/is collectively furious about the killings over the last couple of days, but to fire into a peaceful protest has given more ammunition to all those that say we are monkeys, thugs, and gangbangers who can't do anything right. I'm utterly dejected.
There is a culture war going on. The prize are the millions of Americans who are predisposed to thinking ill of blacks. Over that last few decades, their justifications get chipped away little by little, and as I posted in the Philandro Castille thread their diet racism gets harder and harder to justify until they aren't anymore. We were on that path in my opinion, with the overwhelming support that I saw from the most unlikely sources (i.e. those Diet Racists). All of that emotional capital was just washed away. Everyone's worse fears are suddenly confirmed, and everything goes right back to where we were.
These shooters fucked everything up. In a more just world, we should be able to be accountable for ourselves, but the far right will label him a BLMer, ask again "what is going on with the black youth!?". Trump will make a blowhard message about "getting to the bottom of this" and how he will be tough on crime. Obama will be seen as a sympathizer to the shooters, fueling even more partisan bullshit when we all should collectively mourn.
It's too much. Too depressing to think about yet this will dominate our collective minds for a long time. Blue Lives Matters bills will pass that will shit on the civil rights of people, driving us closer to a police state. I hope i'm wrong, but... I don't think so.
I'm tired.
