Because she's totally going to shittalk about him when she goes to her friends and stuff, so OP at least has that pic as insurance (I hope he doesn't actually show it to anyone unless really necessary) in case any of her friends confronts him. Not really hard to understand.

For an unmarried/no kids couple it is. 4 years. Enough time was wasted with someone you found out couldn't be trusted. Don't waste anymore time trying to fix it with someone like that and move on.

Cheating is disgusting and it hurts really bad. I can't believe I dated a former cheater but I trusted her and I shouldn't have had. I also ended it, a four year relationship, and now I feel much happier and much better.

She was getting evidence that your brother was hitting on her. She's been telling you for years that he's been making inappropriate comments at her but you never listened. She felt all alone, and resorted to drastic measures. She was actually going to tell you in a few days after she got enough evidence. Usually you'd think that the picture and a few comments would be enough, but you never listened to her before, why would you now?

And then you get all upset with her and she felt betrayed. Again.

You were never there for her.

It's completely reasonable. Memories can get blown out of proportion, facts can get fuzzy, exaggeration can come into play. It's good to have a "hard" backup (pun intended), to show to friends that may think you overreacted, or whatever the case may be. It's also a reminder of what she did, to help you move forward. So there can never be a, "Was it really that bad?" Or whatever. Once the smoke clears, he can delete that shit and move on with his life.
