No Man's Sky |OT| Hello Worlds.

I am coming up to another planet in my starting star system that appears to have light rings. And holy shit, do you ever get the sense of traveling there and coming up on an actual planet-sized world. A first for me and I'll never forget it.

Finally got the ship up and running after 1.5 hours now that i understand all that crafting stuff but now it expects me to build the cell which requires a antimatter and a vapor thing that requires suspension fluid and i have no option to craft am i on some fucking desert planet that doesn't have anything? Ive been flying for about 30 minutes looking to see if i can find some place that could possibly trade/sell it

Definitely get the hang of boost dashing with the melee as well as the rhythm to not overheat your mining laser, early on. There's actually been very very little of the tedium I expect from the early stages of such games for me so far.

Anyone know why I couldn't interact with a
beacon
on the second planet I visited? It said to press square to interact but nothing seemed to happen. Liking the game so far regardless.

If you melee, you do a small lunge. If you melee and then use the jetpack at the same time, you'll get a nice boost in speed that is much faster that sprinting.

To make it even faster, sprint, melee, then jetpack immediately.

I played this for 12 hours straight yesterday. Just woke up early (UK) to fire it back up.

I went in with no expectations and its blew me away. Personally, exploring my first planet after repairing the ship was my 'Hyrule field in OoT' moment. Unreal.

Started on what seems to be an ideal planet, full of resources and a good temperature. Already have trading outposts and space stations in the system. Diverse ecosystem.

One question though, I left the planet and flew to another to try it out, but after returning to my starter planet, cause I wanted to discover more things on it, I couldn't find a way to set a waypoint or marker to some of the save spots I discovered initially. I might be on the other side of the planet for all I know.

Is there a way to manually set a destination marker to an already discovered location? The one active seems to be quest related and back towards the 2nd planet I traveled to.

Edit: My game did crash once while playing, luckily it was right after I saved.

There's far too much walking in this game. I really wish there was a faster mode of transportation on planets. Having to walk two minutes to get to my ship is too much. Why can't I just teleport or call it over?

I hope we get some kind of ATV you can deploy from your ship in an update.

The crash reports from so many people are a bit concerning. Perhaps Sony should lend Hello some QA people; making the game stable should be the highest priority. Losing an hour's progress from a crash is not a good first impression.

Well sure, but it's hardly a spoiler given its right next to your ship...

Fair enough, but many of us with physical copy orders won't get to play the game until tomorrow, and PC people not until Friday.

GAME CHANGING TIP. Thank you!!

Anyone figured out how to just get rid of the preorder ship?

I missed it for a half hour, but basically I agree, it's the first story thing there is and pretty vague itself... but still it IS narrative-related.

Fair enough, my bad.

Anyone know if there is a way to get back to your original landing site once you leave in your ship?

Weird game. I wandered around my starting planet for about half an hour gathering the resources to fix my ship. Blasted off, was amazed at the size of the planet. Saw other planets, was amazed that it can take literal hours to get anywhere without hyperdrive. Went to another planet, it's basically Hoth, snowy with nothing interesting. I did find a little settlement with an alien who I couldn't understand, but he gave me a blueprint.

Honestly it felt a little dull, but the hour and a half I spent with it flew by and I can't wait to play more. Definitely a really slow burn and I wonder how long I'll stay interested (I'm already pretty over having to constantly refuel my gun and health and suit and fuel and everything else) but it's worth playing just to experience the scope of what they created firsthand.

Holy mother of all that's sacred, the grenade launcher mod is a complete BEAST against the space cops. I can one-shot the low level ones, farm them for money.

Needs to be repeated every page, multiple times per page, til everyone in the community gets this as basic advice. It is crucial for your capabilities on the ground and fun as hell imo.

Imagine if they did tribes style skiing :)

My mouse is literally hovering above the pre-order button. I want this game, I so, so want it and I could maybe afford it but I'm on the fence simply because I need to pay for college and I also want the FFXV preorder so badly next month. The college thing is even worse in that I don't know if I'll NEED to pay it so I might end up with 200+$ of savings. So this is me right now essentially:

Just do it. Let the hype flow through you!

lol.. I wouldn't shout it too loudly or Sean might fix it; I think it's probably a movement bug. This isn't Mario Kart after all. ;)

welp im done for lol waking up in 4 hours lol

got some awesome pics but not taking the time to post tonight... my first spawn planet is insane😲 played 2 hours and didnt leave it yet...

game is phenomenal....
still cant wait to g t more inventory, having it full always is annoying...

I think so too but I don't care, I would hope fervently that Sean is the kind of gamer who would embrace this kind of thing. If it's an accident it's a happy accident.

This planet still sucks but I learned a word for an alien race I had never heard of or seen mentioned before in any media. Pretty excited about that.
Can someone please tell me what the Atlaspass is?
I have no clue

Also I want to know if anyone has just successfully gotten rid of the preorder redeemable ship? I want the message to go away but don't want the ship...

Just played for two hours. Don't quite understand interaction with aliens and stuff. Built my hyperspeed drive and got a warp cell for it, but now I have to go to work, so I'll continue when I get back. Sentinels haven't really bothered me except when I try to break into buildings and stuff, but then I just jump in my ship and take off.

I wish you had a little more control over the ship, no keen on the 'auto altitude' system it currently has, and boy oh boy is it resource collection / inventory juggling heavy!!!

i give up for tonight im gonna just delete the save to this terrible wasteland of a planet and try again tomorrow i can't find traders ill never get off this planet
