I'mma ask my question one more time:

If I've already followed the questline past getting blueprints for hyperdrive/antimatter/making my first jump, is it safe to get the dlc preorder ship?

I don't even know how this is an issue unless you're not paying attention to the new ship you're taking

Spent the last few hours hanging out on a planet covered in Vortex Stones, giant Emeril deposits, a hell of a lot of flora and fauna, lots of wreckage scattered about with blueprints and fairly frequent Trading Posts. The sentinels are a pain, but I'm making bank~

In case anyone was wondering, the game runs pretty well on Vita Remote Play. My one annoyance is that R2 is on the front touch screen, which makes it a pain in the ass to aim and fire at the same time.

I have real mixed feelings about how you can't move tech between ships or multi-tools. It makes a certain amount of real world sense, but I think it does more to discourage you from investing in updates that might have to be left entirely behind. Especially when they're things that require rare materials and complicated recipes.

Contrary to what Soulflarz days, I think it's to encourage more exploration. The only RPG-like system in the game, mechanically, is your exosuit. That's the only one which improves throughout the game.

But your ship and multitool are meant to be transient, and the materials you store in them are transient. They get reset or lost frequently. You can always find more resources to rebuild stuff. You get new outfits which wipe your old one.

If there's an upgrade you really need you shouldn't feel any qualms about deleting a piece of tech or a resource you barely use to make space. You can easily build it again when you need to.

Was really surprised the profanity filter triggered for a rather obscure (and not even completely correctly written) profanity in Croatian. Wonder how big the list is.

Could also be this

Now, the fact a sigma hyperdrive wrecks every time I go in a black hole makes me feel no remorse about having duped copper and iridium en masse.

Watch out for going too deep into a vein of gold. There's a bug whereby the bottom glitches into space inside a planet and you can fall/drown forever.

Noted!

Also, is there a guide for how to layout your suit/ship/tool with modules? Mine is all over the place and think i'm losing out.

You haven't seen shit. My online friend had the luck to land on a planet with 200+ ruins or more on a small spot. Well, needless to say he got the alien language trophy pretty quick lol. But it's amazing that such "bugs" or "glitches" can happen.

Is there a coordinate system to be able to find that planet for other players?

What is the distance estimated on foot to a waypoint across half the planet? Like, if you land on the opposite side of a planets waypoint/marker, what is the ETA on foot?

guys im loving this game but in some things im fucking lost:

1. how do i get the atlas pass?
2. whats the best way to make money for ships?
3. how can i get more upgrade slots for my multitool?#
4. how can i get the fuel for the warp?
Does anyone have answers for 1-3 of these guys questions? I'd love to know these too. Especially the atlas pass and multi-tool ones. Can we get more slots on a multi-tool or do we have to buy a new one? Also where do you get new ones from?

I was following a crash site beacon for a long time. It hovered around 16 mins up and down. I got move elevation, sped up and descended down to the surface and finally found it. It's been happening a lot to me.

Anyone seen any issues with trying to get to a beacon and the time seems to go up then down? Had a few beacons where it gets down to a point, but then starts going back up, and I can never get to the thing. Not sure if it's Atlas line related but was looking to get to an abandoned building, but then tried warping to the next system and there were a couple beacons doing the same thing there.

This happens if you fly too close to a planets atmosphere. If youre outside it max speed is around 1600u, but closer to the planet its 150u. Because the curvature of a planet, you have to keep adjustong yoyrself so you stay relatively outaide the atnosphere. Keep an eye on your speed so you can make sure your going at max speed~

Like.... all upgrade tech that you have the recipe for actually, to some extent, you can even just install and dismantle on the fly as needed, right? If you're on a super cold planet and have the recipe and mats for the thermal layer or whatever, or a watery one and need the breathing thing. I think you get half of what the recipe calls for for dismantling.

Atlas pass is received in a quest after a while.
Best mineymaker is mining neutral ore and reselling it.
Multitool cannot be upgraded, you find better ones in some buildings with aliens.

I have the hyper drive glitch. What can I do?
Are you sure you have this glitch? I've seen so many mixed messages on it.

I redeemed the ship almost instantly. I came across the blueprints for hyperdrive, antimatter and the warp cell just by exploring, and the game was ready to give me directions to find them after my first and second warps (the objectives came up, then went away, I assume after some checks realized I didn't need the help).

So far I'm about 8 hours in - I spent a good amount of time trying to find all the animal species on my home planet and gave up with two left, and then spent about 2 hours genuinely lost in an enormous cave system. Eventually I had to follow the logic that as long as I stay next to the left wall and walk clockwise, I'll find the exit - and I did. It was actual, tangible relief when I got out.

I've travelled to a couple of planets and moons so far, got the Hyperdrive etc. One thing I'm trying to get is a crashed ship so I can change from the first one I start with - how do I find crashed ships?

Well fuck me! I accidently bought a new multi tool.... With 7 slots... :/

I know, there needs to be a lot of stupidity to accidently but something. Ah well

how do I find crashed ships?

I found an abandoned shelter with a terminal that gave me the coordinates to a distress signal, and the source was a crashed ship.

It only had one more slot than what I already had though so I didn't bother.

But crashed ship sites have other goodies too, so they're worth seeking out.

I love this game - but I'm not digging the 2D procedural grass.

If you look down at it and circle it, it follows you front-face the entire time - because it's a 2D texture. This is 2016, what is going on here?

I do love the game though and can overlook it :)

I have just arrived on a raditation planet that looks like the d12 purple pills video

I named the planet purple hills

Who says I'm not a galactic ace with a Sonic Screwdriver and Hyperspanner?

At least let me get a length of hosepipe and syphon the fuel!

I also found an abandoned shelter with co-ords to a crashed ship but the location was to where my own ship had crashed at the start of the game, where the red Atlas orb was. Needless to say I was a touch irritated to have travelled so far back for nothing.

Also, is it normal that I don't have Atlas Passes yet? I read somewhere that it should happen fairly early on by following prompts and a "beacon" but I don't remember seeing any of this. I'm worried that I'm going to miss something key to the game.

For the fast moving thread, a few hours back.

My game crashed as I was saving at some two bit shack that I had just walked out of after leaving my ship. Rather than load the previous (2 minutes?) save it pulls both saves off the cloud. I've lost 7 hours, a newly charted system and one heck of a new ship. I feel sick.

So, apparently my game is ruined. I've been playing for the last three hours. I noticed around 30 minutes ago that my save timestamps hadn't changed since 12:10, a little more than three hours prior. So, I took precautions. I saved while connected, then saved after I'd cut the internet.

When I restarted, I restarted while I was still disconnected from the internet to a three hour old save. I connected, hoping against hope that maybe it would have saved (even though I knew the timestamps hadn't changed. Nope.

I'm loving the game but I don't know if optimism is going to be enough to keep me going if it's going to be a No Man's Sky rendition of Groundhog Day.

edit: Now that I've reread my original comment, I'm beginning to think the cloud has nothing to do with it at all. The game just isn't saving.

omg finally. System with atlas interface just gave me a stone but next one had the anomaly.

Good thing too. Game's stating to crash a lot :/

I think I'm stuck and will have to restart. I found a crashed ship and decided to take it, but the thing is, I need Heridium to repair the thrusters. The problem is after searching this extremely toxic plant for hours I can't find a Heridium rock anywhere. Has this happened to anyone else? Am I boned?
