Final fantasy XV might have 3 theme songs

I just hope the soundtrack in general turns out to be great. XIII wasnt exactly the best gameplay wise...but the soundtrack was just as top tier as you'd expect from the series. XV better not be too "epic" for its own good...

Out of all the tracks, my favorite is "I Will Be". It's more a melodic mood track compared to the other two. It feels post-triumph, almost like credit music. "Too Much Is Never Enough" sounds more like a F+M single than something composed for FFXV, even though it was.
I feel like Square could've approach this collaboration to better suit the tone of the game maybe. Having Yoko Shimomura compose the theme, with Florence singing it, would've sounded less disjointed.

Somnus was so haunting beautiful, I hope that game's soundtrack has more melancholy to it.

No offense but I hate it when people say something "doesn't suit the game" when the game isn't even out yet. The songs were specifically tailored to the game and a particular scene... pretty sure it'll fit. It's not a "My Hands".

I'm never a fan of these vocal ballads, but it's a single player mainline FF. I always expected this. I'm just glad that maybe a couple of these songs are great on their own more than anything.

It all makes sense now.

If only any of these songs were anything like Seven Devils, but they aren't. I wish they were...

Best version of Stand By Me actually. I'm actually glad now they went with that since I found it dumb when it first revealed. I Will Be is also great. Too Much Is Never Enough is alright imo. Definitely can't wait to see how they fit them into the game. I Will Be would be an awesome song to play while driving with your bros after a turning point in the story (ala Red Dead's Mexico song) or for the credits.

Well, even if the game ends up sucking, we have three really good songs now.

I loved I Will Be, and it reminded me a bit of Sigur Ros as well.

Did say "I" a lot, so it should be obvious I'm speaking for myself. I enjoy some of F+M music, so I'm become familiar with their sound.
Simply because music will be tailored to fit the game's moments, doesn't guarantee it will have the desired emotional reaction for each and every person.

I really liked one track, just don't feel the other two are as in line with XV tonally, despite being well made. I never even compared it to "My Hands"...

There is so much potential drama based on these songs... I'm gonna cry. Dan you tabata >_<

That's why I used the wording "pretty sure," I mean I can't say FOR SURE it'll completely fit... but don't outright assume it doesn't fit the game, y'know?

I mean it wasn't just to you. I've heard it so many times over the years for other games, plus this game with Florence in general.

PS to mods, sorry for the double post but I completely forgot how to do multiple quotes in one post.

If it was up to Nobuo Uematsu we'd have a main theme that ties in melodically with some of the tracks on the OST.

Alas..

I don't like Stand By Me, but I like the cover (now that I've heard the full song).. haha.

The other two songs are nice too. I Will Be kinda feels like an end credits track.

I can't decide if "I Will Be" or "Too Much is Never Enough" is more fitting for a credits track.

I feel like "Too Much is Never Enough" will play over the actual credits roll, while "I Will Be" plays over the ending CGI, or perhaps an important mid-game scene like Yuna's Sending was to FFX.

Actually, I feel like "Too Much is Never Enough" gives away some major plot hints.
I want to write this down for posterity to check back to once the game's out, but I'll also spoiler it, I guess.

The song seems to talk about Noctis doing something people might not approve of, Luna in the past tense, and a weird implication that people might not want to see Noctis "coming home alive." I think Luna sacrifices herself for some reason mid-way through the game, and wants Noctis to go out alongside her, for plot reasons, but he backs out or doesn't agree with the plan or just doesn't have the nerve, and so the party has to come up with a Plan B. It'd fit with all the imagery of Regis knowing some regrettable destiny for his son that he considers tragic and unavoidable but seemingly does nothing to truly fight against - bringing young Noctis to an audience with the "gods" or whatever the figures from the Dawn trailer are.

I'm betting Nocti's destiny is to sacrifice himself at the right place and time to prevent some known, impending calamity, but he'll shirk from the responsibility and be cast down by his people as a "selfish" king who allowed some divine or cosmic misfortune to befall the world. Setting up a second half of the game where the party has to find an alternate way to reverse whatever's happened and "Reclaim the Throne."

These tracks are gorgeous. F+TM didn't phone this in at all. Complete 180 from My Hands. XV is lucky to get these songs. Seriously.

The Japanese version had Kimi ga Iru Kara which was an original track composed by Hamauzu.

Which is a beautiful song. Both of the vocal themes for XIII were fantastic.

Hmm, how about Kiss Me Goodbye and the opener in X-2? I think Eyes on Me is pretty bad too, actually.

That song is a meme in my circle of friends and its a joke.

Whenever we are playing WoW and someone needs assistance all you do is the high pitched "What can I do for you, followed by voice made wah wah wah wah?"

The response is always "you better not being playing that stupid fucking game!!!!"

It's hilarious and always leads to a huge discussion of final fantasy

1000 words was.....ok

As a person who hated the Leona Lewis song in FF XIII, I'm pretty impressed on how amazing these three songs are. Her version of Stand By Me was always great, but it always felt out of place in that FF XV trailer. It's growing on me after rewatching it a bunch of times though.

I Will Be is amazing, man. She did an amazing job.

If I wanted a pop band from the real world (the world that I love forgetting about for a few hours at a time while playing games such as FF) to score a game I'd play Gran Turismo or one of those music controller games.

These are words, but when put together they make you sound like a crazy person. What are you trying to say?

Cool opinion! It's literally 3 songs.

I remember when I got pissed that the Leona Lewis song was in FFXIII, forgot about it and then it didn't come up until the ending and then it fit well enough that I didn't mind it

I never knew other music composers are from some unreal world that's not ours.

Thanks for the compliment! Ok seriously though I hope that's the case with these.

Touché.
