Game runs solid 60 for me on my FX 8320 GTX 970 combo... And then everyone couple minutes drops to 3 fps for a couple seconds for no apparent reason

Oh and the FOV setting in the OP is golden. 140 is much better and I don't feel as contained.

This is one of the first interesting creatures I found...

A giant cow with cheese on his head? :0

Mildly concerned. Seems to have similar issues that I have had with Abzu.

built for VR
OC'd i5 6600k
Msi 1080
32GB ram
SSD

Honestly runs pretty rough. Definitely a fair amount of dips/hitching. Granted Im not really a PC gamer so Im not up on standard tips & tweaks. Will certainly have to give some of them a go. Still, Ill likely download it this weekend to give it a go.

Holy shit. They locked the Steam forum. If that's not a sign not to buy the PC version right now, I don't know what is.

I can't remember a Steam release where they actually locked the PC forum.

Second planet maintained 60FPS, game seems to be fine on my machine. Found some creatures, made it to the first space station, learned the word "interloper" in some alien language. Here's a pic of a cave near where I landed on the second planet.

Performance would be perfectly acceptable. I've got another 30 minutes or so to decide if I want a refund. I'm not particularly enthralled with the gameplay, so I'll likely get one and wait until there's some more substance in the game. I've spent a lot of time in menus and it's just not grabbing me.

Dont think they did. They just set the forum to load on the landing page. Check general discussions, its still the same cesspit.

...and my refund money going towards Deus Ex, has been justified.

I hope they fix this as quick as they possibly can.

They've just shifted discussion into an actual "General Discussion" tab, which is still active:

Not the first game to do this, lately.

good god the textures in this game are fucking atrocious. PS2 level.

Agreed. It is an eyesore.

I think the gameplay is fun enough so far, the ability to leave a planet and fly around (which feels a little clunky tbh) will be something that wears off soon enough.

I didn't go in as a hater or hyper.

My biggest thing is going to be incentive in the long term.

The 'Landing Page' forum is the default instead of General Discussion. Scroll down on the right side.

So All AMD Phenom II CPUs and older Intel CPUs don't support this game due to no SSE 4.1 support from what ive been reading... What are the chances of them fixing this?

Most of us with these older cpu's are facing the crash at launch issue.

These issues also popped up in Metal Gear Solid V and most recently Earth Defense Force 4.1, they were fixed fairly quickly with patches so I'd say it's quite likely to be fixed.
Hopefully they fix it soon.

So my 980ti is running Geforce 368.81 and Gerofce Experience says it is the latest one.

Will updating to 369.05 (10 series) kill my card?

Yeah cant believe how much I was looking forward to this, and game locks up my PC every time at launch.

I guess I have to look forward to Deus Ex and refund NMS if they cant fix this before the refund time.

I see it, thanks. I guess I jumped the gun.

I'll wait until they get the bugs out before I buy anyways.

The Watch Dogs debacle convinced me never to pre-order again.

I don't think you can install those drivers, as it should check what card you're running.

Still though, why would you?

i7-4790k, 16gb RAM, GTX 970 (368.69) @ 1080p

Game Settings
Maxed out (AA Off)
VSync Off
FOV 100
Max framerate

Nvidia Control Panel
Vsync On
Triple Buffering On

Triple Buffering seems to have made the most difference to stuttering here - very smooth now.

Will test a bit more later.

I just read on reddit that some people refunded the Steam version cause it stuttered and hitched and then got the GoG version and it ran fine.

Anyone with GoG version can say how it runs?
Specifically hitching,stuttering

Bummer to hear folks having issues.

Running really smooth on my end, 980 Ti & 4790k. Just set everything to max (including the framerate cap setting), let RTSS handle the 60 FPS cap, and it's been great. Have noticed a couple brief stutters usually when I first enter a planet from space but otherwise it's pretty much exactly what I wanted out of the PC version.

One thing I noticed that I don't know if is a driver thing or just a game issue is that the surface used for metal walls (like the inside of shelters) seems like it is slightly corrupted, with little artifacts on the surface. Haven't played with the settings to see if it's caused by having reflections on high.

I7-960
GTX 980
32GB RAM
Win 10

Played for about an hour and I’ve been to two planets so far. I’m averaging +70 fps @ 1080p with everything max (FoV also at 100). I get the occasional dips, but nothing serious. Definitely turn off v-sync, it was causing me to stutter and after I turned it off I didn’t have an issue. So no issues with performance for me. The game is just kind of ugly though and blurry.

This is looking to be another PC "Master Race" FAIL

Another game that's main focus was on the console version and then ported to PC.

This is happening more and more to the point where I stopped caring about PC Gaming and my Gaming PC just collects dust. It's not worth the time and headache anymore. Especially for a guy like me who is married, has a career, and having a kiddo in the future. The sad thing is, I make more money now than ever and can afford a TRI-SLI 1080 setup if I wish. :(
