Okay, so I maxed out my Exosuit and got 48 slots.

I'm currently saving up money to upgrade my Starship too which also maxes at 48 slots.

What is the highest for a Multi-Tool. I currently have a 23 slot multi-tool and basically removed any boltcaster stuff off of it and strictly keeping it as a sort of death beam. The only reason I would consider upgrading my gun is if I wanted some Grenade expansions for delving in caves.

Is a Boltcaster ever useful or am I just better off sticking with my Death Beam Laser for both my mining a combat needs?

Boltcaster is amazing man. It has a slot that has homing shots and shoots fast as hell. You should use it. The plasma grenade i seldom use.
Also multitool is 24 slots max.

Still in my first star system zone,
do i need to buy this atlas stone from the space station befire warping?

It costs over a million...

any easy way to get new multi tools? I only found one in 6+ planets , despite having 3million credits and +20 slot exo suit.
Just keep on visiting outposts... After about a thousand outposts I finally found one on the wall next to a Gek alien, and managed to upgrade from a 5 to 8 slot tool.

I have a 32 slot suit and a 27 slot ship, and am slumming it while mining.

Found a 16 slot multitool at a station, left the station with it and the game crashed. I didn't notice that it didn't save my progress until after I entered a black hole. So pissed.

I wonder if you got hit with the same bug as me, that it didn't save even after exiting your ship.

Quoting myself as I didn't get an answer earlier. I've played for a few more hours since, and the issue still remains the same, despite lots of other milestones popping.

Is this a common bug?

I finally reached an extremely hot planet that had occasional firestorms, and I spent one Sol on it. However, the milestone didn't pop. On the milestone stat screen it just shows that I've survived for one Sol, and underneath that it says "Next milestone in 0.0 Sols". I hung around for a while longer to try and make something happen, but nothing did. Even when I moved on to another system and a couple of new planets, it didn't pop.

Is this a common issue and if so, is that milestone screwed for me?

I have a 22 slot ship and like a 9 slot multitool. I haven;t found any other good multi-tool yet.

My second system had a warrior alien race in it, so almost every time I successfully answered one of the little alien mini games I got a multitool. Some of them had my slots -1, but most of them had my slots +2, so upgrading it was very fast. I think when I left the second system I already had the 24 slot tool. Some of them had omega upgrades pre-installed as well.

Are there multiple galaxies?

We warp to "systems"?

I'm confusing myself with terminology.

Yea, it is confusing, has anyone been to a Galaxy that's not the one we started on? Or has anyone heard of someone in a different Galaxy?
Curious if everyone playing right now is in Euclid...

Really dumb question... Maybe?

But how am I supposed to upgrade my suit's Jetpack if the jetpack slot is boxed in in the upper left slot by non-moveable or dismantlable systems (life and hazard prot)?

It's telling me the jetpack upgrade must go next to it... But how? Can we change suits later or something? Kind of annoyed with how they thought it would be a good idea to add this slot priority mechanic to the game. Item management is a pain enough as it is, now I've gotta play an X-Com base building minigame in the menus while I'm at it? Ughhhhhhh

I almost always come across one when using bypass chips to locate settlements/outposts - hanging on the wall.

Also scanning for these settlements from orbit seems work.

Specific races seem to offer them more frequently I've also noticed - but being proficient in understanding them is key, they usually GIVE them away.

Jeez!
I'm sitting at a space station waiting for a ship around 26-30 slots for around 3000k.

Either they are like 12 slots for a penny and a gum or 40 slots for your wife and first born....

And now there are no more ships coming into the space station! I think those filthy captains are talking with each other about me!

I am, quite literally, sitting on a planet just like this.

Absolutely worthless. Would hate to be stranded here.

So are people incrementing multitool +1 and continuously trading in to get a huge multitool?

I was hoping I could find a decent one without going through that.

So after spending 3 days on a moon (getting a ton of Exo suit upgrades) I've finally moved onto the actual planet to find this distress signal. When I got there I found an awesome multi tool, sentiels better watch their backs now I'm packing! Can't believe I spent hours upon hours exploring a desolate moon this game is crazy, everything I hoped it would be. Still only on my second system so I know there's still so much more to discover!

Each warp is to a new Solar System. The euclid galaxy is the starting galaxy and is made up of billions of solar systems. The known universe (atleast in real life) is made up of one hundred billion galaxies.

So for the most part you will always be in the Euclid galaxy unless you find a new way to a whole new galaxy.

Are there more galaxies in the game than Euclid?

In my experience, the Vy’keen are your best bet to find a new multi tool. The Gex, on the other hand, are the least likely to have new multi tools for sale.

Ive been to about 10 systems and I don't think I have ran into the vykeen at all.

Will this game seriously not let me name any planets I discover "Urectum"? Even tried it with a K and the name still got rejected :/

Gonna name every planet I find from now on "Murrayliar".

You my lucky charm, just found an 8 slot.

Pro tip salvage crashed ships and quickly repair your new ship

If you all find ships that have less slots, enter them and break them all down. Free elements and some rare stuff you can find.

Also when you are switching ships break down everything from your old one. It makes it way easier to quickly get your new ship in order.

Urectum still has rectum. Try adding an extra alphabet or number. Ur3ctum or Urecctuum should work :P

So from reading something here I think I may be screwed with the atlas path.
I have even selling my atlas stones, figured this might have been the wrong thing to do straight away but figured it was worth the risk. I have been to around 3 or 4 atlas stations and my last was where you no longer have the red stone but instead the floating beings from each race. Am I screwed or will I have any more stations before the end so I can try the duplication bug previously mentioned in this thread?

what was the name of the system?

Got to this planet that was completely barren on the surface but had a huge cave system that I got lost in for half an hour. Mined 300k worth of gold in it.

Thanks for this in edit.
I am currently on the Atlas Path, and of course I will not read your spoilers, but I am glad to know that there is more after that, whatever that is.

Also, I think lot of people do not actually read the story that you get in all those monoliths, outposts and other encounters. There is quite a bit of story there, and to me it is interesting, a nice little sci-fi adventure.
Exactly, I feel the same way. If you read you'll learn and it becomes really interesting.

when you guys say upgrades stack do you have to dismantle nearby slot to place any upgrade next to it's type for bonus?

when i get a new tool if the layout isnt good i usually scrap stuff and start laying it out again more structured, unless there are really good upgrades on it in which case i keep them ones and build around them.

Same for the ships, some of them have terrible upgrade slot allocations.

So I found this sweet planet which is absolutely filled by those large gold stack things (the language is set in Dutch so I have no idea what it is in English). Except when I laser beam the part of it which is in the soil, I receive no gold :( Is this a bug?
