We No Man's Sky fans may have our differences, but we will not hesitate to come to the aid of our fellow explorers, especially against someone who so virulently slurs that which has brought us together.
Just watched it and he's right.
I fell for the hype and the games disappointed me but I've asked Sony for a refund and I'll purchase Deus Ex instead.
I can't see Sean Murray fixing this game, he's made his money because the game was a full release, not an alpha then beta.
I feel like all the people over the years who genuinely asked "what do you even do?" should be apologized to at this point.
Because yeah what is there to do other than inventory management and bare bones survival elements?
It's odd because here on GAF it's the complete opposite.
Those in the OT are having fun and being civil, while the review and no MP threads (filled with a majority of people who aren't playing and may never will) are the threads filled with toxicity and outright hope for the game to fail.
Sure makes you think...
I still don't understand why this game in particular resulted in these types of people. It's so bizarre to me.

And in the recent sales thread, people are blatantly upset that this game still performed well despite "mediocrity" and "tricking the consumer".
But only one side in all of this gets the negative attention...
Interesting...

What I don't really get is that those people also seem to be the kind of people who did hang onto every little info Sean dropped, so you'd assume that those would then also be the most upset by unfulfilled promises

Best buildup and payoff to "thank god for Jim" in a while
Always two sides to a coin.
I think this puts No Man's Sky into proper perspective:

Apologise for what? That second half was one of the best things I've ever seen.I think this puts No Man's Sky into proper perspective:

I read your post before watching the video and it still managed to take me by surprise.
The side that sends death threats, DDoS attacks a reviewer who didn't like the game, and generally makes the fanbase look crazy by being both crazy and louder than the rest is the one that gets the attention, because it's undeniably worse.

"what do you even do in Doom"
All you do is shoot and punch things over and over again. So repetitive and boring.
Just showing how silly of a statement the "what do you even do" has always been. Also showing how silly the repetitive and boring statement is.
If you like the gameplay loop any game will be fun... if you don't, any game can seem pointless, repetitive and boring.
EDIT: on topic - i completely agree with the video. the death threat, hate culture on the internet, but especially in gaming has gotten out of hand. no one should have their life threatened for delaying a game (or reporting on said delay

He does mention the people crusading for the game to fail as well. You guys are leaping to the defence of some seriously crazy people by commenting without watching the video.

Can you screenshot the tweet, I can't access it through the link.
Spot-on about hype culture. Unfortunately it'll take something far worse than what's happened with No Man's Sky to really change things (or so it seems in our current climate)...
Anyway, great video. This whole affair has been a cringefest.
it's a video
