nah, 6600k + gtx 1080Are all the people here running the game at 100+ fps using i7 CPUs? Honestly that frame rate sounds like a dream to me, mine is constantly in the sub 30 to mid 40s regardless of my settings.

The driver says it includes SLI support but the game still only uses one of my 680 cards. Do the developers need to code it in or something? Why doesn't it work?
*Edit* Ok SLI is working now. I had to delete my profile for the game out of Nvidia Control Panel. Now the game is silky smooth.
So this is what worked for me:
Install the new Nvidia drivers
Delete the profile I made of the game to tinker with settings in Nvidia Control Panel (game ran like crap on the new drivers with this profile)
Install the Experimental patch for No Man's Sky
Borderless Window, FXAA, 16x filtering and V-sync enabled in game (no longer using the Control Panel to override it).
And now the game runs a very steady 60fps in 1440p (I was running 1080p before) using my two GTX 680s in SLI.
So can people confirm that disabling shader cache and deleting the cache folder improves performance?
Killed all my stuttering outright.
How do you delete the cache?
Awesome. Where's the cache located though? And can I delete just the cache file for NMS or will it affect all my other games too? And, even better, does simply disabling shader cache in NVCP mean you don't need to delete the actual cache files?
any patches for this yet?

Experimental patch that is being cleaned up for final release which you can download through Steam. Also an NVidia Game Ready driver seems to be helping some.

It's 372.54 that's out now.i have the gog version and the nvidia 391.09 driver made it worse for me.
Sean tweeted yesterday that a patch is being tested

Well there's 2 mods I'm going to install when I get home, thanks guys.

Which new driver? There seems to be one that updates with Windows Update and one through Nvidia themselves.
The new driver made it worse for me. With the previous ones worked pretty well, a stutter here and there but very playable. Now not only stutters like crazy but when i open the UI in some planets it tanks my framerate.

Tried the new nvidia drivers and performance is definitely better! My FPS went up a nice amount.
Before installing the new drivers, I deleted the custom profile for the game, and set shader cache back to it's default "on", and the stuttering was there again. So for the time being I would recommend leaving shader cache to "off" and waiting for the official game patch that is supposed to address this issue to come out.
I'm thinking the new patch will be out at sometimes today/tomorrow.
I assume it works the same as any DSR method, meaning performance is affected significantly?

People should NOT have to go through all of this just to play a crappy game with a couple of hours of repetitive gameplay...
This is just horrible...
How on earth do you all go through this every time a major title is released?!

The game still runs badly for me even with SLI and the new driver. Deleting the shadercache folder and disabling shader caching makes no difference either. The framerate is higher and actually smoother, but when I'm moving around and stuff is being generated is when the stuttering starts. Perhaps the game just doesn't work well with older CPUs (I have an i7 3930K)?
Hey Guys,
This is my setup:
Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz
GeForce GTX 960 Galax KFA2 EXOC 2GB Edition
16GB of RAM
I've fully updated Nvidia-drivers. The game usually stutters a bit for like the first five minutes or so, then it runs smooth. But everything looks so jaggy. I've optimized the game through the Nvidia control center: basically just the suggested settings. My frame rate is 30fps. On Game Debate it says my setup can handle a max of 38fps, so I guess 30fps is all can squeeze out of it, right?
Anything I can do to make it look better? Any mods you can recommend? Thanks.
Nvidia 372.54 has tanked my frames, both with and without experimental build.
And have deleted Shader Cache + Disabled as well as left it turned on in Nvidia Control Panel with Shader Cache left in binaries folder.

The new drivers killed my framerate too until I deleted my No Man's Sky profile in the Nvidia Control Panel. I put it back to default, deleted the profile and used the in-game FXAA, vsync etc using the experimental build. I had great frames after that.
How does your stuttering work?
My game runs great until I move like 25 feet, the game dips into the teens and even single digits. If I stop in my tracks right when the drop happens the FPS will stabilize back to normal(it will also stabilize if I continue, but I will likely run into another dip pretty quickly)
So odd, maybe it's the CPU but I have a hard time beliving a 3770k matched with 970's in SLI is being bested by a game that runs smooth on a PS4 CPU and GPU...
Hopefully it gets patched soon, because although I'm having a blast on PS4, this game looks so damned good on PC at 4K...
