Final Fantasy: Record Keeper |OT2| I HAVE NO MYTHRIL AND I MUST SHOUT

Just hit 50 Mythril this morning with the login bonuses, did a 11x pull on the pick'em banner and got Leon's defender sword. Probably won't use it often, but I was super weak in FFII synergy, so I'll take it. Took Ramza's Armor as my pick, which is great because it's an AoE heal on a non-healer character.

Pretty happy with those results. Back to farming orbs.
 
I just noticed that there's no synergized Support-5 for these Dissidia events. Good thing we won't need a full Dissidia party, not that it's a problem for me because I have Y'shtola with Stoneskin. I might not get to the bonus battles until tomorrow, though. I emptied my stamina out on orbs and I haven't even started the Dissidia event at all. Good news: Thanks to orb festival, the only character who isn't fully level broken now is Shantotto. I got most characters for the upcoming events up to Lv 72+ as well, for any Cid Missions.
 
Sweet, I got Zidane's Super Soul Break for my $1 pull.

I was actually singing along with the music I was listening to "Give me Luneth's dagger, give me Luneth's dagger" when the screen shake happened.. almost had a freak out.

Zidane is Team Thief tho, so he's tops in my book.
 
Did an 11 pull on the pick 1 banner. Took Ramzas armor of course. Got the Terra 5* Horn in the pull. Which is great, because thats the one relic on that banner I even wanted.

Question about the music in the Dissidia event . The remixes are awesome! Whats the song with lyrics when selecting which boss to fight?

Phase 3 refreshes: 42
Major Power: 146 > 192 (+46 gained)
Major Black: 159 > 206 (+47 gained)
Major Wind: 34 > 88 (+54 gained)

~5.17 Greaters per stam.

Much better than my ~6.14 average on Phase 1, but I'm still kicking myself for not budgeting my time properly for 50 mithril.

Lol phase 2 conversions. I spent 5 mithril on it and it was basically MWO hell.

Time to hit something. Gabranth will do nicely.

Not sure how you're able to play all 3 in grindmode.

80 Demon Hearts for something to be replaced in 2 days broke me for Exvius. :(

Login + daily mission enough for me for now to build a stash big enough to pull and ragequit in future.

I knew that event was trash (and the first bloody Global event at that) the second I laid eyes on the recipe. Ran it once to see what it was like, never again. I haven't even done the current event (which everyone is saying is trash as well).

I have more fun in BE just levelling characters in the Vortex. The dailies in that game are work though. Explorations are not fun (if one hasn't unlocked 2nd tier Esper battles yet).

I've never felt the need to grind for orbs that badly.

With that in mind I'm unsure what to do with my current orbs. Current thoughts are to hone Saints Cross and Exploding Fist from R2 to R3 and then craft and hone Bahamut to R3 but idk.
 
Here my goal was mostly to catch up on breaking every character MC2 while building a tiny cushion for some of the most interesting orbs, 33 refresh through the 3 phases so far.

My A team can roll any content so I don't need any better relics yet. (Have sg, multi stackable breakdown, couraga regen medica, 5 physical ssb with one of them being shadows ssb which is godly) I probably won't roll a regular banner again until the next next fft banner and go balls to wall for Orlandu stuff.

What I can't do is cid missions and there two way to beat those.

1. Whale and have good relics for all characters.

2. Hone top tier skills like full break, full charge, chain starter, Saint cross, theif raid, ect.

Well most of us have natural trinity since we're day 1 players and at this point really are pulling for luxury then need and since we know that in the next 6 months no game changing relics are coming there isn't much to hold back for.

Same reason Y'Sholta gets synergy because it's for the new arcade Dissidia where both of them are playable. Luneth technically isn't playable but OK is *shrugs*

Edit: 100 gems got me ff6 thief's bracer which is good but I have another not sure if I should combine or keep separate. Probably gonna combine since I have a pretty strong line up of 6 gear.
 
Cool, FFRK fucking crashes every single time I try to open my Orb Exchange menu. Fucking great.

Edit: Nevermind, it crashes when I do literally anything to navigate past the main in-game menu. Fantastic.

There are a crazy amount of 5* abilities coming, which is fantastic because it allows for variation and different combos within party comps (which is super fun to me, not Lifesiphon + SB spam). I've been burnt too much by 0/11 to care for pulls too much and my gear has currently allowed me to complete all CM's, so I have 0 need to pull.

As for Exploding Fist, I'd wait until the YRP event if you want a Monk skill. I'll definetely be honing Meteor Crush to R3 ASAP.

Considering how the game loves to give 4* gear for XII, this CM was never going to be a problem. I have Shatterheart, so even rubbish like x3 Guilt spam wasn't an issue.
 
I swear I have to uninstall and reinstall FFRK every month or so, no idea why and don't have this problem with any other apps -_-.

Anyway, I got in approximately 55 refreshes during Phase 3; not as many as I wanted (75), but more than I thought I was going to have time to get in. My final haul including Rewards and Orb Conversion:

54 Major Power Orbs
68 Major Black Orbs
59 Major Wind Orbs

I needed all 3 pretty badly but I'm pretty happy with that all things considered. Like WarAdept mentioned above, shitty pulls have made me not want to pull at all until we get guaranteed 5* on 11-pulls, and future-proofing abilities means to even have r3 of many notable skills in the next 6 months requires literally 200+ Major Black and Major Power orbs etc. Also fully half or more the reason I'm refreshing is for leveling purposes; by the end of this orbfest I will have every single character at their currently available cap, or very close to it.

So the way I look at it is I can continue my 5/188 streak or whatever it is, or I can burn ~100 mythril or whatever this fest to get like 60 characters from level 65 to 80 and have the orbs I need to craft all the best shit currently available and most of the best shit that will know will be happening in the next 6 months.

Major Power Orbs-89
Major Black Orbs-86
Major Wind Orbs -92

Only 11 non core characters left to get to 80. Feeling pretty set for future content at the moment.

I view it as a tradeoff. With enough 5* abilities, you can make up for a lack of Soul Breaks. Banner pulls are all RNG, but orb farming does yield higher returns in terms of the orbs you want, just over a longer period of time.

I've been needing Power Orbs for months, so I had no problem spending 40 Mythril on refreshes. I'm looking forward to R2 Powerchain, R2 Saint's Cross, and R2 Thief's Revenge if I can manage that.

Beaten U and U+ with true Cid Missions (all lead chars) without using Yshtola so no healer. It was super easy. I need strong U battles like in the old times. This dumbed down U battles are boring.

U+ Bartz cant come fast enough.
 
Oh yeah I mean don't get me wrong guys I know why you would want honed 5* stuff, but as a day 1 player myself I still value that 11 pull high far more than 5* abilities.

I continually master ult and ult+.

Also I've been running Exploding Fist for quite some time, come at me.
(It's okay but not great but I have a few rad monk setups and often run Tifa)

Likewise. Day 1 player here and I can't with how much mythril you guys are spending refreshing the orb fest. Don't you get bored sitting their and grinding for hours on end? I'd lose my mind.

Honestly, I've never felt that the game is THAT difficult to the point where I need every single abilities super honed. Especially since they introduced full charge.

When you see Reddit post like "Hey guys, I honed Bahamut to 5, Full Charge to 5 and Saint Cross to 5", I can only facepalm, BSSB era is coming, soon all the amazing Bursts will be more common thanks to new banner structure and Hones are less and less useful, Even new Nightmare 250 dungeons Japan has are for people with Burst since you have to clear a lot of hard mobs before the boss.

I mean skills are still usefull, but having anything more than R3 is a waste.
 
Makes sense to burn mythril on refreshes for the guys who get 17 major orbs each refresh.

Me, I get about 1.5 on average. But I'm done refreshing, mainly used it to get several to 80 and about 15 people from 1 to 50. Got a mage squad beefed up as well.

Celerity lucky starts tonight? I only have 11 mythril :( Going to be forever until I can pull my lucky. I'm either due for 0/11 or like 5/11 since I've never had a fantastic pull before.

But yeah, r3 is good enough imho for the five star abilities.
 
More or less one year ago I was spending no less than 2 full days constantly S/L-ing the same stage, until planets aligned and I could master that freaking Brynhildr.
I have particularly fond memories of that event, I also spent 160+ mythril, getting a FFXIII bracer, a Zantetsuken, two 0/11, two 0/3.
Good times.
Nothing like this modern day debauchery.
*gets back to wrecking everything Dissidia with an evil laughter and a Pecil BSB, Vaan BSB, Squall SSB, Tyro SG, Yshtola Medica II Team.
 
Fuck those stupid fucking Lucky Draw that always almost give me 0/11. Fuck em all. Now you all show me your nice pull as usual... Except Falk, maybe...

Right here! Twice as likely to get a SSB/BSB than to get nothing on this draw. I get nothing like 80% of Lucky Draws, did them all since day 1.
 
^For all the people questioning why some of us do massive refreshes on Orbfests to hone abilities. This is why. Even with guaranteed 5*s, it's not a guarantee on a BSB or anything.

Disclaimer, I'm at work so I haven't pulled yet.
 
Hmm, after reading that 6 out of 8? people got 0/11 I feel a little bit better about my pull... Got Zidane's Butterfly Sword... Still a bad pull for me because I have his SSB and at least 4 other weapons which are better for FF IX dungeons.

Edit: Loxley Bow (XII) - Ugh, shoulda passed. I want my 25 Mythril back.
